Shopping will never fulfill us and here's why | minimalism

We tend to run to this very “normal habit” as an escape, a distraction, or even just for fun. But, is it really fulfilling us? Or is leaving us wanting and craving MORE? Is it actually draining us? Leave your thoughts in the comments below. I love to hear them.
I have found so much freedom by becoming more self aware with my purchasing and being mindful of the WHY behind my shopping. Am I shopping or buying this for the right or wrong reason? That is a question I find great value in.
Thank you for all your continued support. Sending all my love and light as always🤍

I was close to being poor when I was young and always felt bad that I couldn't afford things except the bare minimum. Now, I realize it was a blessing and I was able to stay home with my kids until they went to school.

I love how you used the analogy of the toilet paper roll because it was crystal clear by example. I sold a lot of items, and my life is in the 10 x 15 storage unit. That's all I have. The less stress, the better. I'm building a 900 square feet house, and that's all I need in life. I'm a big fan of your channel.

@LightandMind77 I only have 7 pieces of furniture that are essential for daily living to be comfortable. My next step is to get rid of kitchen stuff that I hardly use. The less on the countertop, the better. It makes the room larger.

I resonate so much with this. I was a shopaholic, and still can fall into the trap if I am not careful.

I’ve been trying to figure out if I have an unhealthy relationship towards shopping, because I seem to spend a lot of time thinking about purchasing decisions. I think I can often desire a new picture book or jigsaw because I’m imagining feeling peaceful and present as I enjoy whatever it is with my children, and really what I’m really wanting is the peace and presence (doesn’t come guaranteed, however beautuful the new book). But really I don’t think I find shopping enjoyable because trying to make good decisions is so very draining! Do I really really really need this? Is this the most ethical version/place to buy it from? Overthinking everything, major indecision. I don’t buy much but what I do buy takes an inordinate amount of time! Probably not very relatable 😅 thank you for your videos 💛

I totally know what you are talking about and can relate to the overthinking about decisions. It is draining...what I have found is that when I overthink a purchase, it is sometimes because I don't really need the item in the first place. This isn't always the case, but something I have noticed. Thank you for being here. 🤍

Social media is definitely making me shop more 😄 it’s the trends, the skin care trend, must haves from amazon, “I bought this and it changed my life” 😁 I forget what’s the need and what’s the trend. Thanks for the tips

I am a stay at home mom and find myself wanting to buy some new activities or toys because I am bored in my day to day life. I know we won't play nicer things with new toys, but I can't get rid of that thought and I fall in the trap of picking up free or cheap second hand toys multiple times a month.

Love your thoughts about life, family and minimalism. So i never miss a video . Please can you make a video about slow living with Kids? How to live intentional together in a family? Which decisions over the last years have you done? Which transformation do you explore? Have you give up something personal?
