    Fantastic video! Do you recall what the water temperatures were like?

  • @skibarron
    @skibarron2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Dan, we used a 5 mil with no hood and I believe the temps were 78 - 80 degrees. I was surprised that the water temp was not even noticed. I think that it gets cooler the later in November / December and into the winter months. We must have hit it just right!

    @@skibarron Make sense. I've heard that November is actually one of the warmest months to dive - that's why I'm thinking of that to.e of year. How did you like the Explorer?

    @@danflaherty1132 I was told by Blue Water Travel and Photo, that it was the best Liveaboard he had ever been on. It was our first, but I must say, they treated us all like royalty. The staff was helpful and the ship was awesome. The food was really good and we enjoyed every minute of it. We went with some friends and we would all recommend Nautilus Explorer. We also made friends onboard with others, one gentleman was on his 46th liveaboard and he thought Explorer was great. Thanks for your question. Jack

    Where is the best place to see whale sharks without so many people around?

  • @skibarron
    @skibarron4 жыл бұрын

    Hi Victoria, there are many places in the world to see whale sharks but when you have a large concentration of these animals you will also have the greater amount of people to view them. Especially when it is so conveniently located near a destination such as Cancun Mexico. Fortunately for the whale sharks, the Mexican government has put in place regulations monitoring the time limit of the adventure operator guides that help to lessen the impact of humans. Here is a list of places around the world you can look up that also have whale shark tours that may not have as many people: Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Baja California, Mexico. Gladden Spit, Belize. Donsol Bay, Philippines. Ningaloo Reef, Australia. South Ari Atoll, Maldives. Koh Tao, Thailand. Cenderawasih Bay, Indonesia. I hope this answers your question.

    Hey Jack, Im the guy you ran into at the Harbor freight store about those Apache case and we got to talking. I absolutely love this footage the musical goes very well with it! I think you can break up this video into a couple parts the first song when it ended would of been a great time to fade to black and video end there then break up the rest of the songs into more videos. So that way you have more content on your channel and people stay interested and what to look for more, and so you don't feel rushed or backed up making one big video. Just food for thought! Love watching all this!

    Hey Gunner, thanks for the comments and suggestions. I really put this together so I can have a comprehensive documentation of the entire trip all in one place. Although I do have plans to make a condensed version of the video but I am now just about to publish our 2017 trip in the next couple of weeks, so watch for it to come out soon! It was good meeting you in the store last week and thanks again for the suggestions!

    Hi Jack. Incredible footage. We're looking forward to getting video like this on our trip May 2018. In the market for a GoPro or possibly an Intova X2. The reason for including the X2 is that it includes a led light. I noticed you were using a light as well. What kind were you using. Thank you!

    Hi John, Glad you liked the video. I am using 2 - Light In Motion GoBe 700 Lumen each, lights on a tray that came as a kit. My advice is to get as much light as you can afford. Two lights are always better than one! The tray helps to control camera movement and steady the shot. I always shot the video with a PolarPro Switchblade Red filter with a macro glass bubble (when macro is needed)along with the 2 lights. The Red filter is a MUST. I shoot the video at 30fps and 1080P at the medium setting. Other settings distort the outside edges of the shot. Sorry this was long! Have a great scuba trip!

    Hi there! I'm a design student and currently working on an university project concerning an AR diving mask. I need some nicely detailed underwater videos as footage for a promotional video and I was wondering if I could use this video specifically, since it looks really great. It would be great if you'd allow me to use it. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me on my email: [email protected]

    Hi, glad you enjoyed the video! We were back in Bonaire in late Sept. and saw the seahorse at the north end of Invisibles. We see the frogfish at Barri reef and Something Special. As always, check with your dive company to find out the latest sightings. Enjoy your trip and let us know what you see and where also! Thanks once again, Jack

    Did you keep the macro lense on the whole time you filmed?

  • @skibarron
    @skibarron7 жыл бұрын

    Hi Hailey, I usually have my GoPro on the medium field of view setting. I find the wide setting is too far and narrow does not give me enough field of vision. I use the 'Switch Blade" red filter along with the macro. The red filter is great for the white balance and use the macro portion of the switchblade only on the very close up shots. Hope that helps! Let me know if that answered your question. Jack

    Have you used the switchblade macro lens on 1:43? How doyou get a large object to be in focus like this? I have the switchblade 2.0 and can't focus on large objects , only small things like a gopro 4 battery. do you have any tips?
