I usually hate ramping with a passion. 🤣 but, in this kind of deck, I would sacrifice a few or a spells in favor of more ramp. I probably would get rid of the land auras? and just replace those with the ram spells. I'd rather keep my lands dedicated entirely to generating mana... not ramping. I had a first copy of this and took all the ores out of that and put it into the scrappy survivors to make it into a dedicated aura deck. but, I wanted this one because I like the idea of role as and see myself choosing the backup Commander over the face commander. just because I see assigning so many different kinds? it could be kind of fun putting in some nice movie themed editions? like all your creatures are on a set making a movie or something.

Unfortunately it's not a straightforward answer. Some decks, like this spell slinger list could have a little as 10-15. I've played against 0 creature decks (other than the commander) that perform great! Other decks like the Riders of Rohan, an aggressive combat deck, have over 30 with plenty of the other spells creating more creatures. As a general rule I would focus less on the ratio of cards types (creature, sorcery, instant etc.) and more on the ratio of cards that advance your gameplan with 30 being a good target of "doing the thing." theres a dragon that also copies her ability. i was able to use cruel celebrant with teysa and the dragon to launch 36 damage at all opponents by spamming token creation and sac engines

Bcs of the first effect "Gain control of target creature until end of turn. Untap that creature" [...] As you can select your own creature, you can just target Stella to untap her (and do the trick)

Yea I stopped ordering boxes from amazon (as should anyone else) when a seller advertised nexus of fate with m19 boxes (the box topper) just to not include it with my order then have the nerve to tell me he never added in the description that the box topper comes with the booster box. Just stick to LGS or reputable sites.

Something to note, legendary cards sac themselves but those other abilities still trigger. For opponents life becomes a living hell.

As an OG 5 color colorless Eldrazi commander expert with my Morophon deck back when the card was released, this deck looks very exciting and a lot of cards from the precon will eventually be put into my deck. The only concern I have is the amount of mana you will need to make Ulalek work. Since I run Morophon, I often get past this issue by using nonsense like fist of the suns, but generating a lot of mana quickly will be a major hurdle for those who want to run Ulalek. Another thing I recommend is to not take out World Breaker since it is still fantastic hate, and to also throw in Kozilek, Butcher of Truth since the card is cheap right now and can immediately refill your hand after an explosive turn.

I have and payed the Ulalek precon, I was able to cast him turn 3 and by turn 6 I had 10 Eldrazi spawn, 6 lands including one that was a double mana for Eldrazi, Sol ring and a talisman, and heralds horn. The problem I had was card draw/having cards to play that aren’t reactive

Great video! I hate to be "that guy" but Ulalek does copy the cast triggers as in its ability it says to copy the triggered abilities on the stack as the spell cast. And since the cast triggers are triggered abilities on the stack the cast triggers will be copied by ulaleks ability

So apparently cast triggers are indeed triggered abilities that could be copied with ulalek. Idk why I kept missing that before, so while you aren’t getting the cast triggers by copying the spell you still get a second from copying the triggered ability

This Virtue and Valor is great. The only downside is those 10 misplaced tokens in the precon. I had to purchase those roles tokens individually. Or MTG prints those myself... I've switched Mazzy as commander, add skybind to flick Ellivere, added The War Doctor too, so much fun!

Great thing about River of Tears is that while it makes black mana on the turn you play it, on your subsequent opponents turns it will revert to blue mana for counter spells.

theres also a number of "draw a card, untap a creature" options as a possible replacement for Dig Through Time big draw. Like Twisted Fealty they can to infinite with you basically getting to draw through your deck one card at a time until you find what you want (Like say, Twisted Fealty)

Feel like this is becoming the case for precons as a whole. As the years go on, there's either one good deck when the rest are terrible, or the decks of choice are just bad. No matter what deck you get, you're forced to "upgrade" it because a handful of cards are thrown in for flavour more than strategy and that handful is getting bigger and bigger each precon. Meanwhile you look at other TCGs and their structure decks, so long as its a recent deck, you have the tools for both casual and competitive play in the box.

I'm getting this deck for the commander, the mana base, and a few of the more general use mardu spells to use as a vampire deck. Vampires have quite a few assassins and rogues giving a bit of use to Olivia's want for outlaws, but she is mostly here to get a treasure by her attacking consistently, and gaining lifelink off her for lifegain vampire shenanagains while otherwise leaning wholly into vampires.

The white is forced... it makes it so you have to throw in smothering tithe. I can't find any other reason for it.

If they HAD to add another color... adding blue to make her Grixis would have made FAR more sense. White adds virtually nothing but the lack of blue means you lose out on SO MANY rogues, pirates, and treasure cards.... which Olivia REALLY wants. The fact that it's a COMBAT damage trigger railroads you into pirates or rogues. Assassins and Warlocks really don't want to be trying to get in for combat damage and mercenaries don't care for it much either.

Feel like this is becoming the case for precons as a whole. As the years go on, there's either one good deck when the rest are terrible, or the decks of choice are just bad.
