Road America // Shortened Session w/ Nick // Day 2 Session 2

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

During Day 2 Session 2, Nick S. joined me for a session on track. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to us, a friend of ours ended up wrecking his car in The Kink as we were heading to the False Grid. This cut our session very short while they recovered and cleared the track. Thankfully, he was ok. Cars can be replaced. Join us as we head out on track during this shortened session.

I had a few questions, do you drive with the windows open all the time? it sounds like it but I can't tell. if so, why? also, do you no-lift shift all the time, or only some of the time?

Hey! Great questions! Yes, windows are down, all the time. Most tracks mandate this as a safety precaution. It allows you to get out of the car easier in the scenario where there may be a fire, and you can't see the door handle, or if it's an electronic release on the door (like in some Corvettes) you can climb out of the window opening. Also, in case of an accident, the glass is contained inside the door, and not blasted throughout the cockpit. As far as NLS, I do it occasionally. It's more of a "mood" and not really strategic. It does not improve lap times whatsoever.

@jerryputerbaugh5437 hey, great questions! The car is stock, so factory tires (285/305 Supercar 3) and wheels (20x10/20x11) and no camber plates. The alignment is at about -2.4 up front and -1.6 out back with zero toe. The brake fluid is endless RF650 (amzn.to/412Dha4) and pads are Raybestos ST45. All of the links to everything I use are in the description.

@@FollowMyLine17 thats impressive - I switched to Apex 19 x 11 all 4 corners with 305 x 30 Goodyear 3R all four corners and -2.7 front and -1.9 rear and Pagid yellow pads and high temp brake fluid - tghe 3R's are all about done after 2 weekends at Mid Ohio - its a lot of car to slow down in the back straight - any thoughts on taking weight out of the car - I noticed your were repositioning yourself in the seat often after high G turns guessing stock seats - I have same problem I'm 6' and 225# wide body so thinking different seats for track day - since tires are gone looking for a better less expensive tire then the 3R - your thoughts
