  Looks like my daily driver, I remember looking at this truck in the 1980s-early 90s Tamiya Catalog, and working on my frog with the Trinity Drag motor, now i pretty much banned myself from hobby stores 😅 and there's one across the street! But really cool to see Tamiya re-releasing the old 4 wheel memories, really cool, I've got a crappie traxxas slash thats to fast to enjoy 😅 and that's as far as this 49 year olds hobby addiction is going! My 2003 Toyota Tacoma Solid Axle Swap is where my money goes and my 2003 Harley Davidson FXDP ! But anyhow, great video, ill check out some more, thanks brother

  I've only driven once or twice but I didn't have any issues. Keep in mind it's not set up for rock crawling so and the suspension is set tight so there is a lot of flex which could result in rubbing.

  Great lookin truck I would leave it on the shelf as well!.. The chrome chassis and wheels let alone the custom paint are a notch above the rest.

  It’s a vintage Blackfoot with a chrome chassis, Trinity shocks, sees wheels, with an ultrahive painted body. I’ll have a video on it eventually

  I have a Tamiya Toyota Hilux High Lift. I would love to upgrade to a brushless system but I'm worried about breaking the gears in the transmission. Do you have any suggestions? Have you ever seen a metal or brass/bronze gear upgrade for the transmission or is there a brushless motor that I can run safely?

  I personally like the spektrum 2in1 combos. I’m sure 1400kv system will work fine for that. There was someone at one point that made gears for those but it’s been a long long time since I’ve messed with the high lift based truck. I’m also not a big multi speed fan and tend to ditch those types of trans in favor or a scale driveline from GCM, RC4WD, or SSD.

  I have a vintage Clod but its got the grille with no logo at all.. its the same but without the bowtie.. Also have a "newer" one with the big stupid 4x4x4 on it.... what were they thinking 😂

  Tamiya lost the licensing to use the Chevrolet “bow tie” and if I had to guess was further forced to change the grill even more to the 4x4x4 one

  @@Oliver-lg5hw it has after market shocks and a 4 link kit so it sits taller then stock. The body is a stock but very modified clodbuster body

  What's up...I just bought it and I love it but the suspension is too hard. RC4WD is aware of this problem in their chassis but has not corrected it and the solution they sell is too expensive. RC4WD Teraflex Revolver Shackle Your Price: $35.99 per set and 4 sets are needed. to Optimize the suspension. Excellent video.! Beautiful cars!

  The the suspension out of the box is stiff, however it is not a design flaw. Leaf sprung suspension needs to be broken in and the best way to do that is to drive and use the truck. A long with that are a few other steps that cost nothing to do other than your time. For starters, remove the internal springs from the shocks in all 4. Next, you can remove one of the leafs from the leaf packs this will help aid in breaking them in, you may need to put it back in after they settle and break in. Under no circumstances would I recommend revolvers or those Z box things… that’s all junk IMO. If you want a leaf suspension set up that’s going to really really flex and work well you want a twisted fab leaf kit, front and rear with the buggy leaf, with pricey custom shocks and towers.   My first hobby grade RC was a qd midnight pumpkin. Shortly after I got that my cousin gave me his Blackfoot. I absolutely love the Blackfoot. My original is long gone but I restored a vintage Blackfoot last year. I painted the body black with gold flake and 2k automotive clear. I also found an old parma lexan Blackfoot body I did up as awesome kong 2 my favorite 80’s ford monster truck.
