Would it be possible to put the woven drag from the stradic fm in this reel?
i took the bail out to clean the inside because sand got inside and when I took it apart there is a spring on the side without the line roller pop out where does it go? been looking for a video that shows how to fix or replace the bail for the ultegra but couldnt find any help!!!
Fantastic tutorial mate. Am i right in saying that the bushes with o-rings as originally fitted provide a measure of protection against salt water ingress that the bearings do not provide? Cheers
I’m sold. I was going to buy my daughter and her husband spinning reels and decent titanium guides rods for specs, reds, flounder run in the fall. My stinking X of 7 months stole all my curados, Calcutta and chronarch plus more hundreds $ in my huge tackle collection. Just need to start over everything again. Oh I’m fishing inshore around Galveston TX just off Gulf of Mexico. Thank you very much for the videos.

I take my reel off my rods then take the spool off the reel wash only the spool under water then wipe down the rest of the reel with a damp rag , then i hose the rod off on its own when that is done I use my air compressor gun to dry off the rod guides and the spool then re assemble the spool back onto the reel . 😉👍

Great and really informative video, enjoyed every minute of it! Btw, on the sound comparison I noticed the upgraded reel has a clicking sound when spool goes up, do you know what's causing it? I have the same clicking sound on mine new out of box, I've read somewhere it could be related to oscilating pawl.
How do I figure out how to choose the correct bearing size for a 4000 or 5000 reel?
Are the upgrades pretty much the same for a 23 stradic?

This is not the correct way - metal plate immediatly after ball bearing (18:12). There must be a shim. And there is too much grease, man!
Hi, good informative video. But I think it useless to change bearing if they are working as intended.

Im having a horrible time with this nasci and the miravel both wind knot problems and the nasci keeps dropping loops of braid down the spool. I close the bail manually both on gloomis rods not sure whats going on

Allright one question bro, why didn't you oil the new bearings? They came already oiled, or just 'dry' the grease i've seen, but not oiling the bearings? Greets

those parts will work for ulgerta 3000?
In the description you listed Non-Handle Side Bearing (RD13274 or 7x11x3). In the video you talked about two worm bearings and two handel bearing. There is no mention of RD13274?
Just buy a better reel is much easier .
Yeah yeah, what reel do you have, one from ali x pr3ss? 😂 why bother buying a more expensive reel right? If you can upgrade your reels like this dude, there is no point in buying a 'better reel' because it ain't gonna be 'better' than this.
Haha that’s subjective but yes you can purchase a more expensive reel and spend more money. 😊

Got a new Stradic FM C2000SHG that clicks under low speed, initial retrieve. I just got it, but would like to try and solve issue myself. The reel feels very smooth, but a faint yet persistent tick is there. Any tips? I have a video with it on there: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fY53u9iTmdSzZdI.html
Hi, I’m upgrading a 5000XGL. Do you know what is the right ball bearing replacement for the part RD20272 (Main Shaft Collar)? The RD14396 you used in this video is a 4x8x3. For the 5000 the main shaft is a 4.5 so in theory I need a 4.5x10x3 but it doesn’t exist. Thanks
Are these original parts or similar to Stella quality parts from other producers or?…
These bearings are straight from Shimano and were Stella bearings off the schematic!

do u have a video on how to clean these bearings in case of prolonged dipping (5 sec or longer) in saltwater? aka i hope i dont have to bust it open fully just to clean and prevent.... can i 'clean' these bearings by simply taking off the arm ?

Hey bud, I noticed on one of your other upgrade videos on the stradic fl 3000 that there was a shim or washer beside the bushing on the handle knob when you removed it. You made sure you put it back on then the bearing beside it. On this video the shim or washer wasn’t there. Did Shimano forget to put it on from manufacture you think? Even when I upgraded mine there was no shim which left me scratching my head as to why!
It is very possible that they missed it but since this is a smaller-sized reel, it could also be intentional... Hard to say! Either way, it will likely not make a difference. Thanks for the comment and question! Might have some new content coming out soon as well! - Isaac

What’s the part number for that bearing behind the pinion gear?
In the description you have RD11018 for the worm gear bearing but use RD11578 in the video. Which should it be?
Can you say why the Shimano Stradic 1000 is the same size as the Ultegra 2500 and 3000, the Shimano sizing is madness.
