This is Hops & Gnarly, a home brewery and production studio located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains! My name is Dan and I'm completely obsessed with brewing beer. I like the hoppy stuff. Something like a hoppy lager or a hazy IPA makes me feel right at home. But I also like the gnarly stuff. If I see a Saison, Wild ale, or even a quick sour on tap, I pretty much automatically order it.
Now, let's make some beer!

My fermentation chamber is my pantry 😂I hope my set up is this magnificent one day
stupid down
😮 Do ALL beers 🍻 have gelatin in it?
That is a incredible looking bit of kit , cheers from over the pond 👍🍻
Dude! What was all the hate about? Im gonna hit that bell so i dont miss any "click bait."
Excellent thank you for a great video! 🍻
Dziękujemy.
Thanks man 🙏🏼🍻
Love the setup! Great inspiration.
Wow that was some amount of whining over a thumbnail 😮 ❄️ Loving the evolution of the brewery and taking notes for when my time comes. Keep 'em coming 🍻
Appreciate you 🍻
POV your a yuppie
Good video! Sorry everyone is so mad about a thumbnail. If something that small is so upsetting you need to drink more homebrew lol
Hahaha everyone take a sip!
I'm jealous of that glass door 🤤
Gotta keep an eye on them tanks! 🍻
Buncha babies in the comment section!
💯
Big thumbs down for the stupid clickbait thumbnail
Thanks, updated it
I guess that free ferm chamber comes with a minimum number of views, hence the clickbait tactics? Either way, a dislike from me. Just don't! You've got good content, great editing, so why stoop so low?
I didn't think it was low but updated it for ya'll 🍻
I generally really liked your videos Dan, but the title and thumbnail are definitely misleading. Kind of disappointing when you do good content otherwise. The ferm chamber looks cool though. I just don’t know if I’d prefer this over a glycol system, it’s just way bigger.
Fair enough! Who knew a thumbnail could be so triggering - just updated it for ya'll
@HopsANDgnarly Yeah don't get me wrong, you got me all hooked on the MiniUni tanks so I eventually got my hands on them and they're great, but I think in this very situation making a video which is 50% about a ferm chamber and then setting an expecation in the thumbnail / title for the viewer which wasn't really met, well that may be disappointing. But like I said, I generally always tune in when you release a video.
Damn sweet setup… this video reminded me how poor I am loll😂
don't worry, with a inkbird, a greenhouse heater and used fridge you will do the same for 80$.
Click bait
More like "My brewery is a bit messy and a sponsor gave me a cool new toy". This video is fine, but the title and thumbnail is just insulting to your viewers.
Not tryna insult anyone just making vids for ya'll. Updated the thumbnail
I like the product, but just can't get around the fact that it won't let you control two fermenter temps independently...
Yea that’s def the downside to ferm chambers
You go Dan the Man….
I found a way to fit the Spike CF10 into the RAPT Fermentation chamber by cutting out two of the side shelf supports right where the top fermenter band clamp is, then filling that in with flat plastic and some fridge caulk/epoxy. I can share pics if you want. I had planned on a rolling ramp for getting the full CF10 in and out, but it's easier to just fill the fermenter in-situ and leave it there during fermentation, then take it out once it's empty. I love it, it's easier to deal with than glycol in my opinion. I couldn't figure out how to do 2 mini-unis in there, but I think 2 of the clawhammer keg fermenters or similar wouild definitely work too. Will be curious how you like it, and whether Kegland works with Brewbuilt or others to make a compatible stainless steel fermenter that works with it.
Awesome!!
I’m guessing this went in because it was free. Sheds tight enough already. I’d be making that my kegorator 😝
I’m actually super stoked to use it! You wouldn’t believe how much condensation I’m getting on tanks out here using glycol
I was looking forward to watching something new from you but disappointed you made a clickbait thumbnail that has nothing to do with "brewery is destroyed". unsubscribed.
No one wanted you here anyways 🫡
@@kaspergrntved3209 can smell your brown nose from here
Be gone then!
Hahaha thanks for the heads up bro
Even still dude is looking class 🤘 can’t wait to see what comes next.

"Beer"
I tried making a hefeweisen for the first time, open fermented and all. I way over shot my gravity on it too 🥲 I usually have pretty poor efficiency and was not expecting a 1.061. Finished around 1,014. Still tastes great with loads of caramelized banana with a clove background. Just a bit too sweet for my taste.
Why you don't provide the recipe in some general file format?
Great setup! What material is that little chute under your mill? Love that idea.
Got VolanTOLD to do a Turkey beer for thanksgiving. Used turkey broth and gravy. It was awful and I made sure they drank it for making me make it.
That outro song and b roll is dynamite.
You got a gem now. That company Smith company isn’t in business or was bought by a commercial foeder company. Hopefully a new homebrewers friendly company comes around in a couple years. Would LOVE to start my own Solaris project.
My new Mexico native died after the 3rd year. Monsters for 3 years then nada year 4. 8-(
I live in Texas its already basically triple digits. Can I still plant rhizomes in that kind of heat?
The only thing I hate about brewtools is they uses all kind of size of TC that is pain in the ass.
Dude love the setup and the videos. Have been looking at getting a setup going soon. Thanks for the inspiration!
If you freeze wet hops is there a chance for it to get mold?
This is pretty similar to a beer I made a few month back. I used the same Vienna rye but I split the base malt with Pilsner malt. I pitched thomasgaard kveik and omega “all the Bretts”. The 10 gallons have been sitting in a keg in my garage ever since. Thinking I’ll try it soon. I did boil mine. Cheers
I followed the rules. I plucked all the bull shoots. And now all the new ones coming up are purple and look like bull shoots again. Do I tear it back down again?
Where can find the result?
Recommend some rhizome sellers?
Great video and information! I'm thinking of growing some hops and this was very informative. Looking forward to brewing with my own hops!
Did you add both yeasts at the same time?
What brand heating pad did you use? Nice setup!
Good video. I wish you went into how to use the fresh hopes in brewing your beer.
haha okay now brew one with the other rosin

I really enjoy your videos, Dan! Nice vibe and goodtimes. Cheers from Norway
Cheers man 🍻
I just kegged this. What has been everyones experience with not using a floating dip tube. Im thinking I need to switch to one to avoid the pulp or is that just the first few pints?
Excellent video as always!
