    I always say that I am allergic to clutter, so I don't have any. When I go to my in-laws' place or my parents' place, I FEEL that anxiety and it makes me understand why they all have stress and anxiety. I agree completely with all you have stated here!!

    Hey! I love this video. I noticed that you talked about how this journey created a snowball effect for you. You started out with the physical decluttering and moved on to taking care of "decluttering the closets of your mind." I don't often hear minimalist talk about mental and emotional clutter. Would you be able to talk about it soon? I have been physically decluttering for a while and making good changes to my life, but I still feel bogged down in my mind and with controlling my own emotions. Thank you so much for your time, and I hope you have a lovely day.

    I agree with a lot of the comments! Would love to see a grocery haul with a meal plan video and how much you spend in a week for your family. We’re not vegan, but definitely include a whole lot of vegetarian/meatless meals into our meals due to inflation. Decluttering has brought me and my family so much peace. I’m home 24/7 with my 4 kids while my husband works night shift, so having my home clutter free and relaxing as possible is huge on my mental health and makes me a happier mama. 💕 Also isn’t it crazy how many activities little kids are into these days? They’re so over stimulated it’s sad, and then the parents get stressed out because they’re always go-go-go. I wish we lived in a society that prioritized the slow down. My kids are 6, 4, 2, and 8 months and we homeschool. But we don’t do any kind of sports and probably wouldn’t unless one of them expressed interest! We’re just content with our nature walks, lake days, swimming, and gardening chores. :)

    I am adding that type of video to my list ;) We are the exact same way with activities. Not many people understand the reasoning behind doing less stuff. It is so nice to hear other mamas are the same way with their kiddos. 🤍 I think it is beautiful to teach them beauty in just the simple things. Good job, mama! 🙏🤍

    I just wanted to say that I enjoyed this video and watching your channel each week. Even though I am single with no kids, I love taking care of my home for my mental health. While not everything applies to me, I found that some of the tips were easily applied to anyone's life. Simplifying activities is very important. While I love structure (Dealing with OCD tendencies) and completing everything, I have gotten at the point where I am okay if I cannot complete everything I wanted in that one day. I hope to continue growing in my simple living journey so I can have that organic fun that you spoke about in the video.

    I’d be interested in seeing how you do your grocery shopping/plan your meals. I definitely feel overwhelmed when it comes to making three meals a day for my three kids, who are homeschooled so we’re all here everyday, alllll day 😂 so I end up buying a lot of microwave meals that are not the healthiest, but sometimes it’s all I can do on those super overwhelming days. Would you consider making a deeper video sharing your ideas for some simpler meals?

    I've simplified so much and I also try to find easier ways to do what I need to do if something's stressing me out during my day. But what I find is that now that it' s simplified (and I wouldn't want it any other way) I am bored so much. Does everyone as a stay at home mom feel bored? I think it's a big problem that we're so used to the constant dopamine that comes from buying, using our phones, etc. that we can't bear being bored anymore. I just don't know how to fix that. Do you have any tips or insight? 🥰

  • @user-xm4vn1gk6t

    interesting observation...we have to learn to relax and rest again

  • @lightandmind77
    @lightandmind7712 күн бұрын

    Absolutely. I have heard this and I believe it is pretty much a whole rewiring of our brains. Maybe bored is not a bad thing. I don't think we were created to have all the dopamine hits and the constant stimulation around us all the the time, so when we remove it, it can be uncomfortable for a bit.....until you start to see how much more alive you feel. In my experience I have just had to relearn that being bored and just doing ordinary life is beautiful. It is so interesting to me. When I look back in history and how people used to live, they didn't have what we have today and they found beauty in just simple things that now so many of us have been told is boring. But it didn't use to be that way. Walking outside, just sitting in the living room by the fire, reading a book, grocery shopping, etc was joyful and was a beautiful part of life. 🤍🤍

    Over the years I've developed different routines for each day of the week. For example I have a laundry routine Monday through Friday Monday I wash bed sheets / comforters and Tuesday wash towels/rags Wednesday I wash my clothes Thursday I wash my husband's clothes and Fridays I wash the kids clothes. Also the same for my meal planning Mondays I make sweet potatoes steaks and pinto beans. Tuesdays I make tacos with refried beans from leftover beans from Monday. Wednesday I cook Italian sausage with marinara sauce and make pasta and a salad. Thursdays is rice black beans and chicken with fresh tomatoes and vegetables on top. Fridays are leftovers I'll make fried rice or clean out the fridge. Saturdays are burgers hot dogs baked beans a salad and Sunday I throw a whole chicken in my crock pot with whatever veggies that I have. Also I follow daily focuses that the fly lady has so Thursdays are for errands Fridays are for cleaning out cars and purse etc I also have a cleaning routine Monday through Friday Monday I clean the main floors Tuesdays are for the bathrooms Wednesdays are for the master bedroom etc there by minimizing the work that I have to do on the weekends. I consistently stick to the laundry and meal planning and daily focus tasks but the daily cleaning for the different areas of my house is something that I'm still trying to be consistent at but a little bit each day really helps me so I'm not feeling overwhelmed with mountains of laundry and cleaning and organizing to do on Saturdays

    I have never heard of spartanism. That is so interesting. I have never counted anything other than just knowing I had one pair of jeans or something like that, because it was just all I needed. Definitely putting things down to what people command you have and telling you what you have to have in order to be a minimalist is so wrong. As a minimalist of nearly 18 years, owning different things at different times because hobbies and interests change too, it is wrong to think of not having the things I use and need. . and making it like, "Well, I have three pieces of materials to make my quilts more than I will use for this project, so I guess I'll get rid of it." compared to how I use scraps for projects over the course of five years without me spending money on materials for new projects. . .etc. I hope that makes sense. I think people need to just understand what they like and not try to look in a certain way to conform to that way. For instance, I am a Mennonite but I wear pants and no head covering while most Mennonites wear just dresses or skirts and head coverings. . .it is all because I decided to figure out what is right for me. Loved your video and it made me think a lot about things. Thank you.

    My parents just did this. They moved to another country and left so much behind. Right now they are living in a rental in the old country finalizing logistical things but oh man they seem so much happier because the new house in the new country is so empty... part of it is just letting go of all that shit they didn't want anymore, but also the new house is so empty and promising. My dad said he can't wait to "furnish the new house as slowly as possible" and he keeps joking around calling the new property "the monastery"
