    3-5 is definitely a tricky combo----so many ways to get it wrong.....haha. With 8-9, you can't wait too late to brake, and you need to stay away from the outer edge entering 9 because you have some good camber up to about 2/3 of the way out, but then the pavement flattens at the edge and you have no grip out there. Don't ask me how I know.......

    Great lap and the trans tuning is spot on in that car. Really balanced looking car and pulls pretty hard on the straights too. I'm going to be doing some more time trail stuff. Currently do optima but want to do stuff like super lap battle grid life. Curious where I'd stack up. I ran willow a couple months back on 200 tw 70% worn oit Falken rt660 305 30 19 square. Not many mods but springs sway bar. 420-450 wheel hp and heavy at 3780 lbs with me. It's an 8 speed auto 2016 camaro ss and went 1:28.73. So on that day it was a lot faster than most others. But don't know how to compare that to faster car something like I'd ran against in street mod class grid life. Is that a decent time on 200 treadwear tires?

    I think your lap time is quite good with that setup. Super Lap Battle, in particular, is VERY competitive. Their Street class is SUPER competitive. You could get a taste of Global Time Attack in November at Buttonwillow. I'm signed up for that one. And if you wanna chat more, visit my build thread. Lots of nice people over there: www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1158445

    I average 1:25 on the z4 m40i. Ur axtually better than most (especially Americans) at this track. People get 5-10 seconds slower than you in a c8 corvette. No wonder you see most people in a c8 at the drag strip or highway straight line racing. They simply are awful in corners. Growing up with nascar, fast and furious, and drag strips everywhere and full every day doesn't help American car "enthusiasts". People here buy track cars and make it have even more aero and add spoilers thinking adding spoilers will make it go faster in a STRAIGHT LINE. The sheer stupidity is astonishing. Then they take their track car to the drag strip. I took one of thesr drag strip Queens to a track as I dared him. Willow springs matter of fact. Tuned 2021 supra around 650whp on a "chill" map, time??? No faster than 1:45, not even once. Averaged 1:52 at big willow the entire time. He said "tracks aren't important" and ran right back to the drap strip to get like 0.0001 seconds faster in thr quarter mile. Stuoid

    @@7speedM it is most people (as it is when it comes to Americans who grew up with fast and furious movies ("Racing" in straifht lines), nascar, again straifht lines essentially, and drag strips everywhere, straifht lines, and highway racing, straifht lines), they are AWFUL in corners. I took a drag strip queen who's always wasting time at the drag strip and somehow thinks he's a "pro racer", to big willow. The idiot in a 650whp 2021 supra couldn't get any faster than 1:45. That's fuking 20 seconds SLOWER than this guy, another guy got 1:29 in a c8 in anotjer youtube video. A c8, something I'd easily get 1:22 in and I'm being conservative. Very conservative

    haha thanks! WSIR has a few tricky moments like exit of Turn 2 and dealing with Turn 9. The T3,4,5 (the Omega) combo can be tough to get right and is important to get right for a fast lap time. Good luck this weekend!

    @@LT64444 These days I run race slicks, usually Pirelli DH. The Pirelli sizing maximizes what I can fit on the car, and the grip is awesome. I get 15 usable heat cycles out of the Pirellis. They can do a few more after that but the grip is way down.

    Normal oil temps?

  • @7speedM

    @7speedM

    3 жыл бұрын

    The oil temp needle you see in the video below the RPM gauge is showing real oil temp data from the car. It increased a fair amount in just one maximum pace hot lap like that. (Data captured from the CAN bus by an AIM Solo 2 DL.) Anyway, the supercharger adds heat. But I can get at least 2 full on hot laps in a row going full time trial maximum pace before temps are a problem. The tires aren’t any good for longer and need a break too. If I slow a few seconds, then heat is not much issue and I can run full HPDE sessions.

    Not bad actually for an e90. Is this tuned? Is it still the oem engine?
