Personally, I'm glad they kept it NA. With just about everything moving towards turbocharging these days, it's nice that some manufacturers still offer naturally aspirated cars these days, especially sports cars which (for me anyway) are all about the feel. Driving a naturally aspirated car is a totally different feeling than driving a turbo charged one, and one that I actually prefer, personally.

The real answer is! The is based on the idea of the AE86. which is a slow car! I want the BRZ to be even lighter and slower :P

This is correct. It's a revival of the AE86 which was never fast and especially not a drag car. The fact that this is still a debate speaks to the lack of perspective in the car community.

Because the supra exists. That's why. If the 86 had a turbo it would cannibalize 2.0t supra sales.

i have 230hp stock in my baja turbo and it feels quick, cant imagine how fun a gr86 would be. people that complain about the gr86's hp most likely never take corners properly.

Can u tell why u remove this thing on filter? Its better to have this off? Thanks!

That said, with the meh performance of the b58 and weight difference it would probably step on the supra's toes too much

Yeah the Supras toes is a good perspective for sure!

It’s why I sold mine. Don’t get me wrong it’s a fun peppy car but when you’re getting gapped by a fucking golf and base 3 series that shit hits the soul lol. I have a feeling they will put the gr Corolla engine in it.

I think it's your ego that's the problem, not the car. It's a 2.4 naturally aspirated 4 cylinder for god sake, and you're comparing it with turbocharged 4 and 6 cylinder cars. Losing too any turbocharged cars in a 4 cylinder n/a is nothing to get upset about unless you get gap by a n/a 4 like Honda then that's different lol. If speed is all that matters to you, you might as well just get a Tesla.

I've been driving mine for 2 months, and even during break-in while staying under 4k I don't feel like it's underpowered for daily driving. Plenty of evidence online of these cars overtaking V8 Mustangs and Camaros on the tracks with driver skill. This car handles incredibly well (especially with better tires, some camber bolts, and front brake pads). Folks who love the quarter mile need not apply, lol.

Why not put a centrifugal super charger like a vortech or pro charger similar to a turbo but belt driven and it could be easily done without too much engineering changes better pistons and crank better valve springs and you can have it at the top easily accessible for maintenance truth is cost and they don't wanna do it because they know people are idiots and will buy it anyway sad really seen as there are no Silvias anymore only Nissan z models which are still quite expensive
