Well, Maserati just knocked it off the park with the folgore. Pretty sure Jag can make a fun EV too.
I'm keeping my 2010 Jag XKR!! Since they're going full dull EV and probably be out of business with that decision 🙄
Dude - funny stuff - so many serious people here.
this made me emotional! i grew up seeing jags lined in a holding lot of premier motor along with mercury Lincoln ford and Maserati, even with all these luxury brands my eyes where all along in the directions of jag i always have this thing towards jag and also have a dream of owning one especially the f-type but this sudden demise of ICE and introduction of ev will kill the jaguar soul that i know i am still in a belief i could save one in like 2/3 years before this disappear.
Interesting review thank you. I'm nearing the end of my Tesla Model 3 LR lease and looking to buy a replacement outright. I've had the Model 3 for over 3 years and it's been so easy to live with so the natural inclination is to replace with the new Model 3. However, the next car will be with me a long time (into retirement) so I need to get it right. There's a couple of wiggly things about the Model 3 which means I will want to challenge myself by trying a few alternatives. I might seem a bit picky here . . . 1) no Apple Car Play, 2) crap auto wipers, 3) No parking sensors, 4) no stalks, 5) no radar for cruise (need to see how well it manages with cameras), 6) Elon Musk. BUT there are some things I love a) the sound system (I couldn't trade that down for anything), b) the simplicity of the interface, c) efficiency, d) charge rate, e) party trick performance, f) it just works! So at this £50k-ish price point, what else is there with a decent range, performance and practicality? Really the BYD Seal is one of the few options to consider to I'll have to test one. I know it has Apple Car play [tick], great performance [tick], practicality [tick] but what about everything else? Any other conclusions from you? What's the UI like? Is the sound system much worse than the Model 3? Charge rate is a bit slow I believe? I think my ideal car would be a Model 3 LR but with the issues 1 - 5 sorted. I don't think my ideal car exists at this price point and I'd need to add a lot to the budget to get close!
Lol if you dont buy Jaguar EV Asia will. Its down to government to keep ICE. But with noise cameras and speed cameras everwhere plus environmental laws from EU you really think theyll go back to loud v8 cant see it...
I ordered one today..
So you bought a commercial vehicle that's ill-suited to your needs, then complain about it. Brilliant!
Great video my friend. Just subscribed. Greetings from Hawaii. ❤👍💯
When it’s time to consolidate cars, when the need is for one car only, this is what I’ll get. Currently have a G22 M440i and a G21 320d Touring. What do I use my Touring for? My dogs, in their crate (two Jack Russells), my grandkids and the back seats also used for luggage when we holiday with the dogs in their crate. The M440i is for a bit of performance, love 2 door coupe’s and, yes, a M340i could give me all I need. However, this is an icon, trans European trips, with the dogs, loads of luggage and blistering performance. Consolidating means saving around £1200 a year on VED and insurance with one car instead of two. It’s a no brainer
That fixed wing just don’t look right. Ruins the flow of the rear. To each their own, but yeah, not feeling it. Otherwise, these cars truly are art on wheels.
Jaguar should tell the world they were just kidding and will be making gas cars forever to preserve their heritage. Imagine what that would do for the brand.
I absolutely love the Jaguar F type R, and this one with more hp is beautiful. The new style headlights do it for me. Long live the V8
I want this car. I love the looks, comfort, power and handling. I just wish it wasn't insurance group 50D. I'm hoping that comes down a bit before I'm ready to buy in November; maybe when they have a bit more data against it. The EV6 GT as a comparison, which is more expensive, more powerful and faster both to 60 & top end is only group 45 ☹
SAVED Jaguar, bought F-type S 3.0, amazing sound. THE Smile maker
Nice till the battery catches fire
Upgraded from an ATTO3 which is a great family SUV to the twin motor Seal. Couldn't resist the extra power. Beats the Tesla by a mile in cabin comfort but similar in performence. Love the headup. and not having to take the eyes off the road to monitor speed unlikeTesla's everything on the screen including wipers and gear shift.
I have a big V8 5.0 supercharged Jag, and I love it, its British, its iconic, its loud and its fast, this is what Jag does best, going EV is a sell out, and is bound to fail.. stick to ICE
Spot on. I had an xkr can afford one now but hopefully will be in either an XKR or Ftype in the future.
made in temu
Big mistake jaguar are making winding up internal combustion engines cars, electric cars are flawed, overpriced, poor resale prices (Ipace 1 year old depreciation 50%) , and woefully poor milage range. Hope my JLR pension is safe!
Brexit but still have to comply with green army.
A nice piece but come on 1.7t, 1.8t actually, “not much different from other performance cars”. You must be smoking something, compared to cars in its class it’s a mega fatty, Cayman GTS nearly half a tonne lighter
We see your point but the cayman is a mid-engined 1+1 sports car. Quite different from a performance 2+2 front engined coupe.
@@driven.videos come on don’t defend it, the Audi RS3 is also much lighter, c1550kgs. Don’t get me wrong i’m not an M2 basheer, i’m growing to appreciate the design that challenges our norms and the engine is magnificent. BUT please don’t defend this car as being no heavier than it’s class competitors
Be aware of fire and explosion risk. Chinese ferries restrict EV to within 10%, causing huge backlog of EVs in Hainan province after national holidays.
You are talking rubbish. BYD is famous for it's Blade battery, which is famous for not burning even if you poke holes in it. To accuse them of being a fire risk is either blatant lying or wilful ignorance.
Henry used Jesus Christ handle 😂
mine is on Order for next month
I bought my 575HP F-Type R (US) Flamethrower in 2021. It is truly a shame that the last F-Type has been produced and that there are no more new Jag's. Such a fun car. I kept my last sportscar '06 E46 BMW M3 for 219,000 miles over 15 years, I hope the Jag lasts as long, 52,000 miles and counting.
I'm looking to pick up the f type curious to great about your experience with it
You should check for electric leakage.
Not just stuff?? BYD have been making cars since 2003 the hybrid and some full electric cars at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing were BYD. they do make basically everything. Parts in any device you own sometimes of the parts is 100% made by BYD., and this has been happening for at least 40years.
Made with forced labor or lowest income personell, sold with state sponsorship for dumping pricing. If that's not enough, buy a Chinese made mixer and see it fail in 3 months 😅
Usual US China basher. Have you ever been to China? Its way ahead of the west.
WHY IS THE CAR TAXED SO MUCH ITS MUCH CHEAPER IN AUSTRALIA AND SELLS WELL BUT THE EU AND THE BRITSH GOVERMENT TAXES ARE SO HIGH.
EU failed to sign free trade agreement with Chinkastan
BYD cost cheaper than Tesla in Australia though. The reason BYD cost more than Tesla we all know why. Blame it to your own EU UNION.
Every time I find something I like I go and find reviews on it, and after a while I start passing over the positive ones saying much the same thing - I need to find a (semi) critical one that points out those things which might, if unknown, detract from the expectations of only reading positive reviews. For that, I think it is an excellent critique; making the conclusion - that the compromises and faults ultimately are exceeded by the driving experience - very worthwhile. Anyone who invests in buying this car will be better prepared. Thank you.
I must say for a " last hurrah " run off model...would have thought jag would of gone more extreme...has less power than a svr no carbon brakes , nothing really to identify it as special
Doesn’t seem like you get pops and bangs with the 4.0 6 cylinder whereas you get plenty of pops and bangs with the 4 cylinder turbo. Any comments on this?
An excellent car , I have the Premium version and absolutely love it but then again I paid 32k here in Thailand, in the uk I would have paid 45.5k !
Overall good review. A bit too much about BYD itself but I understand that it is an unknown brand. It is very interesting that some reviewers find it handles well whilst others do not. There is such a big gulf between it's reported abilities. I wonder if it's because some people review based on the badge and spec sheet and others review based on the car itself. I personally want one! But will hold off to see what Lexus does with their next gen IS but i doubt it will be nearly the same league in terms of performance at the price it is in Australia.
BYD has been making cars for almost 20 years. Not "10 years or so". BYD has been making cars before Tesla. Dynaudio is also a Danish company that is wholly owned by GoerTek. They have supplied cars like Bugatti in the past. They are not "made in house" but BYD did collaborate with Goertek to create the sound system for the Seal.

EV Jag? No thx.
Looks awesome❤, but tech is not there and the price...
V8 jags will not go away. Jaguar will do the same thing Ford did when it replaced the initial V8 in the Raptor with an "Eco-boost" V6. Only to bring back the V8 a few years later (recently) with a "new" V8 at a $30-40k premium over the V6 Eco-boost nobody asked for, wanted, or wants. Jeep did the exact same thing when it reintroduced the V8 on the Wrangler at a substantial premium a few years ago. Jaguar will follow suit. The reintroduction of the V8, after it is "taken away" will serve as a emotional/psychological mind chuck to get the consumer to look past the substantial car price hikes coming in the near future. Get ready to a V8 F-Type in the near future that will be priced 2x what it is now.
Dreaming 😂😂....these guys are retooling their factory to roll out new model of EV Saloon
Byd isn't gunning for tesla. They are going after Toyota. And Toyota are worried.
I've saved a Jaguar (R75) having sold my M3 (G80) for it. In almost every metric, the M3 was a better car and yet, I love the F type more. Much more.
A very sad moment for Jaguar. With them going 100% EV and the new EV vehicles starting at £100k+, I simply can't see a big enough market to keep them alive and I think Jaguar will be gone by the end of the decade...I hope I'm wrong.
Will not buy. Because it is Chinese. Because Chinese can spy on me
I like BYD EV
Great Video. Loved the bit with Luke and Henry 😂. Will be getting one ordered next week. My main concern will be how well they do the updates to the software. With so many models coming I hope they offer many years of updates. Especially when they are clearly not as tuned as the Tesla software. This is where they need to close the gap in my opinion. Looking forward to recreating the performance tests with my family.
I totally agree! Tesla software seems to be better than the seal and it has more apps than the seal also. They need to add the sentry mode to fill the gap
The number one car (not just ev) in China is a Tesla. So go figure.
It wasn't a war, all the Chinese government want is 100% evs ,doesn't matter by who
imagine the arses of the german competition when these will be in the european union market 🤣
Loved the review and absolutely loved your love for the Jag 👍🏼🙌🏻🤩
2025 Cayman will be all Electric!🤬😡 I just got my 2024 Cayman S and it is my fifth one!
