Hi Ash, I remember having watched your videos when I was 12 and 13. You inspired me to learn about trans and queer identities and played a part in me figuring out that I am a trans man. After coming out, I fell into self-hating transmedicalist ideologies and found myself renouncing open minded people like yourself. Luckily I was able to overcome that when I got out of my hometown and met fantastic confusing beautiful people of all genders and sexualities and walks of life. I’m 20 now and 3 days ago I finally underwent top surgery. It made me think of you and how I watched your top surgery related content with so much longing and envy; I’m so glad to see that you, your spouse, and your children are doing well.

I think one of the issues is... back at uni I would have felt comfortable coming out as enby. Sure, there are some queerphobic students/profs as well, but overall the culture was a lot more chill. Maybe especially *because* some might think that 'it's just a phase, they're still young'. I would't feel physically safe to come out at my (current) workplace. Which basically means I can't medically transition in any way that's too obvious, can't legally change my name, and if I were to be out with local people in my private life I'd have to be careful about nobody at work getting wind of it. So yeah, older enby people exist, we might just be a bit more hidden. Great video, thank you to everybody for sharing their perspective :)

I'm a genderqueer grandmother of 77 from Northern California. It delights me that my grandchildren's generation have gifted me with words that actually describe me. I'm comfortable in the body I was born in; that could be inertia, however. But to me, a body's a body. I'm grateful to mine for my four children, but I don't much care about that ability anymore. Glad to have given birth, but much more interested in my inner masculine these days, and finding new and fun ways to express that. And if the kids are shocked? Seriously. Have we met? Love to all

The amount of bullshit and personal hell that Ash had to dig through to put together this very well structured video that is essentially a documentary deserves a statue with their weight in gold.

most people refer to your pronouns based on secondary SEX characteristics not solely on how you fit in cultural stereotypes so if you where confused why you get missed “gendered” then… now you know. It’s caused by biological differences that you still have that is common or apart of the opposing sex like your voice or you know. Before judging others maybe we should think before we speak. Good day 🙂

Im male but nonbinary and only dress feminine and worried about the flight attendant interview dressing according to my gender expression. Im wondering if i should put on my man disguise to avoid possible hiring discrimination. What are your thoughts on this? Should i go to the interview under cover and then show up to training dressed feminine or should I just show up to the interview dressed feminine and risk discrimination?

This series of videos was so very formative for me, thank you for creating it and having it be available online! I ended up meeting an Ace person and in part thanks to these videos I was already decently informed so they didn't have to explain it to me. To this day I'm very good friends with them and ended up meeting my husband through them!
