Welcome to Locust Motorworks where we create farming and tractor HISTORY videos! We started off in 2016 just posting simple day to day farming videos and have grown since. My personal favorite is John Deere 2-Cylinders tractors and the New Generation line up.
Located in Nebraska.
Contact me if you have any questions or comments and have a wonderful day.

Done buying Juan Deeres.
Sweet looking tractor.
John Deere fire Americans works move to Mexico hire Mexican workers and sell back to Americans give them the bud light treatment but this is what happens when you trade your company on the stock market
Can you do a video on the John Deere 520
😂😂😂
Cool
they were the best sounding deere along with d
Nice for small flat yards or strong people that don’t mind pushing it. I have a 14PT but it is a parts donor for my three 14SE self propelled mowers.
Great information! I’ve got two 1950 MT both in original and running condition. Currently restoring one for show use. If you ever visit the heartland, stop by the American thresherman association show in Pincknyville Illinois and get some hands on time with one! It’s the third weekend in august every year.
Sounds great! Ill definitely keep that in mind, hopefully one day i can make it out there. Thanks for watching
I’ve got 4 110s (only 1 runs, 1 I’m restoring and two for parts), two 70s, a little single blade model 68, and a rare electric 90 with an aluminum deck that’s probably worth more the. The entire thing. They into made about 3000 of them from 1972 to 1974 and they’re rare cause theirs not a many of them left. Un-restored units have sold for more then $7000. Could you imagine what a restored unit would go for.
The JD 730 was only in production from 1959 to 1961, they only made them for 3 years, not 4.
JD-4020 Hands Down, most All of my Kinfolk that are still own and operate at least one JD-4020!!!🤠👍🇺🇲
Very true! seems like they will never leave the farm
First rider I used in 1980
I know some people with a farm and they have one of these
That is a really nice looking mower
I agree!
I have a 68 110 I love it use it all the time to mow would really like a loader for it though
A loader for it would be really cool, thanks for watching
I don't think so
Clay you review the IMT 539 it's a balkan tractor but please just review it I subbed and liked just for this❤ Pls
Mfwd baby! 4450
Interesting video. Well done!! I really enjoyed it.
Thank you very much! Appreciate you watching
1963 was only year of the 7hp. 3 speed trans was 63-64 with 3 bolt. 8hp 64-67 for 110. 110 was deeres first garden tractor. Model 60 was first lawn tractor they made in 66
A great video. My dad bought a new propane 720 in 1956 that was our big tractor until 1964. We bought the neighbors 70 diesel. I had the front wheel pedistal breakoff and roll under the tractor while pulling an anhyrous applicator. I cut the engine, jerked the rope on the applicator and ran like heck as the cloud of gas folowed me. Today I own a 1955 JD70 parade ready.
Thanks for watching! A John Deere 70 was the first tractor I ever bought in high school.
A 110 took my big toe and the one next to it when I was 4.
Ouch!
I have an original 110 first gen. It’s really cool. I got it from the original owner about 30 years ago.
That's cool to be the second owner, ever had to do any major repairs to it?
@@LocustMotorWorks no, just a couple of carburetor clean outs. I’ve never really used it for much so it doesn’t really get any wear on it. The saddest thing was one of the front tires blew out on me shortly after I got it so now I have three original tires and one replacement. It’s the same tire that was used on doodle bugs and is impossible to find. I guess that all happened before the google machine so maybe I need to try again.
Fun fact it wouldn't be tell 1989 when the 4955 would beat the 730/720 for fuel efficiency
Another great video Locust Motor Works!!
The 730 was never tested in Nebraska
The 720 was tested there
Do a video on the John Deere 50
Tractor manufacturers did not waste much time making power steering available! Thankfully!
Very true! Im surprised how fast it made it to agriculture
That smart 😮
What location
That’s so cool
EGR systems destroy diesel engines
Wow beautiful JD .
I bought a 110 new in 71. Other than regular maintenance and a deck rebuild in the early 90's it's still mowing. I gave it to my grandson and he gave it a pretty paint job and just loves it.
Awesome to hear its still out working! Thanks for sharing.
@@LocustMotorWorks l really don't think it will ever die. Really all my kids and now grandkids learned how to drive on the old 110. I myself have a JD ZTURN. We are a Green family for sure. I do love the ZTURN but that 110 is one tuff tractor.
The 110 l bought in 71 is now being used by my Grandson. It smokes a little and we put a better deck on it. Grandpa stepped up to a ZTURN.
Heard them used to change center pivot tires. It is the only way to get out in the middle of the field.
I could that working pretty good, better than rolling it by hand to the end of the field. Thanks for watching
Sediment bowl. Not settling bowl !!
It was definitely the best cab put on tractor!! Comfort for the operator was definitely taken care of!!!
My dad has a GM and he used it for a long time as a pulling tractor he also had a 730 that he pulled with a few times but mostly used it for work he saddly sold it after me and him took our last joy ride to an antique tractor show and he will not get rid of his g no matter what
Got a HN believe it's a 1940, has the optional power lift and mudguards fitted.
my grandpa has a 110 round fender and i have a 400 with a 3pt and tons of brinly attachments and a john deere 60 garden tractor
I grew up on a styled A modle and it really brings back so many momories of working the farm as a kid. Cutting hay, bush hoging, breaking ground, disking and pulling a hay wagon. I even used it to break up a fight between our bull and a neighbors bull that had gotten into our field. Well, those were the days.
They are nice cabs, all the windows open. unlike today cabs that have the greenhouse effect
Thats Henry Dreyfuss
In 1958 you could buy a new tractor for $3,700, nowdays you can buy a tractor TIRE for $3,700 !!!
I'll take the DEF over the EGR.. egr is engine killer
I’ve used a 60 and a 7’ woods blade for 45 years with just the two top link knuckles and a 3/4” bolt. Similar to your first setup. I would not want any blade to be loose goosy like your second setup. How does it work in reverse? I imagine not at all? I can swing my blade 180 and use it s a dozer. Never had a snow storm I could not handle this way.
That hood is very valuable!
true! since recording this video it got a crack but we patched it from the inside and is barley noticeable. Thanks for watching
