    Here in Brazil we call the insect "fly", "mosca", from the latin word "musca". And the praying mantis we call it "louva deus", god worshiper.

    Here in Greece the praying mantis is called "αλογάκι της Παναγίας" which translates to Saint Mary's Steed really cool name

    @@raintree3383 Hornets tend to be large, strong, have stingers, and can also chew through an insect's armor. Check out videos where large mantises try to go against Asian giant hornets.
