No guitar should be 10 pounds , You dont want that on stage !!!
@@woltersiegers2815 Thanks so much for watching and commenting. We agree that 10 lbs is on the heavy side, but not unheard of in the guitar world. Many, MANY LP’s are in or over that weight class. Sweet-sounding TL. I have to thank you for that riff around 18.00 mins. Loved adding that to my favorites. If I purchase this TL, I will likely take a router to the back and lighten it a bit. I was 16 or 17 and just learning to play guitar. I had a classical Sears catalog acoustic. I went to a pawn shop and saw a 12 string acoustic, can't remember the brand but it held tune and sounded great. Paid $35 and was on my way. This was in '89 or '90, so no internet. I had no clue how to tune the damn thing lol. I just assumed that every string was tuned normal like EADGBE. I started taking lessons and took my 12 string with me. My guitar teacher who was also a friend laughed when he played it. I learned that day how to properly tune it. I loved that guitar. One day I was playing it outside and dropped it on the concrete and snapped the neck. RIP my old friend lol.

I have this one, same color. I like it a lot, but tuners and nuts needed to be replaced on mine. Unfortunately, the stock tuners turned out to be better than all three sets of the locking tuners I got to replace them. Oh well. Still a really good guitar for the price. Seems to me all you guys that are on KZread get the good fireflies. I ordered the explorer style guitar and the volume controls were reversed and horrible fret buzz.
Hi Mike…thanks for watching and commenting. Trust me, we all draw from the same guitars as anyone else. Most any guitar you order on-line is going to need a setup once it reaches you. It really is a special “surprise” if it don’t. Did you get your Explorer from Amazon? Just wondering…a new set of strings (usually a must) along with a tweak in the neck/bridge will get that buzz out…not sure what you mean about the vol controls being “reversed”….

Great-sounding tele! But what exactly is "engineered rosewood composite"? Does the body contain any actual rosewood?
@@jimmyj4811 It’s a good question JimmyJ and one that I don’t positively know the answer to. I believe the fretboard is rosewood. I think the rest of the body/neck is some type of “molded/engineered” wood. Obviously very solid and certainly looks the part. I don’t think they used any veneer for the top/back nor pieces as I can not find any seams at all except for the obvious “middle” which gives the impression of a “pancake” build like the originals that Fender did. I have asked of course, but this is basically the only info I am getting from FF. Whatever they used, it seems to have worked well. It’s possible that they made up a formula that uses bits, pieces, saw dust, shavings of different types of wood, pulp and resin to form the body/neck. Sand and stain…but I am only speculating at this point in how it was done. Thanks so much for stopping into the channel. Much thanks man….🎸👍
@@JimmyStewart1 I did some research, and supposedly it is another term for Blackwood, belonging to the Koa family.

I have worked with Rosewood many times my pieces didn't need a finish just the light sealer or oil finish. Rosewood can take a high polish by itself and it is an excellent choice for Fine Jewelry. Rosewood can be light or heavy depending on if it grew inside of the tree or close to the Bark Side.... 269 is insane I would have bought it even if I had to completely rebuild and rework it

@@ranman58635 Thanks so much for stopping in. Funny…I see a lot of Firefly’s being sold for more than new price, but most of us are not buying them for perceived “resale value”. I will most likely let my grand kids fight over that…🤣
@@JimmyStewart1, no problem, isn't that inflation? Eventually, it drops. Glad they get to play
@@ranman58635 Inflation…no, not really. Inflation just makes everything cost more as the value of your currency is worth less today than it did yesterday. In the used guitar market, pricing is based on player perception and supply/demand. How many 59 LP Honeybursts were made…how many “NoCasters” etc…etc….funny thing is, not all “old vintage” guitars were good guitars. In the case of Firefly, they are doing things right. Supplying well built, budget instruments that one can use/mod to their hearts content without breaking the bank. Not “overproducing” any one model, which keeps demand up. People walk into their local Guitar Center and see a nice FF 338 or LP/SP hanging on the wall with a price tag of $295 and the Epiphone hanging next to it at $385-$400. I am talking used now…they play both and realize the FF plays/sounds just as nice and offer GC $275 for the FF guitar. Sold they say! They didn’t realize they could go online and buy a new 338 for $189 - $219 and even with shipping, come out ahead. Happens every day…especially with Firefly as they are a smaller brand with limited models and many different finishes that become hard to get once the batch is gone. As far as budget guitars and resale value, they certainly hold their own in that respect. 🎸👍
