Clean your lines every week?! You're making me feel bad, Dan! I clean my lines every time a keg gets emptied, which is about once every couple months.

Hahaha I should have mentioned the cleaning keg! Just keep one ready to go and it only takes a few minutes

Joshua, I would say once a month is enough. Cleaning them every week is not required by any means. The lines and beer are kept cold, so spoilage in the lines isnt big problem. If you'll want to play safe, do the beerlines with ultraflex, it's industry standard hose on high end beer bars. Evabarrier and other lines work fine for years, it's not rare that in bar industry the lines are changed every 10 years. If cleaned properly with adequate cleaning agents like P2, or any potassium hydroxide based cleaning solution, the lines are going to be fine for at least 5 years.

Great reminders Dan! I think it’s time for me to clean some stuff, I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned any of my ball locks 😂

I noticed you have the oxebar kegs. Have you done an overview and review of these? I have 3 and I have a love hate relationship with them, but that actually goes for all keg land products lol

Kegland should offer an option of just buying the red seals only vs having to get the complete seal kit. I've had two break on my two Nukataps. As for switching out lines every year and cleaning every week, I have to disagree. I've had the EVA Barrier going two years and my beers are still tasting great. I clean/sanitize my lines about every two kegs. I at least do a hot rinse/sanitize after each keg is kicked. The EVA Barrier and Duotight push to connect fittings are a game changer.

Yea they’re definitely a game changer! I just keep a cleaning keg ready to go and quickly run it through each line. Takes a few minutes but I kinda enjoy it

As for packaging I bought a Duofiller, it came very quick and I love it! I did see that that Kegland just started making there own version that looks like it has a ton of features on it that I wish the duofiller had, looks around the same price as well. Cheers dude!

Those are the exact two I'm looking at! Might just have to wait as the duo filler is out of stock and the keg land one isn't available in the US yet

Really good info! I will say that a lot of what you recommend is on the extra careful/clean side. I definitely do not clean my lines every week, but do every time I swap out kegs. I also have never disassembled my posts and cleaned them in 1.5 years, probably should though, not that I've had any contamination issues but just to be safe.

For the lines I just keep a cleaning keg for flushes ready to go and hook it up to each tap real quick. Crack those keg posts open! It’s pretty fun tinkering with all this stuff

Just did about all of this last week. Although at first I cleaned everything and sent cleaner through the lines, only to realize there was still crud on there. If you are taking the time to disassemble everything, just throw new lines on.

I have an ongoing issue with these red seals, my nukataps leak often due to breaks. I raised the issue with kegland, they said that using food safe lubricant can help, don't have enough data yet to support this recommendation

I don’t believe I’ve had any leaks caused by those bushings but I was surprised to see such a high percentage of them broken. Felt good to replace all the seals though. I’m planning to keep an eye on those and see how long it takes for them to break again
