Where in the manual does it say thicker oil?

Wow where is this the back is so beautiful love the mountain shot

Legitimate question. Why would you tap off the speaker instead of the factory 8"sub?
I don’t know the answer. You could do either I think.
Solid summary. I recently traded in my 2023 MK8 GTI Autobahn for an FL5 Type R, but I had it for about 8 months and it was my second GTI. I agree with pretty much everything you said. The tech as a package was good, but I had my fair share of issues but I didn't let it bother me too much. And yeah the hill start assist was total trash. I stalled during a test drive 2 or 3 times on the hill just because I was so damn confused. Main reason I got rid of it was because I just didn't see it aging or lasting very long. The interior looks great now but down the line will look, feel, and function terribly in the future. I miss my MK7 because of how beautiful it was inside and out but I was just looking for more performance. But my new FL5 reminds me a lot of my old MK7 in that regard, except it's got boatloads of performance to keep me satisfied in its stock form for years.
FL5? Congrats! I would make that move too!
Top complaints, I have to eat, sleep, and sheet so I can’t drive it all the time

What audio system would you recomend for under 500
Hard to get much for that. I like kicker
I see scratches on my door paint as people's shoes hit the paint getting out of the car 😢
Hopefully they buff out
I want to see it tuned to stage 1 0-60 times on Manual transmission
I may do this down the road.
Great video, love your perspective. I have nearly identical except dsg- one thing I would say that if you do 'baby it' you will get a lot more than 30mpg- I have managed a shade over 48mpg on my trip to work (mostly motorway with some B road!
Yeah I need to baby it on a road trip and I think I can do much better.
I currently own a 2022 C300, and I'm thinking about trading that in when the new Golf R 8.5 comes out in 2025. Great review!
Thank you!!
I have the older version of this subwoofer. Do you know if i could just unplug the old one and plug the new one in??? Thanks
Probably?
dude, forget the car, look at the background, just stunning!!!
Thanks!
What drone are you using?
DJI but I can’t remember the model
that's why they invented DYNAMATT to get rid of all the tinny rattles Im my '09 I put DYNAMATT in my doors/trunk IT was AWSOME!
I couldn’t hear you
My first car was a golf mk6 GTI, since then I’ve had an A250 sport, golf mk7R, 2x a45 amgs, bmw m135i and 2017 Audi rs3; amongst a few others, my favourite car was always the golf R. So much so, that I recently bought a mk7.5 R. It’s just such a great all rounder. For anyone on the fence. Go for the golf, there’s a reason it has the cult following it does
I agree with you!
Compared to 99% of other cars the blind spots behind your shoulders are the worst. This is a car you have to rely completely on your side mirrors when changing lanes.
With all the tech no
Ouch. Are you gonna sell it? 😅
Why?
This video was a waste of my time
Have a nice day
What forced you to watch it?
I had a 2014 srt8 manual and the launch control on that was a little different. I thought you could set it and dump the clutch. Not so much. If you dumped the clutch it would wheel hop like crazy. You had to slip the clutch on those.
Yeah
I have a 2024 BRZ and I love it ❣️. I will not sell it‼️ Gonin60 you were one of the reason I bought a BRZ‼️
That means a lot! Thank you! Enjoy your sweet ride!
GR86 is not for everyone. A good price point to take you from point A to point B. People will always complain about something when there is really nothing to complain about when wanting something simple and affordable. 💯👍🏽
Thanks
I got a 192 version as my first car loads of documentation no warning lights on dash its in repair shop atm for bodywork rust soon as i get it back im going to get a friend to sit beside me as my instructor feels im ready to drive my car.
Enjoy!
The "warm up the car before driving" myth has be debunked so many times. My wife and I had this argument and we both searched the internet and spoke to mechanics. To my surprise almost all of research showed that there is no real reason to "warm up" today's cars. Absolutely no benefit at all. They are not tractors. They are state of the art vehicles that do not require you to warm them up at all.

What year of challengers come with the option to set the theme to the one you did?
Mine was a 2019
The s2k can’t drift though.
Um they do
I would never buy the mk8. The mk7.5 is too good, better. 🤞they do something awesome with the mk8.5 so I can upgrade.
To each their own
Great content on a badass Street Muscle Car! With my Scat I went with the 392 with the ZF 8 speed, it's over a second faster ET, and easier to deal with in heavy traffic every day. I used to have the Tremec on my RT Shaker.
Thanks for sharing!
DO NOT buy the 8”! Awful! 😢
8?
Cool review! Not the same car, but I'm debating between a WRX and a GTI for mostly city driving and don't necessarily need AWD.
Tough. I would go GTI
Just be smart about how you operate. Last summer in El Paso TX we hit over 65 days straight with 100°F to 115°F 🔥 . Never drove crazy during the daylight hours and let the car cool down before turning off. Now im on Washington PNW and this weather is heven for my "car".
Thanks!
When i do get on it i makes sure it's at least 185°f . After every drive i wait for the temp to go down before stoppint the engine. I baby it yes but i want to get every mile out of that $48k

I would like somebody here would give an opinion I’m confused and don’t know what to get is between the 2024 wrx tr or the 2024 Honda Civic Si I when and test drive both and honestly they both drove nice the Subaru is more expensive then the civic Si but I’m undecided at the moment can you guys help me to make my decision a little easier I would appreciate it
I personally wouldn’t pay money for the TR. Get a lower trim. There are so many factors to consider. WRX will be faster. Honda Civic Si will get amazing mpgs. Shifter feel on the si will be better. Do you need all wheel drive?
I used to own an Audi TT, same car. It could do a really fast 0-60 I mean if you want to be good friends with your mechanic. You have to do bad things to that car to get it off the line quickly. And btw I have a WRX now and have grown to despise that Bosh AWD system the German cars use. And your pulls are just fine.
I love Audi TTs. You are right. Thanks for watching!
should have kept this one.
Thanks
I have a '23 golf R in white DSG. I was really thinking of getting the manual but decided not to. Prior to the Golf I owned a Miata in manual, The short shifter was the best. Good on you for keeping the manuals alive in the US as there not sold anywhere else in the world. I'd love to know if you plan on doing any mods like Stage 1 tune and boltons. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on an APR stage 1 tune on mine. Great content dude, keep it up!
Thanks for the comment! Right now I just have a cold air intake. I have thought about tunes but haven’t quite determined yes or no. I get conflicting info on what these clutches can handle.
@@Gonin60 from what I’ve heard is the high torque tunes are the ones that may pose some problems until the TCU get unlocked. That being said the low torque tunes are pretty standard and very nice HP gains.
@@tayowaugh2546 I may need to do that! Do you know any KZreadrs or videos that speak of that?
@@Gonin60 kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZoyczKeYY8jMZrw.htmlsi=pImhdEITJW95DX54 is good, he has a while series on tuning his MK8 R. And also Volkswizard KZread channel. If you dig threw his content you can find a comparison video where he drives back to back stock and tuned R’s
I'd fur sure take it in my mustang!!!!
Okay
Carwow tested DSG R 0-60 with 4.03s. This car is pretty quick
Thanks
Beautiful view of the temple & you live in a nice neighborhood thats rad
Thanks!
You sacrifice a lot of performance potential when going with a manual Golf R. I still have love for a manual transmission. If it were my money though, I’m getting the DSG. VW makes mediocre manuals, but they make an excellent dual-clutch transmission. I find my DSG GTI to be just as entertaining as my previous Jetta GLI 6-speed. It’s just fun in a different way.
I agree. DSG is the way to go. I just really like manuals.
I definitely feel those times are respectable, especially considering the conditions you were working under. Is it only the automatic that has launch control in the Golf R? I know they have it in the manual Camaro (1LE package, at least), but I also know that's kind of uncommon.
Yep only the auto
Nice runs! My 23 WRX manual with no mods gets sub 6 second pulls. sacrifice some time on the runs having a manual but 1000 times better. cheerss
Nice! Manuals are always better!
Would be neat to see all your previously owned cars 0-60 times. Seeing how they all compare with each other. Pretty sure you did some of these runs with your v8’s.
I have all that footage. I could do a best of each. Only problem is they all were done at different times of year but I can do that if you like!
Bro this guy cannot shift bro! I can do it 0.8 seconds faster bro. I can do these number in my Corolla bro. Just kidding 😜 I feel you on the dumb comments 😂 Nice runs man. I think it is good for the power it has. My manual Scat Pack widebody Challenger best 0-60 on stock tires is 4.9 Sec And I get 5.1 Sec consistent repeatable. And that is on sea level. There is just no way on earth you will keep up with modern automatics & get the claimed numbers with manual! You have to sacrifice a little for the stick
Hahah you get it!
101dB vs 111dB difference is not "little bit", there is a huge gap. Although RF is using a closed type cabinet, pressure level so much higher due to actual power.
Thanks warrior
@@Gonin60 Sorry if I was rude, I'm just being technical. Nice video by the way. Are you still using the same sub and what are your current opinions?
No doubt M6! On my second Scat Pack and 2nd M6! Can’t and won’t do automatic! Idgaf about being the fastest by a damn second 😂 have at it. I’ll be banging through my gears on my WB Scat on the twisties revving her up smiling ear to ear here in Pa! But fr, get what you enjoy! My preference is M6!
Right on!
Can't wait for the mustang... So many good memories brother :) You're the best Aust! I need you to do a detail on my old Tacoma.
Tons of great memories man! Miss you. Need to hear how the Tacoma is coming along.
This man speaks the truth
Thanks!
I'm looking for 24 Golf R in Blue 6MT. Please show me the dealers that have under MSRP because I can't even find msrp and I only want blue with stick
There was one local to me but looks like they are back to mark ups over MSRP
Regarding the brake squeal: Assuming that the Golf R uses high performance pads, which have a harder compound. In that case, it's normal for them to squeak/squeal a bit. I had a Hyundai Kona N which was much worse than my new Mk8, but the noise tended to dissipate over time. IIRC, the Kona's manual actually stated that brake squeal was normal, and not a fault.
Thank you!
I heard you have to unlock it to open the door from the inside. you can't open the door without unlocking the door from the inside
Not sure on that
