this made me emotional! i grew up seeing jags lined in a holding lot of premier motor along with mercury Lincoln ford and Maserati, even with all these luxury brands my eyes where all along in the directions of jag i always have this thing towards jag and also have a dream of owning one especially the f-type but this sudden demise of ICE and introduction of ev will kill the jaguar soul that i know i am still in a belief i could save one in like 2/3 years before this disappear.

Interesting review thank you. I'm nearing the end of my Tesla Model 3 LR lease and looking to buy a replacement outright. I've had the Model 3 for over 3 years and it's been so easy to live with so the natural inclination is to replace with the new Model 3. However, the next car will be with me a long time (into retirement) so I need to get it right. There's a couple of wiggly things about the Model 3 which means I will want to challenge myself by trying a few alternatives. I might seem a bit picky here . . . 1) no Apple Car Play, 2) crap auto wipers, 3) No parking sensors, 4) no stalks, 5) no radar for cruise (need to see how well it manages with cameras), 6) Elon Musk. BUT there are some things I love a) the sound system (I couldn't trade that down for anything), b) the simplicity of the interface, c) efficiency, d) charge rate, e) party trick performance, f) it just works! So at this £50k-ish price point, what else is there with a decent range, performance and practicality? Really the BYD Seal is one of the few options to consider to I'll have to test one. I know it has Apple Car play [tick], great performance [tick], practicality [tick] but what about everything else? Any other conclusions from you? What's the UI like? Is the sound system much worse than the Model 3? Charge rate is a bit slow I believe? I think my ideal car would be a Model 3 LR but with the issues 1 - 5 sorted. I don't think my ideal car exists at this price point and I'd need to add a lot to the budget to get close!

When it’s time to consolidate cars, when the need is for one car only, this is what I’ll get. Currently have a G22 M440i and a G21 320d Touring. What do I use my Touring for? My dogs, in their crate (two Jack Russells), my grandkids and the back seats also used for luggage when we holiday with the dogs in their crate. The M440i is for a bit of performance, love 2 door coupe’s and, yes, a M340i could give me all I need. However, this is an icon, trans European trips, with the dogs, loads of luggage and blistering performance. Consolidating means saving around £1200 a year on VED and insurance with one car instead of two. It’s a no brainer

I want this car. I love the looks, comfort, power and handling. I just wish it wasn't insurance group 50D. I'm hoping that comes down a bit before I'm ready to buy in November; maybe when they have a bit more data against it. The EV6 GT as a comparison, which is more expensive, more powerful and faster both to 60 & top end is only group 45 ☹

Upgraded from an ATTO3 which is a great family SUV to the twin motor Seal. Couldn't resist the extra power. Beats the Tesla by a mile in cabin comfort but similar in performence. Love the headup. and not having to take the eyes off the road to monitor speed unlikeTesla's everything on the screen including wipers and gear shift.

Every time I find something I like I go and find reviews on it, and after a while I start passing over the positive ones saying much the same thing - I need to find a (semi) critical one that points out those things which might, if unknown, detract from the expectations of only reading positive reviews. For that, I think it is an excellent critique; making the conclusion - that the compromises and faults ultimately are exceeded by the driving experience - very worthwhile. Anyone who invests in buying this car will be better prepared. Thank you.

Overall good review. A bit too much about BYD itself but I understand that it is an unknown brand. It is very interesting that some reviewers find it handles well whilst others do not. There is such a big gulf between it's reported abilities. I wonder if it's because some people review based on the badge and spec sheet and others review based on the car itself. I personally want one! But will hold off to see what Lexus does with their next gen IS but i doubt it will be nearly the same league in terms of performance at the price it is in Australia.

BYD has been making cars for almost 20 years. Not "10 years or so". BYD has been making cars before Tesla. Dynaudio is also a Danish company that is wholly owned by GoerTek. They have supplied cars like Bugatti in the past. They are not "made in house" but BYD did collaborate with Goertek to create the sound system for the Seal.

V8 jags will not go away. Jaguar will do the same thing Ford did when it replaced the initial V8 in the Raptor with an "Eco-boost" V6. Only to bring back the V8 a few years later (recently) with a "new" V8 at a $30-40k premium over the V6 Eco-boost nobody asked for, wanted, or wants. Jeep did the exact same thing when it reintroduced the V8 on the Wrangler at a substantial premium a few years ago. Jaguar will follow suit. The reintroduction of the V8, after it is "taken away" will serve as a emotional/psychological mind chuck to get the consumer to look past the substantial car price hikes coming in the near future. Get ready to a V8 F-Type in the near future that will be priced 2x what it is now.

Great Video. Loved the bit with Luke and Henry 😂. Will be getting one ordered next week. My main concern will be how well they do the updates to the software. With so many models coming I hope they offer many years of updates. Especially when they are clearly not as tuned as the Tesla software. This is where they need to close the gap in my opinion. Looking forward to recreating the performance tests with my family.
