Hello Chef. Nice soup. I've never heard of daikon before. Read that it's some sort of radish. Maybe you can shed some light on it. Are they very popular in Chinese restaurants? Last week, I went to the Chinese grocery store and stocked up on goods. Mostly vegetables. My next visit will be in September as I have an appointment in Toronto. Today was my girlfriend and I, anniversary and make her a very nice dish. Coated pork udon noodles with mixed vegetables. She loves it. Next weekend, I'll be serving Chinese foods with people from Latin America who are visiting for two months. They are in for a treat. Until next time Chef.

Daikon ? yes it is white long radish. We, cantonese call it " LO-PAK" .In chinese restaurant, they are also used in different type of soup in small dice cuts. Some used stir fry with a little amount of thinly sliced marinated meats. Anniversary ? how nice preparation in cooking. Happy Anniversary to both of you. Chat to you next time.

You have an electric coil stove top. How do you get it so hot that you can have a wok ring to use a rounded bottom wok? Do you use a wok ring with no holes, and just turn on the coils to full when cooking?

  • @HAPPYWOK

Yes and yes it works. While in NYC we have gas stove and work good. ( WOK Hei ) But here in Seattle, only electric coil stove. Contrary to what they said, doesn't work. But you see, they still ok to use wok cooking. My wok is rounded bottom and uses wok ring with hole, still will work. Thanks for watching.

I don't used MSG, since my main ingredients are fresh, they are tasty already. I use white pepper most of the time and black pepper sometimes. MSG are being used extensively in mainland China. Early next month, I'll be making my first trip to the Chinese grocery store and I will be stocking up big time. Make the Szechwan peanuts and then turn them into a "peanut butter". There's plenty of vehicles to pair it with, like fried wonton sheets, filling celery stalks or you could thin it down and put it in noodles or coat a piece of boneless fried chicken with it.
