I'm Gunnar, 30 years old and aspiring to be a nature photographer/wildlife photographer/documentary filmmaker. Most of all, I am deeply convinced that there is beautiful nature all around us if we just care to look out for it. What I don't believe in is much talking, i.e. about gear, but rather going out and trying. This channel is about the outdoors, photography, wildlife, the Norwegian landscape, camping, hiking and tracking.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have anything to say, constructive feedback always helps!

Beautiful
❤in other news, you are absolutely gorgeous 🥰 and so are those ruffly birds
Great work! Which month did you travel to Dovrefjell?
Every! :D But this one should be late June to mid July. The golden plover is already there now :)
Music is much too loud. Difficult to understand what he is saying.
Noted.
Wonderful captures!
Thanks!
That lens, the Z 400mm f4.5 is NOT a PF lens. This I massive detail and it would be a shame to mislead the viewers of the video with something so wrong hence pointing it out.
What I meant is that it is light and not super fast in that comparison. But gladly we all have you here to make sure that nobody is completely mislead!!!
@@GunnarDresler Appreciate the sarcasm, love that, so I’ll join in, it is nice you made up your own facts, but being light and not super fast has absolutely nothing to do with PF lens design, that is just ignorance. It is not a PF lens by any measure at all. Thankfully we all have experience to not trust a word a tuber youber says. PS it wasn’t my intention to be rude or nasty but folk give you their time watching content they deserve a little better than misrepresenting products they are interested in just to see you be sarcastic when pointed out.
Gotta say am sorry. Tuesday does not seem to have been my best day, so I might have read too much aggression into something. Have a good weekend.
@@GunnarDresler No worries and I apologise for responding in kind. My first comment was not at all with any edge but fair enough if you thought it was.
Really nice, I enjoyed that very much! I am heading out myself tonight, it´s been two years since my last time filming the Grouse so I´m really excited. Liked and subscribed! 🙂
DANM! that Jeager at 11:16. super cool bird.
Fantastisk 👍🙂
Fantastic video as always, Gunnar. You have a great attitude and respect for your subjects, you convey a very important message that wildlife in all it's forms is essential to the survival of us all. Sending that message, is your purpose my friend. So never, ever, give up on that purpose!! 👏👏👏
Maybe I won't :P Thanks!
It makes me really happy to see that people are fighting for the nature around my homeplace to live, «La Tillermarka leve!». Nice and calming video, and stunning photos as well!
Fantastic video!!
Thanks, Alberto!
30 minutes well spent! Great work, Gunnar. Going back north this summer?
I had to cancel my Hornøya tour, so right now there are sadly no plans, no :( Yoou?
beautiful footage as always!
Thank you! :)
Hallo Gunnar, wieder ein tolles Video von Dir. Ich bin mittlerweile ein großer Fan von Dir geworden!
Das ist schön das es dir gefällt! Ab und zu mache ich auch mal was 😄 schönes Wochenende noch!

That’s where the pictures are 😋 thank you, Mark :)
Thank you for sharing - stay safe
Glad you tuned in :) have a great weekend!
Great video Gunnar, glad to see one of your vlogs again, some inconsiderate people around mate
Great you’re tuning in, Col. I’m not posting too often, but still ☺️
Awesome! Thank you!
Too kind ☺️ thanks for tuning in again!
Loved the footage of the bird in Dovrefjell, what is it? We went to Lake Kerkini in Greece where the Dalmatian Pelicans look resplendent in the winter months for their breeding season. A handful of boats offer tours for photographers and pelicans gather round the boats where fish are thrown for them; some would say this is baiting. Before the tourism, the fishermen used to kill the pelicans because they feed on the fish they are trying to catch. Luckily the government stepped in and there is now at least this symbiotic relationship, the pelicans don't rely on the tourist boats and the fishermen leave them alone. I grant that photos taken may be disqualified from awards due to the baiting, and some may argue the semantics over the term "wildlife" but what I found more shocking was the use of flash close to the birds in the early morning.
Hei Alan, I’m mean first of all I’m happy to hear that they aren’t killing the pelicans anymore. It’s quite a big topic, but in that case I don’t even know if that’s baiting still. This sounds more like feeding to me, but then maybe that’s the same for the beavers, though I did not see how the beavers got the food. I don’t want to tell people what to do, that’s why I’m asking what they think about it and how it changes their look on the photos. I had that switch around when I was doing my squirrel project. When I realised that I was training the squirrel to do a certain thing, to jump from a to b, I suddenly felt that it was kind of a meaningless thing to do. Even besides probably being unethical, it was totally inauthentic. And what do I want with an inauthentic picture? It’s meaningless in the sense of wildlife photography. If about baiting the question is, why do people bait? Often for business reasons, to get steady photo opportunities for guests. And I think that can highly be questioned in the face of growing wildlife tourism. That’s what it is from my point of view, not wildlife photography, but tourism. And then there’s people that bait to get a photo that’s otherwise too hard to get, and that can also be questioned. Why should we be allowed to get that photo at the price of altering that animals behaviour or habituated it. (A bit of the same goes for the flashes) Just some thoughts 😄 Cheers!
Brilliant, fantastic footage and images. I agree, people should not feed or get so close to wildlife that it disturbs them or changes their natural behaviour. Stay well and safe travels. All the best. NATURE FIRST. 👍📷😎
Hei Rob, I think the closeness here is not necessarily the problem. The animals are very used to people since it is a nature area used soooo much by people in Trondheim. That is why I do not understand that people think it even necessary to bait here at all. It is pretty weird to me. Cheers :)
Always a pleasure watching your videos Gunnar! Great photos also...👌
Thank you, Wayne. This one was supposed to come out 2 month ago, then all got lost. But here it is :D

Beautiful!😍
Thank you :)
Hi Gunnar. I am a young birder from Belgium, who is planning to go to the Lofoten. And I can hardly get locations of birds. Maybe you could send a few? Thanks regards, Arthur.
Hey Arthur, I do not know myself around Lofoten too much, but note that I in general do not share locations. I think there are enough resources to do your own research and be successful. Good luck!
Fantastic. Thank you. Stay well and safe travels. All the best for 2024. 👍📷😎
Fascinating!!
They are!
Great video Gunnar, stunning photos and videos. I'm a massive dipper fan so I think the dipper segment is my favourite.
We have that in common! Thank you, Johann :)
🤘 Promo_SM
Absolutely stunning photography.
Amazing Trailer. I really like those oxes
Thanks :) Then I have good news for you! :P
Very nice video, as always great images and footage. I'd really love to see a "best photos of 2023" video when the time comes!
I normally do one and publish it on the same date, but I am not sure if I have enough time this year. Thanks for the comment :)
Wonderful❤❤💙💙🇦🇺🦜🐦🌲💖💘♥️💙🦜🦜🇦🇺🇦🇺🙏🙏🌹🌹🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲🐦
Great video! Lots of great images with that setup. If the Z9 is too heavy, I think the Z8 might be a great choice, not much heavier than the Z6 ii.
I would say 300g is quite a difference in weight, but I got an Z8 now :) Thanks for commenting!
Great adventure Gunnar! Would have been more fun with someone else, but you were ok ;)
You are my favourite!
Great video and gear 🙂👍
Tusen takk, Stig! :)

Great video Gunnar! 👌 You are so lucky to see so many Musk Oxen!
Oh yeah, that big group was very interesting too watch, a lot of interaction!
The perfect trio is musk ox reindeer and mammoth
Sadly didn’t get the last one :/
@@GunnarDresler we might get in 5 years by collosal bioscience go search its an amazing story
As always, phenomenal footage and beautifully edited. So cinematic. Looks like a great trip!
Thank you, Sam. Still not too happy with my audio commentary quality, but it’s getting a bit better.
@@GunnarDresler You are who you are., I think you are doing well. Not everyone has to be a perfectionist!
I really enjoyed this video. Great images, but also incredible footage! It looks like the 400mm f4.5 is great for wildlife photography.
Photo wise a very good option, pretty sharp, also good to use with the 1.4 converter instead of getting the new 600. But I will need the zoom for filming :)
Very tempted to visit next summer.
Let me know if you do and want a day 1on1 workshopping. I’ll be posting some more diverse photos from Runde soon :)
Great colours Gunnar.
You like the grade? I definitely pumped up the contrast in some areas. Not perfectly satisfied yet, but it didn’t look like way too much either 😄 thanks for the feedback!
as always, great! Curious about the next episode...
Not sure when I do Dovrefjell specifically again, but there will be more from the mountains soon enough!
