  Always 4. Take both your pointer fingers and stick them into each end as close to the center as you possibly can. Swirl your fingers in the opposite directions and you will eventually feel one strand tighten on your fingers. Shove your thumb in the side with the tight strand then pinch and pull it out. Using this method, i rarely get huge yarn barf and almost always get the end of the center each time. If i had tiktok, I'd share this method because i know it would go viral but alas, i hate tiktok so 💀
