Sunday afternoon treat is your blog now. Better than a chocolate bar by far! Definitely a weed or two in the seed bed, but also quite a lot of seed germinating. I think you are in luck. Another amazing vlog Bec. When I watch you creating your paints from scratch, by hand, I always think of the change to production of goods the industrial revolution made, and how it impacted the cottage industry. Now, some 200 years down the track, it seems to have dehumanised us somehow and fractured our communities . It is so refreshing to see the process by hand from start to finish. You lead an incredibly busy, but to my eye, creative and fulfilling life Bec…love your vlogs - thanks for sharing 🇦🇺👍🏻🇦🇺

Aww that roof and room looks like a lot of work. I don’t blame you for saying you can’t be bothered! 😂. Will your insurance company not cover all the redecorating? We love it, Sue. I must admit, it was the packaging that attracted me at first but it's a really good paper as well. They are large rolls, lots on them and it does work out better value in the long run as I think each roll is twice the size of a roll of Andrex. It's not a quilted one. I don't like quilted either. They have 2, both good but the bamboo one is a bit stronger.

Wow that was a good week of orders! Your cake decorating skills will be rather good by now. You hold the piping bags just right 😄 You work so neatly and organised, it's a pleasure to watch. Your space is pretty but also functional. A very good mix. But one thing is for sure now, you will have wild flowers everywhere next year, they are going to spring up in the grass, which is always pretty anyway. It seems a bit late in the season to be spreading them. When did the box say you could scatter them? By now you probably don't need the dehydrator to make your paints as this week is hot as heck! Too hot for me. I'd be down on the beach with my feet in the sea. Hope you aren't baking in there. My old cottage is now very warm inside and my unit is worse. Love the sea painting. That's a style you could easily adopt and you have plenty of your own seascapes around to inspire you. Hope you are having a good week. See you on Sunday!

Haha, yep should be good to go if I ever want to decorate a cake 🧁 A couple of people have menioned me being tidy and methodical. It's weird that we're unaware of so much of ourselves that other people notice. I'm not really a tidy person generally, I have clutter and stuff about but I think it's just when I'm working I like things in order. The box of seeds says to sow between Feb-June or Sept-Nov. So I think some of them are starting to grow, or possibly they're just weeds. I'm not sure. My mam thinks it's the wildflowers starting. But yep, they're gonna be in the grass too as it was so windy when I was trying to spread them. It's still pretty cold up here, Sue. It's a bit warmer this week but not really warm enough to sit out in the garden. Lucky you, getting some heat, finally. Hopefully, I will try a seascape from around here. I have all these things planned in my head but rarely actually get around to doing them.

@@TheArtSpirits You combine tidy with pretty. All your bits and bobs are pretty. Fabrics, boxes, tins, pencil holders. I want to be like that but I don't have enough space in my tiny craft/home office room. Honestly you can have the heat! It was unbearable on Tuesday. Hot as Greece but really humid and it's been humid ever since and that's what kills me. I started with a migraine during Tuesday night and I still have it now, Thursday evening. I've spent most of the last 2 days laying on the bed under a fan in a baking hot bedroom with the curtains closed. I am finally dressed, the headache has abated but the whole thing isn't over. It's a rapid temp. change migraine. It's been better outside today but now it's really windy so that makes it quite chilly this evening. Still, I'm going to connect up the hose and go water the garden. I had 4 rose bushes delivered yesterday. Got to look after them until they are planted.

Your studio looked pretty good before you tidied it up. Now it looks fab. Is it a regular garden garage building that you have lined with insulation or was it one of those garden office buildings you can buy? It works very well out there. You get lots of daylight in through the front and the silver insulation also creates light by bouncing light around. I think you could hang the bees up if you use a long enough string from the hook under the head so that the legs will sit flush to the wall. But you do need a string to do it with. I could be completely wrong of course... Wouldn't be the first time. Congratulations on hitting a personal business goal. Best weekend of sales ever! That must reflect the fact that people have more time to watch their favourite videos at the weekend. So they saw the paints on Colouring with K and Lucy Just Adds Colour during their regular video catch-up time and went straight to order. Brilliant. I do hope they get you sorted out soon. No one needs to take so many pain killers just to get through the day. I can't take codeine, it makes me feel like I'm dying. Mum can't have it either. She gets really dopy and out of it. Ibuprofen is the best pain killer for me but I'm not supposed to have it either because I have to take an anticoagulant because I have a heart arrhythmia. Sometimes I throw caution to the wind, eat something (as advised) and then take a couple if I have a migraine. But last night when I needed some, the migraine had become deeper whilst I was out and so I could not eat as I felt so sick. Just had to tough it out with Paracetamol, which don't seem to do a thing.

It's just a very large garden hut, Sue. I had double glazing installed, insulated the floor, added carpet tiles and covered all the walls and ceiling with that silver insulating bubble wrap. Oh and got electric installed. I'm really pleased with it but it's not really well insulated for the winter and I have to have the heater blasting. My mam also suggested string for those bees so I guess great minds think alike. Yep really pleased with the sales on the new sets. I need to make more of an effort to promote them on the other social media's as well. It's just finding the time for everything. I'll get there though. How's your tape business going? Thankfully, I don't need that many pain killers every day, just the worst one or two days. The rest of the time Paracetomal is sufficient. Sounds like both me and you are just falling to bits 🤣. I really feel for you having migraines, that sounds awful. My cousin also reacts badly to Codeine. It's not for everyone. I've been looking for a previous message of yours where you were telling me about what your dad found in the loft, lol. I read it but hadn't responded and now I can't locate it. So, just letting you know in case you think I didn't see it.

@@TheArtSpirits A bomb! An unexploded incendiary bomb. Apparently they were quite common finds for many years after the war. Coventry was heavily bombed. Incendiary bombs are not very big, they look like tubes with small fins one end and a rounded point. They didn't have much explosive power, just enough to detonate on impact and set a fire. I think they contained phosphorus which burns white hot. It was a single incendiary bomb piercing the lead of the roof of Coventry Cathedral that destroyed the entire church except for the spire. But many of them didn't go off and the one in our attic was like that. The houses didn't have access into the roof spaces when built so if a slate slipped or a bomb dropped in, they just went up a ladder and put the slates back on!! Dad bought the house, made access into the roof space and found it. But even more alarming really due to the time, my cousin's partner went up into her cottage roof space in a village a long way from anywhere really and found one in a dusty corner just a few years ago. Probably around 2016. She'd got lots of stuff up in her attic but hadn't ventured into the corners and edges. He didn't know what it was. Passed it down to her teenaged son and they put it on the coffee table. When she got home they asked her what it was. She had more foresight than the men and phoned the police. They in turn called out the bomb squad who had to come up from London due to it being New Year's Eve afternoon and not all bomb squads being on duty. The whole row of cottages were evacuated and the bomb taken into a nearby field and blown up! Her son has a photo of him and his mate standing in front of this huge vehicle with BOMB SQUAD emblazoned all over the front of it! I suspect there was a wartime airbase near there and it must have been a German plane either getting the coordinates wrong or dumping unspent payload on the way back home. My nan's farm was close to Coventry and close to an aircraft factory. I grew up knowing that in the bottom meadow near the river the string of grassy holes across the field was in fact a line of exploded bomb craters. Even now, every time they start digging foundations for large construction in Coventry city centre they will find at least one huge explosive bomb in the process. It's quite alarming if you think about it!

@@TheArtSpirits If you find the shed too chilly in winter, you could remove the silver insulation and replace it with building insulation. It's a sort of ridgid sheet foam in different thicknesses. You can easily cut it with a saw. It's what they insulated mum's barn home with. You would get it from a builders merchants. You could put the silver insulation back onto the front of it if you wanted because it does help the light. It would be warmer. Now her house if finally cleaned completely my next job is to buy myself a decent sized shed. We've had nowhere to put the garden machinery and tools, decorating equipment and my woodworking stuff since the barn was emptied ready for the build project. It's all in my work unit! The shed base is laid. Just got to find a good quality large shed so I get some workshop space back. I intend to line the new shed with this sheet insulation material so that I can work in it in winter. I like restoring furniture and have had nowhere to do it for 2 years now. Tapes is picking up a bit I think. But it's been a long, slow haul. Sending into the EU is still fraught with issues though. Such a pain.

@@suewilkinson910 Wow, that's crazy! So interesting though. Fancy having the full street evacuated, lol. It's hard to imagine our country was bombed like that. My grandma worked in a munitions factory when she was really young. She always used to talk about the war but I wasn't really interested when I was young. Now I'm older and find it more interesting, she's not here anymore.

@@suewilkinson910 Glad to hear the tapes are picking up. It's not always easy running a business. I haven't had any problems sending to the EU but I suppose that's because I do small letter post. I feel for you. You'd think it would be sorted out by now. I have considered the thicker insulation sheets but I dread the thought of doing the work. And I don't know how I would stick them to the roof. I wouldn't be able to use nails as it might pierce the felt on the outside. I could do with a membrane too as when it gets warm in the summer, condensation drips down on the inside. If you can't find a hut large enough, you might be able to get one made specially. That's what I had to do. It was a lot less expensive than one of those garden workshops. Don't get me wrong, I would have preferred one of those but they were 16-20 grand, unfortunately.

This was wonderful. Another amazing Sunday relaxing video. Do you still get any subscription boxes? I know this is mostly watercolor and what not but I’d love to see even stuff like the book or cactus club ones!

Hi, I have just subscribed to Sarah Burns Studio, gouache subscription. I did show it at the end of my latest vlog video and hopefully in next weeks vlog, I'll be following the tutorial by Sarah. Sorry I haven't gotten around to upload those older videos for you yet, but I will at some point. Sorry to keep you waiting.

Hi Rebecca. Was so lovely seeing your studio and watching as you prepped your paints. The presentation is absolutely filled with love and kindness. I saw both K and Lucy unboxing and raving about your paints. They looked so stunning and they both raved about your paints. Congrats to you on your sales. I’m not a water colorist BUT I’m loving how those paints looked. I’m in the USA and pondering a birthday present for July. Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you on your wellness journey. 😊

I ordered at the weekend, I brought the Alice tin and your new shards tin, after seeing them on Lucy and K's vids. Your paints are stunning and I've been after a good glittery paint and the fact you can mix with other paints is amazing. They are worth every penny so very happy defo be buying more in the future. Love this vlog series going back to watch from the start. The work you put into your paints is in incredible x
