  High or low larynx position is not a bad thing when not straining ofc, but some singers place it high and add a touch of nasality as a stylistic choice

  Damn... I forgot how bad Fergie sounded... thank you for pointing out poor technique. I just started singing and I sound like a dying cat too. I can't unhear the the tightness and cringe in their voices. I have been doing pitch training too and my ears are bleeding now. I use a vocal tuner and it tells me if I am I am sharp or flat. I tried singing some belty songs (celine and Whitney 😂😂😂) and I can hit the high notes in my head voice pretty easily (I can't even believe I just typed that but after 2 weeks of exercises and I've added 2 octaves). That being said, when I try to belt, EVERYTHING falls apart. I go back to dying cat! Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I am about to do my thyroarytenoid exercises to bulk up my chest voice. I was getting carried away trying to increase my range, but I need to focus on support too.

  I feel like we have higher standards for musicians nowadays. They aren’t fighting the cookie cutter sex selling machine. For example, Lewis Capidili, Sam Smith, Adele, Billie Eilish, and Ed Sheeran. Not saying good looking people can’t be great at songwriting and singing at the same time. It just seems the music industry is more accepting. There’s enough room at the table for all sorts of talent.

  Must be based on mostly North American singers. Nice that you took the time to assemble this video and must have spent a lot of time on it. I thank you for that but you left out a few notables that are not American, that being Soyung, Regine, Katrina and of course probably today's greatest singer, Morissette.

  Madonna has a GREAT voice for a pop singer. The best voices still around are Celine and Demi Lovato Poor Celine - shes the nicest person (wish her well), NEVER badmouthed anyone, so for that CUNTY hasbeen Mariah to come for her out of spite and jealousy for that GREAT live moment which Aretha clearly enjoyed...
