Starkey Outdoors channel captures my life as a fishing hunting guide in NE Oklahoma. Follow me along on my guided and personal trips. We will catch crappie utilizing livescope, blue cats, stripers and other species on the many reservoirs Oklahoma has to offer. Snagging for spoonbill is my specialty as well and you will see plenty of that. Some of my videos will be informative but all of them will be entertaining. I'm also an Alaskan Big Game Guide and might share some of my Alaskan big game hunts adventures from time to time. Feel free to comment or ask questions. Please like and subscribe to my channel. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. To book a guided trip with me please visit my website. www.starkeyoutdoors.com

Looked fun, how did you guys manage to stay in place so well? Was there a buoy? you hooked up to?
Spotlock on trolling motor.
What stretch of the nav channel was this? I'm in ne ok
Rogers Point
Was in that area on our kayaks last week always lots of traffic in that area
Yep.. It gets busy.
I know you caught it in the net but that was probably close if not a state record size buffalo.
I never thought about that. I should have got a weight.
Sub’d to help out a fellow Okie. If you enjoy fishing for blues around barges, head over to St Louis and try it on the Mississippi River. Some triple digit fish in there!
I've heard they grow big there.
An ok day on the water beats the best day working!
Exactly!
Can you cast net shad on Skiatook lake
Ive seen it done but they are few and far between. Most of us guides bring our own shad.
I have fished that river for 30+ years keeps my freezer full of catfish GJ
Great video
Thanks Bud.
Very Nice !!!
Thank you.
When the bargest go through , the cats bite,, i can attest to that for a fact. Fishe the intracoastal canal in Louisiana many years , we just used shrimp never used shad or perch
Shrimp works here as well.
If you want to catch bigger fish, use bigger bait.
You’re just eliminating the smaller bite with a bigger bait. Big fish hit small bait just as well. Ive caught two 60lb catfish on small bait. If i was tournimate fishing and didn’t want to catch little ones because of time management I would use a bigger bait. However thats just my opinion and you could be right. It’s always exciting to get a hit on a big bait. Thanks for watching.
I tired the nav channel couple times this week for the first time. Only caught 1 blue it’s been tough. Trying to find the good spots Im to river fishing usually fish lakes so little learning curve. Crappie are great in there though picked off several on structure.
Good luck!
How hard was it to get birds back home
You have to have a usda approved taxidermist and all his info to give to usda in dallas. I would have 3 hrs in dallas between flights. Then you have 10 days to get the ducks to him to be inspected. No whistlers are allowed in.
We did. Thanks
Looked like you had a blast!!! 💥
Yeah its pretty gnarly. Its nit really that uncommon tho. I remember seeing this when i was a kid with a buck my Dad my took down. And i got one about 6 years ago that had this exact thing going on too. It was absolutely PACKED with corn. It was about that size, and i sliced it open, and corn just came spilling out. There was so much of it. Im not sure what causes it to happen, but it sure is pretty crazy. Real nice buck tho yoir son got! Very well done!
Cool. Good to know.
“Haven’t cleaned perch in forever” After the video, still haven’t cleaned any perch in awhile. Nice bream though
Not much return on investment for sure. However its the best tasting fish there is. IMO
Dang leave a blue for me lol. Great job!
Thank You.
Looking good men
Thanks.
How are those to eat? What’s the limit on Gar? Looks like you had a great time. I saw a few good Gar out on Lake Oologah on Saturday in the flooded timber.
No limit and good to eat. Pain to clean.
My man you can do this so much cheaper. LOTS of Utube videos.
For one, the "blue wing" is definitely a greenwing. Second, your filming sucks and you can barely see any shots. Third, if you're gonna show the birds at least make sure they're dead first.

I did a lot of fishing in San Francisco Bay for Stripers and Halibut and you would always catch fish after a tug boat cruised by. Something about the props churning up food off the bottom gets the fish crazy and into eating. Maybe the same thing happens with barges.
Absolutely.
I live in Phoenix but I'm from Eufaula. I'm going back home in July and I'm going to be shore fishing for Flats. My biggest is when I was 10 and it was 35lbs off a Limb Line. Got any tips for me ? I'll be in Carlton Landing side of lake
Live baid for flatheads. Perch and I'd fish in the creek channels or around log jams. they will be post spawn by then. Best of luck.
@@StarkeyOutdoors thanks brother. I'll let you know how it goes
Is this near will rogers point
No. Oologah lake.
@@StarkeyOutdoors that is Oologah?? Lol
@@mattsteidley9405 Your right. I thought you meant on the Nav channel. Yes, it was in that area.
@@StarkeyOutdoors I see what you mean. Thanks!
We don't have that many in Table Rock. I have caught almost my limit this year. Planning on getting live scope. I use a gaff. But I only do it to the ones I keep. Old shovel handle and sharpened screw in hook.
Cant use gaffs in Okla anymore. Our limit is 2 per year to keep. It was 3 per day when I was a kid. There is still millions of them though. I livescope them when they are shallower.
Walmart sells 5200 in big tubes 21$
Great video, where did you get the lasso?
Its a livestock whip i got from amazon. Gust tied a ring on the end.
Do u ever dip your cut bait in bills stink bait
Great video!!!
Thank you!
Great edit, Jerry! -Phil Schmidt
How do you like this rod compared to other 13’ rods. Is the balance and weight decent?
Since I designed it myself Id say I love it. It has a great backbone and is the same weight as others. If you start shaving the weight too much you loose integrity.
@@StarkeyOutdoors agreed! That was my fear with the lighter stuff coming out. I ordered one last week, should be here in a couple days!
@@Re-liner_outdoorsHope you like it.
Hey were you at oolagah last sunday?? Swore i saw a sea ark at spencer cove.
IDK.. Its possible but I think I was elsewhere.

Oologah❤️❤️❤️. Blue Cats are my second favorite, Crappie #1. Also it’s awesome you are passing the passion for fishing and boat safety along to the kids.
Its close with me.. I love them both equally.
Great video Starkey, enjoyed watching !!
Thank you.
Flutter spoons are killer on cats
Good to know.
👍🏼
Thanks.
Nice job my friend it's good to see the kids outside away from video games having fun enjoying themselves, a great little video!
Thanks. My kids get to fish all the time but some of their friends don't have that luxury. Its great to show them a good time.
I bet they had a blast 👍🏼
We all sure did.
Awesome class and great teacher 👏
Thanks Ron.
Good job boys!
Thank You.
Well I thought it was our rod...lol
Hey I recognize that rod
Good job boys!
Thanks.
Awesome!
Thank You.
What length shaft is on your Ultrexx? I have a procat 240 and I’m thinking of putting 1 on mine.
Id get the 60 or better for big waves. Mines a 60 but id get the new brushless model. I run my batts down after 6 hrs in big water.
