I think if the victims weren't mainly old prostitutes, they would have kept the case going. But back then respectable women ie. Rich women were second class citizens. Working class women were third class actresses, old ladies and prostitutes were fourth class citizens. This attitude is reimerging in the US right now unfortunately pushed by supposed Christian people. Down with misogyny and elder hate.

American and german propaganda. Germany NEVER occupied Britain and even though it occupied this land it was soon took back. The germans in the comments who are still salty because britain crushed them that are claiming to of "destroyed the british empire" never did so stop the lies. BRITAIN ITSELF disbanded its empire last colony ended in 1997 so cry cry nazis

How mean and ill is to propagate a lie against recorded history of how enigma was cracked by Poles in 1932 and all documents were past to British in August of 1939 . Marian Rejewski with Jerzy Rozycki and Henryk Zygalski were precursors of what served as fundaments to continue work by British with Polish team pushed aside . Worth noting that M , Rajewski when enigma was broken by him - he was 27 years old at the time ……

Turing and his teams stood on the shoulders of Rejewski and his colleagues who cracked Enigma and built a replica by the early 30s. Could the British have cracked Enigma independently? Probably, but it would have taken longer at the very least. Could the Poles have continued to adapt to continuously added complexity and process improvements, especially after 1939? Probably, but they didn't have the same resources or manpower, and Poland was overrun by fascists. The final outcome, which allowed the Allies to read most encrypted traffic from all three arms of the Werhmacht by 1942, saved countless lives and couldn't have happened without both parties, so they should be honoured equally. Seeing how the British honoured Turing though, perhaps Rejewski and co. would prefer to remain anonymous...
