----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Banished is a city-building strategy game focused on careful resource management and survival as an isolated and growing society
The player guides citizens of a remote community of outcasts to grow and maintain a settlement through a command economy. The game focuses largely on the citizens of the player's town as individuals. As the designer states in a video, "the townspeople of Banished are your primary resource. They are born, grow older, work, have children of their own and eventually die. Keeping them healthy, happy and well-fed are essential to making your town grow as you have to deal with relentless weather conditions, fires, depression, starvation, an aging population and more.

No...you shouldn't place a wood cutter near a Forest lodge , place the wood cuter near a stock pile.

You shouldn't place a woodcutter near a forrester lodge just because they are related, and take it as a general rule. But.. in the early game, your first stockpile is probably gonna be near your forrest hub, for gathering resources and logs, when you get to cutting, while also near enough from your main housing area. So, for maximum efficiency, at least in the very early game, it's logical that your forrest lodge, stockpile and woodcutter should be grouped together. But generally all production buildings ideally have stockpiles very near, especially woodcutters, since your trading, at some point or another will be based on firewood.

You should be able to further divide the workers into areas. So that two can get wood, while 4 get food.

I was hoping for a video where you put all of these tips into practice for like the first 20 years. Not in a lets play format but an in order guide to surviving.

The fun of the game is figuring out the mechanics by yourself, and then comparing with other people's experience. Forester takes a long time to start producing, until the trees have grown up. But then he can also produce logs by foresting trees within a town. Initially he seems broken, like the copyrigjht protection in Settlers III. I don't like how the forester replants mostly leaf-shedding deciduous trees. All forests will look farmed before long. I think you must be careful to keep producers of the same kind balanced. Such as all woodcutters an equal distance from a stockpile. Otherwise you'll have an overabundance of firewood in one town hub.

Just got into banished again and was watching your videos on the topic. Really nice work, just wished you would have done that first 10 year video so I could see the process from beginning to end.
