My old 4020LP was the best I had but "bladed" for many years of Michigan snow, with my 60 and a heavy, worn 8' Rino blade. For 9 winters in Alaska, it was just me and a snow shovel. Anchorage has had over 40" of November snow in both 2022 and 2023! Now in Kansas, I left my snow shovel back in Alaska, 😄.

Great viedo, I like the third link adaptor that’s thinking outside of the biox. Nothing Runs Like A Deere

I have a 1951 TEA 20 Ferguson tractor with 7’ rear blade. Works great.

I used to do all my blade work with my 40U. When I was farming a lot that set up was underpowered and the blade was pretty worn (my dad bought it new in the early sixties). I bought a new Frontier blade for my 5520 mfwd and that’s now my go to setup. Power, traction, speed choice, and great draft control.

My favorite now is my gas JD 70 since it has a wide front. My favorite growing up was our JD 520. It would still be my favorite if I had it.

I’ve used a 60 and a 7’ woods blade for 45 years with just the two top link knuckles and a 3/4” bolt. Similar to your first setup. I would not want any blade to be loose goosy like your second setup. How does it work in reverse? I imagine not at all? I can swing my blade 180 and use it s a dozer. Never had a snow storm I could not handle this way.

Not sure why you would want the rear blade to swing I always hook mine up solid with no swing

Hey Locust, I’ve got a question does the John Deere 1010 have rear hydraulics?
