Glad you were able to get yours for MSRP! I don't understand why anyone would roast you on your deal first off because it's your money, but secondly I think you got a pretty decent deal TBH.

Great for you all the best😊 After owning 7 golf's 4 GTI AUTOBAHN 3 regular Golf's, I was planning on buying an R last year, but with all these games, these dealerships were playing I gave up completely and went to BMW .For the money They want for an R is not even worth it !

I think you got a great deal. I was looking for one of these since the 2023 MY. The best I could find was 5-10k over. Can't beat this for a great all arounder. I do the same thing with financing. It works for me as well. And like you said, we get write off. Its a difference when you operate as we do as a business. Great video!

Very nice. While I'm really happy with my Mazda3Turbo Hatch as my daily, a Golf R might have been a contender if I wanted to spend that much (about $10k more than I paid for mine), and if I could even find one at MSRP. Congrats again on the new ride; looking forward to seeing more videos on it.

@@Gonin60 In my case, not being available in manual is a moot point since my wife wanted the ability to drive it if need be, and she doesn't drive manual. If it was just me, I might very well have passed on it due to the lack of a manual. Luckily, all my fun cars will still be manual so I'll have those to get my fix!

@@Gonin60 if money was less of an object I would much prefer this over a VB. Looks, function, and that rec limiter noise is incredible.

Markups in the midwest are 7k with additional 3k in dealer addons in at least 4 locations around me. 57-59k for these and people are paying it. They werent like that for a bit but the GR Corolla had limited production and had high markups then it was like dominos. FOMO hit people hard so as your Type Rs and Type S came along - poeple couldnt get them and kept going to the next best thing and the markups followed it seemed. Its basically looking like normal peoples only option is the WRX and after I had an absolutely horrid experience with a VA its not tempting to me atm.

@@Gonin60 Just checked stock for those around me - everybody shows MSRP as "Please call" so markups still in play for the midwest.

I gave up trying to buy a 2024 Golf R since all dealers in my area are adding between $5-8K "market adjustments." MSRP for a new R is about $47K, so you could end up spending $52-55K, assuming you act quickly enough or are willing to place a deposit on a vehicle not yet delivered. I stumbled on a dealership nearly 400 miles away that had a 2024 R 6-spd in lapis blue (my desired color). We discussed price, trade-in (on a 2022 Golf GTI 6spd), etc. via text and FaceTime. I paid $49.5K (less the trade-in), so a much smaller "market adjustment." It was very much worth the long drive. What is a "good deal"? A good deal is how badly you want a car and how much you are willing to pay for it. It differs from person to person and on each person's financial situation. There are lots of fine cars on the market that are more easily available, but I was happy to get the car that pleases me on so many levels.

hi I just got a lease offer for a 2024 Golf R dsg. 0 down payment, 12k per year, monthly payments of $858 for 39 months, $880 for 36 months, do you think this price is reasonable?

I haven’t leased a lot of cars. That seems high to me but I’m not an expert on leases. I borrowed 53k on a 7 year at 7.24 and I pay around $820 a month.
