We are Vera & Christian and we are hobby KZreadrs. We live in Germany in a tiny village with a population of 600 and we are car and 4x4 enthusiasts. We love our Land Rovers. We do as much work as we possibly can on our cars by ourself. Our goal is, not to have any Land Rover mechanic ever touch one of our cars and so far we are successful. We build up a well-equipped workshop and we have some skills to use it. Our son Robin (19) is a black smith and our son Philipp (17) is a talented BMX rider.

Mud in Germany? That's a debacle.
You said that the engine maybe suffering from oil dilution. Diesel in the oil. Are you able to say how this happens and what you can do to prevent it. Great video as always. Thank you
G’day. You’re starting to make this all seem a little too easy now! Mastered it! Always enjoyable. Thanks 🙏
Hallelujah; you are showing the use of loosening oil. Dry nuts and bolts can be a problem. Copper grease on reassembly. 🙂
please do the double click
Another great video guys, great deal of information. Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
Can we see more of your dog? Thanks.
8:18 The torque wrench is calibrated to be held by the handle. The extra clicking does nothing, but hand placement important
I would like to know where to buy OBD2.
Dave carefully removes the anti-tamper membranes on oil bottles as to not cause a debacle, whereas Christian pierces them like a Neanderthal.
I suspect Dave uses a gun and shoots them open. Neanderthals only had Speers and stones.
Junk electric handbrake
She needs a dog. I suggest a Great Dane . I think that would match your personalities.
Always great work, I enjoy watching Landrover University .
Hi, great work both of you , and please put a notice up MIND ONES HEAD . TO SAVE VERA's head FROM further loss of brain cells . Magic all the way.😉👍💅
Kristian and Vera, please see latest video from Salvage rebuilds UK on their latest Range Rover 5.0 purchase, very interesting!
Good morning from NZ, great vid as always, hard hat may help Vera. Ok q1 can Dave not get you to redo crank and bearings plus oil pump upgrade sooner rather than later. Q2 get Dave looking for replacement engine and you rebuild yet another engine (with complete cost of all parts and time) or 3 trade in asap. I know he loves the car but if you love something sometimes you have to let it go. This is only a few thoughts a, start to build engines if you can get any you could name your own price with such high quality b, start a training vid/school such a high degree of knowledge needs to be kept and passed on, may get lucky and find a lot of younger viewers may be interested in. Yes I know it is a big leap but to loose all your knowledge would be a crime. Plus Vera will keep anyone on track and help them with the oh my god references. Stay safe as always.
THANK YOU Vera and Christian very entertaining as usual.
Entertaining and funny. The skill and patience shown here is astounding. I was wondering if Robin would be interested in highlighting a little of his work. He seems shy but very talented too.
Has anybody kept track of how many times Vera says "Oh my God!" Entertaining all the same.
You can't make this up ! Toyota owners are asking !🤣😂😁
Guys did you know that EPB module has a accelerometer in it, it measures how much it decelerates and applies brake pads just a bit instead of putting it in complete jam.
It got a force sensor to adjust a minimum force at the cables when applied. Never heard of it using the accelerometers of the car because it is usually not used when in motion. During bedding-in, monitoring is off and that is why the car should not be stopped using the hand brake - it can overload the module and brake it. Christian
Guys think about putting a bearing ball into jamming pairs in that EPB. It probbaly can crack this outer tube, but if it would not, it should prevent any future jams.
A German with a sense of humor! I thought of buying a LR disco 3 but with a V8. But you sure cured me from my infatuation. My skills are not good enough to even begin to maintain it. I am a true desktop mechanic. Still watch all your content. And Dave’s of course. Still waiting for you to record a call to a client.
What do you think about VW Touareg 7LA 3.2 petrol regarding oil viscosity? Original is 5W30, I use Shell recommendation 0W30. After viewing your videos now I`m a little bit concerned. Putting in 5W40 might cause other problems, like oil pressure, poor lubrication on specific spots in the engine...I don`t know. What is your opinion?
My opinion is, don’t drive a VW. And why messing with the oil spec? It’s not known for bearing failures. Christian
OK. I thought that it could be related to all car manufacturers to premature failure of engine with those new thin oils as you are so influencing in your videos :)
Regarding your opinion; do you think I would change over if I try LR? I meet some of them on the streets, they seem to be more lazy cars :)
I'm changing all power train oils in every 60 000km's. No matter what is manufacturer of car. ZF 8HP oils I change 3 times in one oil change, because you can get only 3-4 liters out in one time. Even in new cars power train oils can be wery dirty, because parts are not cleaned properly before assembly. I did noticed it on BMW front differential and Ford center differential.
You are a good customer of the oil industry. 👍 Christian
another great video.
Very enjoyable video thank you. I failed to fit the c clip to the L/H park brake cable on my Discovery 3. It cost me a new parking brake module!
Omg. I better install them now in Vera’s LR3. Got them already for weeks but was too lazy. Christian
We are very clever man, but you should have a mask on
Thanks. Yes.
Superb as usual..
I’m glad that I’ve managed to avoid electric parking brakes up til now.
Good job 👍
Would you know if a diff in a d3 is the same in a d4 automatic. My diff has gone in my d3. It’s a 3.54. Thanks Brian.
No, they are different. Even Auto and Manual are different. Get the exact one.
I have been thinking for long time to sell my Toyota Rav 4 and buy a LR, but every time I see this videos there is a reason that I should forget about that idea and stick to Toyota, today’s video wasn’t the exemption, when you said you even have a spare engine, it was closing case argument, I am not a LR guy, I am more into coffee and BBQ, so I will stick to Toyota 😂
You two are so good 👌👍
Somebody should have shot the good idea fairy when they came along and suggested the electronic parking brake. I have to do the rear parking brake on my L322, so any useful tips other than anti-seizing the wear points? I remember how easy it was to check and top up transmission fluid when there was the combined dipstick/filler tube for transmissions (and now engines don't have dipsticks) sigh, complex solutions to simple problems.
What’s the main cause of diesel getting into the oil? DPF rubbish…
All LR dealership Mechanics should be made to watch your video's as part of there working week..PS You should always change oil on Diesel cars every 5000/6000 max.
32:03 😳😳😳😳😲😯🥺😦😰 and Vera's worried about some chips in someone else's car?
What causes chips in the filter is the Bearing Beaver. It is trying to build a Land Rover Bearing Beaver Dam. Leave it alone, you are destroying its natural habitat.
Das schöne T-Shirt 😉
Its at times like this that am so pleased that I own and old car nothing complicated it just works and if it goes wrong you just fit a replacement part job done no starting stopping pressing knobs and buttons it just works.
I wonder if the hand brake shoes were incorrectly labeled and the left should have been in the right and right on the left? maybe the holes for the springs would then be present? anyway great ‘edutainment’ as always, bless you and your family. Really appreciate the time and energy you put into the brilliant videos every week. ❤❤❤
Ich glaube, er war in Hellsklamm in Österreich 😂
@28.47, so you must have the milk from one cow in a carton & can't mix it with milk from another cow 😉😉
@28.06, what are you trying to say about us British 🤣🤣
Bump cap is very useful, save me a few times in the loft.
Query, I've had 3 pairs of Brembo front discs in the last 3 yrs, keep warping. Someone said is my "ABS module faulty?" Never heard of this before...have you any advice why I would of warped 3 pairs of discs when I generally only brake lightly...
'Oil Dilution' - are there any two words other than these that can strike so much terror in the heart of man (or at least a man with a post-2016 JLR SDV6)? It's like having a ticking bomb under your bed.
Do your oilchanges very frequently and avoid short drives. 👍🙋♀️
@@Vera_and_Christian I avoid short drives like the plague and change oil every 8000km (I can’t afford to do it more frequently in the Netherlands) - this is for a 2018 Jaguar XJ (a sibling car with a sibling disease - like the extended Royal families of Europe suffering from hemophilia)!
One of the best youtube channels. Incredible content repairs and maintenance. Love Christian & Vera's humour & quality videos. I don't own a landrover, but there's a lot to learn for general vehicle maintenance on any vehicle
🤗🙏🙋♀️
See you next Sunday, great video and content.
@2.37, that's our British designers for you, they need Christian & Vera at Solihull
