Man that is a sweet truck! Shoot, I remember when the Custom Chrome Parts stuff was commonly available and I did not buy any of it. Drat...I missed out on cashing in 30 - 40 years later! The clear case servos that you mentioned at 2:23 were made by Cirrus. There were two versions, the CS-80 and the CS-60. The CS-80, which is what I have in a few of my trucks, has more torque but it is very slow. The CS-60 was much faster but it had less torque. They both had the cool looking clear plastic case though. There is a CS-80 up for sale on that famous online auction site right now. It is not cheap though. I remember buying my CS-80s at the local hobby shop back in the day and I did not pay more than $30 for them. I have seen several CS-80s up for sale over the last year and they all went for around $100 each. They look really cool (always have) but they are not worth quite that much in my opinion. I really wanted one for my Bull Head project that I am working on right now but I passed due to the price and I bought a Hitec HS-645MG instead to save some cash.
Wow you got clods setting everywhere. I love these vintage builds reminds me of my early days in the hobby.

That’s kinda the idea, growing up I drooled over these types of builds so it’s nice to be able to replicate them some.
Your "simple" build is still a baller, definitely a sick build

Thanks ! The Blackfoot bodies do look pretty rad on a Clod.
Whoa. Amazing custom piece. I do think if it had a little more purple in the chassis or wheels somewhere, it would make that amazing paint job pop even more. But thats only my opinion of coarse.

I concur, I did try to add some purple hardware into the mix. I’m almost thinking some purple battery doors might be cool and help with that.
Awesome!!

Beautiful trucks as always. Are the aluminum ladder arms still being made? I know that JPS doesn’t make them anymore…. I still have some brand new JPS wheels

@@MikesRCWorld ok thank you. Question ? How does the aluminum ladder bars to aluminum axles work with the friction. Do you just add some grease?
@MikesRCWorld
Жыл бұрын
@@brianwood9849 correct, if you’re running the Chatham ones you’ll throw a little bit of grease around the ball to keep them moving. I like to use Park bike grease.
Beautiful trucks. Is that a rc10t hanging?

It certainly is ! Ultrahive built and painted. Gotta finish polishing out the sees wheels and bolt the trans into it then I can cover that truck on the channel.
🤤
A question. I have a set of the spike tires reala similar to that but the vees are staggered. Any idea what they are? They are near mint and arent hardened or weather checked at all
@MikesRCWorld
Жыл бұрын
They made them both ways, staggered V and regular V pattern. They were made by duratrax

@@MikesRCWorld they came on my fully chromed sassy chassis clodbuster, some of the chrome parts like the axle tubes broke and got replaced by aluminum. I made sure to retain stock style chrome ladder bars and such to keep it period. It's capable of running, but I run it gently in the grass, don't want to scratch anything

@@assymcgee2835 sounds like my kinda clod ! Hard to beat a sassy chassis and some CCP chrome parts.
What brand of tires are they

@@MikesRCWorld only aftermarket parts are the trinity 1987 world championship motors. It's in grate shape for the age. I have 2 bodies one red and one white I think the white one has the leds still. Not sure I would have to look. I had it running years ago then it just sits in a box.
Prefer it with blackfoot body ......clod always looks too square to me ........ nice job !
