A Very entertaining video, as it makes me want to start a new hobby... Keep up the good work!
this is an excellent video and the mfdoom body is fantastic. I have, I mean my son has a 2005 lunchbox and im going to do a stack of these mods for me i mean him to tune it up
Love it, and thanks for the feedback cause it takes a long time doing a video like this one. Glad you and your son are having fun, hopefully if the rain stops this morning I will be out with my boy for some RC action 👍🏻
I bought my first LB in 1988 when I was a kid. I ordered my second LB just now! Your upgrade videos have been super informative and provided me a nice template for mods. So, thanks for that! I do have a question though. What 2S LiPo battery are you using? I'm considering units around 4000-5000 mAh and 35C-50C discharge. My concern is if I'll damage my ESC (HW 1080 G2 and 1060) and/or motor if the discharge (current) is too great.
I haven't moved over to Lipo yet. The comparison between 2S and NiMH is very little imo. I feel safer with NiMH and easier to store. I get loads of run time with 4500Mah batteries, easily enough for a long session. I also only run brushed motors so I am stuck in the good old days lol
@@DustyFingersRC I went with Tamiya's Sport Tuned motor for this iteration. I figured I'd bypass the NiMH batteries for the newest tech...no more resistor speed controllers and soldering individual cells for battery packs :)
If you are on Facebook there are a couple of great Lunchbox pages and everyone seems cool in the group. Loads of suggestions and ideas for lipo batteries in case that helps.
@@DustyFingersRC already joined per your recommendation :)
@jxmcfarland Great, I know you will have a blast with the Lunchy. Appreciate the comments to, nice to share a fun hobby with good people 👍🏻
Really good video 👏 I like the idea of the pen for the detailing. Question, is this an empty Montana can pen filled with some paint? What colour did you use ? Was it Tamiya paint ? Many thanks
Hi, yes. You buy it empty and then get the colour of paint you want to fill it. You can buy paint pens in colours you want too. There is a brand I bought a red pen of but forgot the name. I can check when I get home and message you back.
@@DustyFingersRC legend. I’ve got some really good tips from this video. I’m about to start my lunch box build and they will come in very handy 👏👏
Gana Market Paint Pen. I bought a red one which seems good. I think there are many available now and this particular one only has a round tip so may not be ideal for detailing. I like the chisel tip ones myself. Montana paint is used for graffiti so pretty good stuff which is why I went that route.
' i have one R/C tamiya frog car and use traxxas parts / rims wheels / shocks... another R/C tamtrax car is a half tamiya frog chassic and half traxxas stampede chassic... very cooool
😎👍🏻
This is excellent. And the paint scheme looks awesome too. Great hop up modifications too. I agree both the Hornet and Grasshopper steering arms are really flimsy almost a thin piece of wire and they are also difficult to fit a battery into. So your space saver servi is a great idea filing the suspension arms to get rid of the binding problem is a very clever fix too. Great work here mate Top marks👌👍
Thanks for leaving such a great comment. Glad you liked the video and it has made me want to take it out again 👍🏻
Thanks bro
IMO the least frustrating path to converting Tamiyas to brushless power is a 3000kv F540 - aka 2838-size motor in a 540-size can. The motors tend to be about $15 and any cheap 35a ESC will be fine, and you don't need to buy anything else for a drop-in replacement that gives you a big power boost and better battery life. Lunch Box/Grasshopper type gearboxes can handle the increased power without any problem but as you know, the higher speeds means more broken parts when you crash.
Another great video! Thanks :)
Appreciate it, thanks 👍🏻
IS THERE AN AFTERMARKET DIFF. FOR THE LUNCHBOX (MIP?) LIKE THEY MAKE FOR THE BLACKFOOT?
Not for this no. You can lock the diff but that's all. Few methods to that including a 3D printed option.
Looks great👍🏼 I’m keen to get one now !”
Thanks 😁 Got to say it is really good to drive and great fun.
😎👍
😎✌🏻
Awesome video
Appreciate it, thanks for watching 😁
NEEDS OIL IN THE REAR SHOCKS
Facts 👍🏻 It has been worked on since we took it out.
Thank you for the great video! Watching it reminds me of my first non-Tamiya RC, a Nikko Turbo Panther / Frame Buggy with that same cool push up to the top right stick shift full speed option. Watching the other boys from school I so wished I had a Tamiya or Kyosho too.
Brilliant, thanks for sharing that with me. 🙏🏻
👍👍👍 Wow awesome video, and cool rc car 👍👍💯 Nice video, nice rc car 👍👍💯
Thank you 👍🏻
Sorry but trying to understand how this improves turning circle if the wheel travel is limited by the knuckle hitting the control arm
Looks great, nice paint choice.
Thank you 😁
The sound effects, bong bong are awesome 👍
Thanks, bit of fun 😁
Awesome video, I've just bought my first ever lunchbox, so im looking forward to the build and making it my own little beast!
If you are not already in the Facebook groups and fancy chatting with fellow Lunchie's and sharing ideas, it is a great place to be especially when building and sharing what you are up to. A good bunch of people. Enjoy 👍🏻
@@DustyFingersRC cheers mate, I'll check it out.
I’d prefer a tad bit slower and more in depth on some of these mods, some kinda just flashed by really fast
cool
😎👊🏼💯
awesome channel . this is enjoyable content . i leave a like and full support to your channel my friend
Appreciate it thanks. A thumbs up goes a long way 😁
Think shocks are a must
Thanks for watching. Which ones have you used?
I very recently baught myself a wild one re-release, I had the fast attack vehicle back in 2012 and absolutely adored it. Unfortunately I sold it because I couldn't afford to fix it. But now I have my wild one, and I would not change it for any other buggy on the market.
Love it! That's awesome! 👍🏻
I'm definitely giving you a big thumbs up for effort, Damian! Man you did some running for this video and yes that stop in front of the camera deserves another thumbs up! Gotta say I'm super impressed by your son's driving skills - top notch! Great video my friend! 😎👊👍
Thanks Mark, told my son your thoughts and he is chuffed 👍🏻 it was a great couple of days and loads of fun, thanks for the great comment 😁
I just brought a lunchbox and these upgrades look fun !
Excellent 👍🏻 It's great stock but loads of options as and when you want to mod it. Thanks for checking out the video and good to hear someone else has a load of fun ahead of them.
รถสวยมากอยากได้สักคัน 😍😍😍
Bless you 🙏🏻
Hi Damian , so pleased the kids enjoyed it and they looked like they were having a good time with it as well. Great locations and the buggy looked at home, sorry I didn’t have a bigger pinion gear for it , a lot of my spares end up on race cars. Great video as always and a good detailed review. :) take care and enjoy !
Andy, I think having the 22T was good for the kids tbh, and we can see the difference when I get a 27T 👍🏻 We really did have a blast mate. I have finally found the spur gear replacement from GPM. Had to order it from Germany but found it after @AdventureTimeRC helped confirm the part number 👍🏻
Buggy looks pretty good tbh, great footage to 👍
Genuinely surprised how much fun the buggy was to drive. Got a spur gear fix coming and need that faster pinion. Try then and then maybe a faster motor too.
@@DustyFingersRC that would be cool to see, I nearly bought one of these back along
Nice review, this Buggy looks really fun. Reminds me of the old Tamiya kits. Good effort chasing it down the path for all us viewers 👍🏾
Hi, hope all is good with you and the family. I managed to find a replacement spur gear which solves the main issue so waiting for that to arrive cause they loved driving it so much I thought I should sort it out. Great buggy tbh. Thanks for checking in 👍🏻
Great review of a no frills and fun rc!Perfect for newcomers to the hobby for sure.😊
Thanks for watching 😁
Very cool run Damian
Thanks 👍🏻
I'm not sure what makes my happer. A basic kit it just works or the next generation getting into the hobby. Rims and shocks are just a basic upgrade everyone does anyway.
Great summary, I was so chuffed with the response. Great memories made that day and hopefully more to come 👍🏻
Great video Damian, nice to see the lads getting some trigger-time. Cheers to the next generation of RC addicts! :)
Thanks, appreciate it. Nice to get him outside and having fun. We have had way too much rain here.
Very cool buggy and video Dusty another epic production brother, good times and it's of skills!!! Lol! Enjoy and God bless 🙏🏼🙌🏼
Took years to master that move 😂 loving you plane footage, been keeping up with the high sky action .👍🏻
@@DustyFingersRC lol, and performed perfectly! 😉👍🏼 Thank you!
Great review of the buggy! It is a good looking one albeit a little more on the basic beginner side of the scales. I did like the way mine drove and once I cleaned up the spur gear it was much quieter. For the price it is a nice kit and I have had fun with mine. I do agree the wheels are a bit of a miss with how much stuff gets packed into them and don't firmly secure the tires.
Without our critical eye my son and his friend thinks it's great so fun factor is way up there. Plus I could relax not having to worry about breakages as it is robust especially at the speed we had it.
great video and fun . the lad killed that jump 🤜👍👍👍
That is also one of the only jumps I have found which lets a Lunchbox land on its wheels lol
Great idea for a video, Damian! You got the usual perspective of a seasoned RC enthusiast, but also managed to address the scenario that someone might buy this as their first RC, very good! It's a cool buggy, but as you stated, it's in the lower end of Kyosho's lineup, also quality-wise. Your commentary with those gate markers gave me a good giggle!
I actually hit a gate too but that footage was lost, sometimes I think I am recording when I am not. 🤦♂️ They are like 🧲 to the buggy. Not had so much RC fun in a long time. Really surprised my son's friend really enjoyed it so much....there was loads more driving than I showed, went through a lot of battery packs. It's nice to drive. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Great vid, really does it justice. Need to get my Nexxt up and running! FAV re-re soon. I really wanna do a shark mouth but im barely touching the ridiculous stockpile of RCs i already have let alone taking on more lol
I would like to that, loved the look of it from the pics you shared. Yeah, if they do release the Shark Mouth I am in. Otherwise I have my custom one I have built...bit more to do and I have the tan coloured one I might build too. I should really do that to ride the trend wave when it gets re released lol
I love this buggy I have been pretty abusive to it and it's holding up good testing
Yeah, I watched your videos in it and seen you enjoying it. I wasn't expecting too much but there is something about it for sure and put loads.if battery packs through it over 2 days. Only one tire decal left and strangely that one hasn't even lifted at all.
Cool little RC. Awesome video buddy, looks like a lot of fun was had by all! Looking forward to the FAV videos my good man! 😁👌
Thanks Paul, it was fun and memories made 👍🏻
what a great video! Many people recommend buying an Ez-210 gearbox as spare parts, what will be the top speed at 2s? thanks for sharing!
Thanks for letting me know a out the parts, that is useful and I will look in to it. I got to be honest, I don't even own a speeding to record top speed. Always been money I prefer to spend on something else RC related. The SkyRC one wasn't cheap for sure. Thanks for watching and the tip 👍🏻
We have a Kyosho shop here in Malaysia. I'm thinking of getting one and doing a brushless conversion just for a bit of fun xnd the wife can bash it around she doesn't like my nitro buggies.
That sounds a good idea, I like it 👍🏻
Awesome review as always bro! You guys look like you enjoyed yourself!
It was unexpected to be honest, loads.of fun! Thanks for watching always 👊🏼
Fast attack vehicles coming back out in August.
Yeah, I seen that. Hoping the do the shark mouth again at some point.
Nice ! My first kit!! Oh course I scooped up the last re-re. 😅
Big thumbs up for the running! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks, I appreciate that. I should do more training 😂
Excellent testing Damian; very entertaining!👍😊 I’ll definitely add one to the stable at some point!
Thanks, we had a great couple days and I hoped to get that across. Thanks always 🙏🏻
Great review. Never known a dad which doesnt think of improvements that could be made to their kids favorite toys..lol
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it. 👍🏻
Nice buggy
👍🏻 Thanks for checking it out.
