one wish I had for this game was a grid overlay to show roads and bridges, I tend to lose them in the woods,
8 years later you're still teaching people. I just started it last week and I'm having a blast. Just getting into the looking at the wiki and watching tutorials phase. Looking forward to the series. Cheers.

Wood is a renewable resource, but stone becomes scarce very quickly. You can burn all the wood you'll evern want. The stone house also requires a crazy amount of wood to build. I prefer to have a mixture of houses, with stone in town centers, and maybe occasionally a stone mansion very far from firewood producers. Your wood producer is extremely far from the houses. People will have to walk far to fetch firewood and can't work while they are doing that. Why build a useless and expensive town hall early on? My first town killer was scarcity of food. I can't imagine people actually dying of starvation in reality. They might be unable to work productively, and go wander off into the woods looking for mushrooms. This would have a negative feedback on productivity. Then I got Cholera despine not having any nomads ever. It outbroke in a forest. Perhaps there was a nomad drunkard there. I saved and reloaded like 40 times while going through this with low number of deaths.
The fun of the game is figuring out the mechanics by yourself, and then comparing with other people's experience. Forester takes a long time to start producing, until the trees have grown up. But then he can also produce logs by foresting trees within a town. Initially he seems broken, like the copyrigjht protection in Settlers III. I don't like how the forester replants mostly leaf-shedding deciduous trees. All forests will look farmed before long. I think you must be careful to keep producers of the same kind balanced. Such as all woodcutters an equal distance from a stockpile. Otherwise you'll have an overabundance of firewood in one town hub.
Food production is not really complex. You don't need any resource inputs for the facilities. If the hunters and gatherers are too far from houses, then people won't get the food or spend a long time walking to the other barn. Herbalist needs only a small number of trees in its circle, and herb consumption is so low that she will be at the storage limit all the time. You can put it near your town with half of its range as forest. People also have to walk to the herbalist. Hunters and gatherers work the best early on. I don't think fishing is usually as good because there might not be a large body of water nearby. Farming requires too much labor. Orchard production really goes down after a few years. The trees get cancer and disappear, and don't yield any timber from their death.
I know it’s been 8 years lol but am just getting into the game - do you have any more tutorials?
Thanks for the videos, I’ve just started playing and they have been really helpful.
In the hard mode, you start with no seed. You have to get seeds by trading.
7 years late, still awsome game, im quit new, and this videos is one of the best guides there is on KZread love it.
If a bridge or trader are in the yellow radius of a fisher, they impact the number of fish produced.
He’s daughter is killed by Simon Wens... Poor guy... At least he killed him as a revenge.

Not enough detail. Need to know more about each food manufacturer; ie, is a 7x7 pasture more efficient that a 14x14 in terms of food created and food to worker ratio.
It was confirmed by the dev that the crop rotation didn't make it to final release, and that's complete bullshit. You don't need to worry about that at all.
Hi
Still there I hope? 🙏
I have up banished because the workers in my breweries always went to the distant ports and storage buildings instead of the closer ones I built for them.
just from starting this video i already see that im not building enough storage barns lol

I know... Super late but THANK YOU for this! I've had the game since it came out and never actually played it cause couldn't understand what to do (even after reading the manual several times). I'm dumb, for sure, but this is what I needed right now🔥
Love this game even though its the most stressful peaceful game i can think of.
Easily my most played game ever.
Is it true that the more trading posts you have, the more merchants that will come?
Yes. Also if you save right before the boat docks, if you need something different, just reload. Since it's randomized, you basically roll the dice again. Sometimes when you're desperate for firewood or food, it's good to know. You can still get 14 of something you don't need, of course though.
Aaww poor kid. Using auto fire, so cute. If I was mean I'd say, n00b.
Great tutorial 👍 it explained everything I needed to know

I feel obliged to say Eightteenth
Wow very informative, thank you.
My population wasnt growing, and then I realized I its because of the houses, and they were all in their 70s
Why do your graphics look so good? I've got mine maxed on a beefy pc here and it doesn't look anywhere near that sharp! Is that a mod? Let me know if you would, I just started playing and would love it to look like that!
where are the rest of the videos?
Who is that last person in the last clip of all the videos saying im a man🤣🤣
People played it in 2014, im playing it 2019 wow. How backward i am!!!
I always go back to this game. Love it
I discovered this game just now and I'm hook with it lol
I actually dont know how but one perdon build the game not even that the game is so small but the outlut we have the graphics outstanding and the gameplay is so realistic. Outstanding.
That's not shameful if the game is good though. Banished is a good game. You can still play Doom (early 1990s) or Starcraft or Half-Life or Super Mario. Those games were great and they still are.
Thanks lretty informative
appreciated
Worth of like
Great video. Very helpful. The word is pronounced Kw-are-e. Are like car.
Seventeenth. What in tarnation?
You only need a small amount of food production in the beginning of the game. As soon as you begin trading, it becomes obsolete...
But perhaps your high school teacher didn't teach you that :D

Wood houses hold in heat better. Proven by science
That's right! A boarding house saves everyone's lives!
Where are my comments? Hahaha
A secular society is a better society. I really don't know why the developers added religion.
