Gotta say. It's a bit nit picky but I have a bit of chagrin with the take of "DC is dark, gritty, and profound whereas Marvel is light, silly, and schlocky." Usually from individuals who only really consume super hero stories through film, and television shows. I don't mean to sound presumptuous, as I don't know if you've read any of either comics publishers work; but in practice that usually isn't the case. Quite the opposite actually with DC being far more bright, hopeful, and optimistic. With DC's heroes being positioned as merciful icons of virtue who rarely do wrong, or make mistakes. With their stories having hard moral messages. Whereas Marvel's works have always explored more dark, grounded, and "realistic" themes I.e. Spider-Man's villains almost always being powerful crime bosses, CEO's. politicians, etc. Captain America constantly rebelling against the America he lives in to fight for the America he believes in, or poignantly Mutant Discrimination. I have love a lot of both of The Big Two's stories, and characters. The current Superman media we've been getting is top notch, and Jonathan Hickman's 'Ultimate Comics' are stellar, and moving. That is to say, I think both publishers, their writers, editors, and artists make both silly schlock, and inspiring art. And that's totally vallid.

After hearing about what a bad movie this I was I came to realize something about it I don’t think I really like the plot of this movie. The main/only thing I really like about it is the fact it’s about animal characters which I am biased towards, and I’m pretty sure that’s the main reason it did so well Plot-wise… not really a lot of praise can be given, I’m sure

YES, IN ADDITION, I WANT TO SEE A SUPERVILLAIN IN THIS FRANCHISE WHO HAS POWERS, THERE IS SO MUCH POTENTIAL THERE!!! Especially since they would have needed to hide their abilities long before the Superheros had to go into hiding. You could easily have a villain develop from jealousy that the heros don't have to hide their abilities to anger that they're never able to express their abilities; I could have seen Dash going that direction if he never found a good outlet, for instance, and it's foreshadowed by him using his powers to prank his teacher with thumb tacks on his chair. Heroes without the outlet to use their abilities for good or who aren't taught to use them responsibly to help others will use them in other ways for their own self interests. Other franchises have explored this ofc, but the Incredibles has somehow avoided it so far, and if they can get the character focus back they had in the first one it could be really good.

Problem; without active ill intent, Auto by definition CANNOT be a villain. He's an antagonist, his intentions just so happen to be at odds with others-- the very others who first gave it those intentions in fact, change simply wasn't accounted for, and thus he does not consider it.

My favorite childhood movie was atlantis. However I think rourke was very obvious at being the villain. Only time he wasn't would dead in the beginning when he was in charge of there mission. But there were lots of hints during whole film of him becoming future problem. His temper was big giveaway. Still love the movie tho 1000%

You clearly only heard what’s said about Fred Calvert from garret the rat. Fred was not in the wrong. The musical numbers, tacks voice, and the cut scenes were all things the studio told him to do. He is quoted saying he hated seeing the beautiful animation fall to the floor as he was cutting it and he even called Richard Williams “an incredible animator.” The film is not his fault, but the studios. And don’t trust Garret Gilchrist in any way. He’s an asshole.

I still cannot believe that Disney's higher ups okay'd a song that is explicitly about rape. About rape, a one person's internal struggle about whether or not he should rape. I don't remember watching this movie as a child, but when I watched it as an adult this song floored me. I was almost in shock. Even in musicals aimed at adults songs like this just don't exist.

I really agree with this a LOT, this is also why I'm not at all interested in multiverse stories but I think the spider-verse movies are one of the few exceptions because it was mostly done well, when into the spider-verse first released I was kinda confused and uninterested by the multiverse thing and why there are many spider people (*at the time I didn't know about the comics or other spider people)

Auto was wrong. It was only “motivated” because the BnL leader at the time of leaving earth recorded a message ordering not to return to earth. Auto didn’t think for itself. It couldn’t have. Because the whole point of that scene was that the plant was proof that earth was indeed inhabitable. But auto refused to acknowledge that due to the original order. Plus watch the credits lol. Also, I believe auto works as an emotionless villain not because it makes sense (cause it doesn’t) but more on a narrative level since walle is a love story about robots after all.

1:57-2:14 but thats the thing in description it sounds soo much different without context, without the mentioning who Hal still was before he got the powers, why Megamind did all of it, Metro man's corpse being a little too solid compared to everything else he faced, these subtle details create the twist. I'd say he's not the best one but he's an intersting one, since being better shown how his qualities always made him and many like him a villian just one who couldn't act upon their flawed ideals. That hard fact is what the twist expresses and makes the Movie even better for it knowning this, seeing details like Hal living in an aparment so he was even capable of buying a bouncy house showing his decietfulness, how much he forces his own beliefs and wants on his crush shown after her and Netromind(the deguised Megamind) both leave the lair. all of that showed the point which adds to the twist.

I was questioning the title until I realised, twist isn't just the badly executed ones like dysney where it's "good guy turns obviously bad with no addition added after" it can also be a character that was flawed but was never expected to be serious. Hal is a twist in him being the main villian because of how patethic he was, But just like in the amazing video by Radchad on Joke characters, the unexpected monster from the butt of the joke is Hal he begins as intersting commentary of nice guys developing further into what makes a person good, it isn't just their power but also what they do with it. Hal was bad not because he got powers but because of who he was. Silly Characters who are NO JOKE: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gpyBlMN_ornWqco.htmlsi=V6mvrODjZikFtGta

Despite what terrible things Charles did, you can’t help but feel sorry for him. He was done dirty, his greatest achievement was dismissed and he lost everything. You can see why he went insane. He was furious. He deserved to be revered but he lost it all due to no fault of his own. Charles should have been a hero, but due to unfortunate circumstances, he became a villain
