This lap was run in 2018. As far as I know, no one on the E9x M3 platform has done better. But someone has a new E90 build that should beat it. Will be fun to see what happens.

Awesome driving! You brake hard into the corners too. You're fast as f, but if you are trying to shave more, it looks like you can trail into hairpin 3's apex rather than stab before!

Deep to be a bit more patient with the trail braking ! For example like in turn 3 seems like your released the brakes too quick which caused the front end to pop back up giving u some understeer

Thanks. Yeah Buttonwillow is very challenging because it has so many features that don’t have clear paths. And now the pavement is getting rougher. Plus you gotta learn which berms to attack and which berms to stay away from. Have fun out there! I’ll be back out there Dec 17/18.

haha don’t have any bucket of bolts around. However, I did a 1:58 in a stock powered E92 M3, no aero, full weight. Just suspension, brakes and tires.

@@LT64444 These days I run race slicks, usually Pirelli DH. The Pirelli sizing maximizes what I can fit on the car, and the grip is awesome. I get 15 usable heat cycles out of the Pirellis. They can do a few more after that but the grip is way down.

Amazing speed control from turn 8 and turn 9, I like your line from 3-5.

3-5 is definitely a tricky combo----so many ways to get it wrong.....haha. With 8-9, you can't wait too late to brake, and you need to stay away from the outer edge entering 9 because you have some good camber up to about 2/3 of the way out, but then the pavement flattens at the edge and you have no grip out there. Don't ask me how I know.......

AIM Solo 2 DL connected to the CAN bus (not OBD) collects all the data. The software that builds the onscreen gauges and renders the video is Race Render.

@@robbsgarage The specific M overlay as you are calling it is a template I built from scratch. It's not a publicly available thing. I took a photo of my dash gauges and then made that the background of the speed and RPM needles. And then I built the rest of the template gauges. For me, it was worth the effort because it gives the videos a unique look.

Thanks! Just be patient and build speed as you learn the course. Yes, I still run the car. Just did SuperLap Battle at COTA a few weeks ago. But, the car is in Colorado right now, prepping to head to the East Coast-Road Atlanta and VIR. Have fun at Spring Mtn! Fun place!

The Carousel is so tricky to go fast. Still learning it. But when you can go full throttle from the apex through the exit----yes it is satisfying!

For 9 years and 250+ track days, very reliable. 10th year--everything aged out. Swapped motor, clutches and many other parts.

@@flsupraguy No. since the other motor held up under 9 years of supercharged track abuse-and the failure was a head gasket that we caught before a big failure--we swapped in the motor from my street E92 M3 and are putting the original back in the street car as a safety backup again.
