Clipping has nothing to do with the speaker. It has everything to do with pushing the signal from the receiver in comparison to its distortion level. Ei. If your receiver says 140w per channel, but it reaches that 140w at volume 27 out of 40 before distortion at a said ohm load. Then it'll distort no matter what speaker is connected at said volume. The only way to know where this level is - is with a oscilloscope or a tweeter with a capacitor hooked up to a tweeter (iykyk). Just to clear this up for those who are confused.

ARC and eARC are an absolute pain in the ass. As much as I love the lossless audio and pristine video quality, the inconsistent handshaking or in many cases lack of handshaking between components is extremely annoying. Not to mention graphical glitches and loud scary audio pops when HDMI sources are switched. I miss the days when audio was on one cable and video was carried independently on another.

Everyone keeps saying "it's too much work. I would rather get the Govee or Hue instead." Sadly, they only go up to 75" or 85" (100" is the highest I've seen). Most projector screens start around 100". So if you are doing 150" screen, there aren't many alternative options. Great stuff @Chris. I plan on attempting this in the very near future!

Can you clarify when you did your speed tests if they were done with the distance and only 1 note, or did you have multiple nodes setup for your testing speed. I'm not sure if the twas clarified for your testing scenarios and would be useful to note for my plans on possibly updating to this system.

I think a lot of people underestimate how different projections are. With a TV you are literally having an intense light beamed into your eye. A projecter simply bounces the light off a screen or wall, making it far less stressful on the eyes to view.

@jaychanne|8558 • 0s ago Chris Did you know that Ratingscom rated the Formovie a 7.1 out of ten, rated 1800 Lumens when they advertise 2800. They came in 9th out of 9 projectors by the Hook Up and Formovie is being sued by Epson for fraud and misleading Advertising claiming 2800 Lumens when everyone else can't get to 1800. I know he pays you for sponsorships but really, all these complaints about Formovie having dim HDR and DV, and the picture with the lights on get washed out? Have you ever asked him why he did the first shoot out with the lights off and didn't include brightness. The second shoot out he put dim lights BEHIND the screens and didn't include HDR. Also can you elaborate what you meant when you said in this video that your not sure what they did with the Formovie, maybe different hardware, but your Formovie doesn't look like the one in the competition.

Thanks for sharing. My Fireplace-TV includes: Roku Ultra Streaming Stick and Remote Model#?, Samsung HDTV Model# UN55C7000WFXZA, Sony Speaker Bar SA-CT800 and Sony Woofer SA-WCT800 My Connection Setup Attempts: Connection Setup Attempt I The Sony Speaker Bar SA-CT800 and Sony Woofer SA-WCT800 pair automatically via their own internal signal. The Roku Ultra is a 3-3/4 inches long and the Samsung TV's recessed area of the bank of HDMI ports is 3-1/2 inches wide; consequently, I cannot direct connect the Roku into the HDMI-2 (ARC): I insert the Roku Ultra into the short HDMI extension cable and insert them into HDMI-2 (ARC) located on the back of the Samsung TV. I connect a HDMI cable from the Sony speaker-bar's HDMI OUT (TV ARC) to the Samsung's HDMI-3. The Roku sends the signal to the TV, but I get no sound: I thought the HDMI cable might be bad [I tried another HDMI cable and no sound]. Connection Setup Attempt II The Sony Sound-bar's recessed area of the bank of HDMI ports is also 3-1/2 inches wide; consequently, I cannot direct connect the Roku into the Sony speaker bar's HDMI OUT (TV ARC) I insert the Roku Ultra into the short HDMI extension cable and insert them into cable to the Samsung HDMI-3, but could not get sound. Connection Setup Attempt III The Roku Ultra is a 3-3/4 inches long and the Samsung TV's recessed area of the bank of HDMI ports is 3-1/2 inches wide; consequently, I cannot direct connect the Roku into the HDMI-2 (ARC): I insert the Roku Ultra into the short HDMI extension cable and insert them into HDMI-2 (ARC) located on the back of the Samsung TV. I remembered I have a couple of TOS Link cables (fiber optic), but the Samsung optic port is cylindrical: then I remembered I have a old Panasonic Fiber Optic adapter: I remove the HDMI cable from the Sony Speaker-bar and connected the TOS Link cable (fiber optic) from the Samsung TV Digital Audio Out (Optical) to the Speaker Bar TV IN Optical and could not get any audio to the speaker bar - no light. Connection Setup Attempt IV I unplug everything including the TV let sit for 30-min to 60-min I only plug the Samsung TV into the power strip and try to reset to factory settings, I attempt to follow the instruction on the following website www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00077524/ Open Settings, and then select General. Select Reset, enter your PIN (0000 is the default), and then select Reset. To complete the reset, select OK. Your TV will restart automatically. I find the general settings, but cannot find a reset to factory requiring a PIN If these steps don't match your TV, navigate to Settings, select Support, and then select Self Diagnosis. Reset will be located in that menu. I cannot conduct the self-diagnosis because I am not connected to a network [I might connect Ethernet cable and try again later] You can also check the user manual for exact instructions for your TV model. Note: The Reset function is not available if you are using an app. The User Manual does not have any information about a factory reset I found the Anynet+-CEC setting and turned it on I power-off the TV Connection Setup Attempt V The Sony Speaker-bar's recessed area of the bank of HDMI ports is also 3-1/2 inches wide; consequently, I cannot direct connect the Roku Ultra Stick that is 3-3/4 inches long into the Sony speaker bar's HDMI OUT (TV ARC) I insert the Roku Ultra Stick into the Sony speaker bar's HDMI IN 3 (HDCP 2.2) I connect a HDMI cable from the Sony speaker-bar's HDMI OUT-TV (ARC) HDCP 2.2 to the Samsung's HDMI-2 (ARC) located on the back of the Samsung TV. I get both the Roku Video and Audio through the Sony Speaker-bar Battle of the Remote Controls After turning on the Anynet+-CEC setting I was able to power-off and power-on the whole system with the Samsung TV Remote Control Model #BN59-01055A Roku Ultra Remote Control (Model #?), I use this while streaming Sony Speaker Bar SA-CT800 Remote Control (Model # RMT-AH31OU) - I don't like this remote control, but I have to learn more about it.

So I’ve been having it all setup same as u instructed for over a year but recently I’ve noticed on my Bose app I’m only seeing 5.1.2 being used via Xbox series X , LGC1 and Bose900 soundbar also have my PC With an RTX 3080 all connected with HDMI 2.1 … which I find strange considering my should display Dolby Atmos not 5.1.2 … in addition on both the pc and Xbox X when I try to utilize the Dolby Atmos App and go to settings it doesn’t work on either platform but it does allow me to enable Dolby Atmos I’m curious to when it won’t allow me to access them as well.

Excellent Video comparison Chris, BIG Well Done..!! This TV (27 April 2024) is £1800 in UK, ...BARGAIN? I'm torn, current set up is 4K Projector, Screen Width 2.4 metres (16:9), 100% Dark Room at All times, Viewed straight on. - I notice the TCL is VA Panel, so Viewing Angles Don't Matter, my question to the community is 'Will the screen size drop be too much a negative experience" - TV Contrast and Black Levels are probably superior to an UST-Pj at similar price?? Thank You g

Hello Chris! I’m in a dilemma and would like your expert opinion on this. So your help would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 I’m stuck between choosing an upscale projector for my purpose built home theatre room with an approximate projection size of 180-190 inches. It’s come down to two shortlised products in the same price catagory. Between the BENQ LK935 and EPSON LS12000B which would you recommend for a dark home theatre room. While the BENQ has higher Lumens and black ratio, it’s been listed on the official website as a conference room projector. While EPSON is marketing their product as a home theatre solution specific for content watching. What would you recommend since it’s quite an expensive investment and I don’t want to buy a product which won’t satisfy my requirements. Thanks a ton and always appreciate your quality content :))
