Hi from New Zealand! This channel is probably music themed, mostly. I have a great passion for playing the Piano and the Pipe Organ so those should be my primary videos on this channel.
Never has such a simple pattern sounded so powerful. That beginning with the blowers turning on is just spinechilling

After having a major re-configuring of the space in the front of the church I attend, we had a most terrifying moment. The organ console, which had been disconnected and moved out the construction area, had been re-connected and our organ tech flipped the switch. Every stop and every note fired all at once! The organ crew, and all of the trades workers jumped about 20' in the air from the blast. It was not how things were going to start up now, but rather the beginning of a situation which has led 10 years later to having to replace the entire control system of the organ.

I don't know why that simple chord progression sounds so satisfying. It's part of music theory that I don't have. But i can recognize the call and answer with a resolve, and it sounds sweet to my ears.

i have a side-story in a fantasy world i've been building about a genius inventor that gets like, a divine blueprint vision basically?? and then gets driven to madness building the first ever pipe organ in this world, out in the middle of the deep woods where a cult forms around it yadda yadda. and lemme tell you when i heard the startup sound ohohoho boy it put me right in there!! imagine walking into a massive, ornate, seemingly empty building in the woods only to be greeted by that haunting sound, an unfamiliar one, that grows louder and louder and echoes on the walls, through the floor, and right into your bones. chills mannn

Such a lovely instrument installed in a room with carpet and padded seating. Nobody will ever hear the full majesty of this instrument. This church would be better off selling the pipe organ and getting themselves a nice digital instrument. They could sell this Létourneau in a heartbeat, well, in a few other continents anyway 😉 OR installing tile floors and lightweight movable chairs (much less expensive too). Just my humble opinion, which is worth about the usual two cents. The fact is, padding and carpeting have no place in a church. They are perfect breeding grounds for bacteria and odor and change the acoustic drastically in a negative way.
