    Hey man, you just use the rubber 15 pack washers off of Amazon and they work just fine? Just wanted to clarify because I’ve seen people say that they don’t work on newer GM models.

    Does the car need to be in Accessory On mode?

  • @FollowMyLine17

    No, the car should be off. The relay, or jumper, allows the pump to run with the car off. Accessory or Run is not required.

    Do you only use it before lifting or permanently? I am afraid if you loose one at driving there would be a big rumble in the wheel house.🤔 And the Bolts? Will they not remove the paint at the fold and then it will begin to oxidize ?

  • @FollowMyLine17
    @FollowMyLine175 күн бұрын

    Permanently. I’ve done 150+mph with these on, on track in my 2018 SS 1LE, my 2022 SS 1LE and this ZL1 without issue. Those folds barely have any paint on them to begin with, but I don’t think oxidation will be a long term issue. You can always add a layer of paint or clear coat on the pinch weld before you install them.

    Would 15w 50 damage catalytic converters or anything else ? Can it be run all the time ? Do u prefer the 05w 50 in South Carolina 4 seasons ?? Or should I stick with the 0w 40 4 seasons ? Thanks . I’m spending some time on this and hear some different things so I’m kind of now just sticking with your info u come across much better and more factual than other people and their I think so opinions . 👍

  • @FollowMyLine17
    @FollowMyLine1710 күн бұрын

    I appreciate that! As far as 15W-50 all the time, I think you do run the risk of some cold-start internal engine marring, however, many have run the 15W-50 full time without issue, especially since many of these cars are purchased as track toys. If you are using yours on the street primarily, I would stick to the 0W-40 and switch to 5W-50 for track use (or 15W-50 if it’s a ZL1 1LE.) If it sees more high-G loads than grocery store trips, than running the 5W-50 full time is not an issue. I currently run 5W-50 full time, but it’s also not my daily driver. It sees less than 5K miles per year, and most of those are trips to and from the tracks I drive them to.

    It could be, but there are so many variables to consider with a modified engine. I would recommend talking to your engine builder and see what they suggest, since they would be the most familiar with your build. The 50 weight oil may be too much, and they may recommend something more like 0W-40 or even 5W-30.
