Crawling On All Fours

Crawling On All Fours

Crawling On All Fours was created to showcase a mix of hobbies and tasteful creativity with radio control (RC) cars and trucks (rock crawlers, specifically), automotive cleaning / detailing, and general automotive topics centered on things with four wheels. :) The name of the channel reflects the nature of RC rock crawlers, the action of crawling in and out of vehicles while detailing, and "...All Fours" simply clarifies a subject relative to vehicles with four wheels.

The aim is to maintain a clean and creative channel with enough focused variety on a regular basis to keep it interesting for the viewers that search for specific topics like these and to the billions of new viewers that browse through KZread every day.

    I toggle between wheelin my 1:1 built lifted jeep and my 1:10 crawlers. I get miles of walking/running over hilly terrain just chasing my 1:10 crawlers and it's been the best form of exercise I actually look forward to. Great video and filming. It was fun to watch while enjoying my morning coffee.

    Awesome views! Sedona is beautiful. Not surprised that the loose rock/dirt along the trail made for tough navigation. Do you remember what the total assent was from base to the summit you ended up at?

  • @crawlingonallfoursRC
    @crawlingonallfoursRC21 күн бұрын

    Thanks, 'Slaw! :) Sedona is around 4350ft. Bear Mountain summit is a little over 6400ft. and around 5 miles round trip. I believe I went 1.25 to maybe 1.5 miles, so based on some other sites I've researched, I may have ascended around 900-1000ft. I packed TOO MUCH stuff! My pack was around 20-25 pounds with both crawlers (I never even got out the 1/18th scale jobber) and all of the other necessities. You honestly don't need much, except for sunscreen, a good amount of water (the trail authorities recommend 1 gallon per person), and a couple of snacks. I WILL GO BACK ONE DAY!!! :)

I actually talk about them with more detail in my Part 1 video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/nG2Dl7ijnaiplNI.html No joke, probably a day or two before I posted the first video, Jesse had actually modified the mounts to be a little shorter so that you don't have to cut the Mojave back panel. • @gibsonlife573
    @gibsonlife573Ай бұрын

    Only thing I seen that's a weakness on that truck obviously the factory servos which were really fast for being Factory but burnt up within no time and then it has torque twist apparently now they're selling an axle for the rear end before you can flip it and hook it to the other output shaft on the rear of the transmission and be able to get rid of that torque twist but I think they only sell the booger in aluminum why would you have a rear aluminum axle in a plastic up front

  • @crawlingonallfoursRC
    @crawlingonallfoursRCАй бұрын

    Yeah, I try to remain a little ginger on the steering to keep the stock servo as long as I can, but I already have that high on the list for future upgrades. :) Given the exceptionally low weight of this tiny rig, it seems torque twist is pretty common. I agree, doesn't make sense to just do the rear; but at the same time, it doesn't make sense to turn a $165 truck into a $300+ truck plus another $100+ in other upgrades (unless you're intentionally doing something with it, like comps). I'm not knocking other guys that want to do that (go for it!), but I don't have an endless income, ad money, or sponsors, so I can put up with the torque twist and focus on the more affordable upgrades like brass hubs, wheels, etc. Otherwise, I'll put it toward my 1/10 rigs. I appreciate the comments!! Keep crawlin' !! :) :) :)

    Awesome! Glad you liked the video; THANKS for the post!! :) Yes, this is actually my friend's truck; I gave it to him in another video and I remixed some of the driving footage, so this is just that driving footage. Unfortunately, the battery was failing, even though it had a full charge, so we weren't able to run it as long as we had wanted. It's such a great value, though. You get SOOOOOO much right out of the box. If you end up getting one, the first things to upgrade are the links, but there are some cheap overseas links you can find on eBay for around $20 that would probably do the trick.

    I love the original chassis, which is still used on the Sendero HD and Knight-series trucks. This new SE chassis is great, too. The value is ridiculous, and they've dropped the price to $275!! It comes with inner fender liners, servo on axle, [slightly] slimmer axles, and an updated Stealth XF transmission for forward-mounted motors. It's a no-brainer in the crawler hobby. I hope you're able to get one! :)

    Thank you!! The OG Sendero really put Element RC on the map for sure. Granted, Team Associated is already an 800lb gorilla in the RC hobby, but they've proven their business model with a great lineup of trucks. The SE is a great nod to the OG Sendero with some smart improvements of its own, including the forward motor position. That gives you more room for a custom interior. Thanks for commenting on this video!! The OG Enduro was and is still the BEST Element truck they've ever made IMHO. :) Right out of the box, it was the entire RC package: good looks, solid chassis platform, metal components, quiet drivetrain, one of the best gearboxes in the hobby, and decent electronics to get you on the trails and over the rocks. It was very affordable and it delivered tremendous value. I imagine it was a loss-leader for them since the brand was just coming onto the market, so they couldn't keep it at that price when they came out with the HD model. I'm disappointed that they didn't keep the 2-piece body. All 3 of my 1/10 crawlers are Enduro platforms.

    Not sue I have ever had a brushed setup stall in my life ? Good esc will do the job. Using 45turn with 3 cell lipo has been a perfect so far. Have used brushless rigs before never really felt a huge gap in performance honestly. 3 cell gives you all the wheel speed. The 45t motor will get that torque where its needed : ) That being said fusion setup is on sale for less than 100cdn right now. Hard to pass up !!

  • @crawlingonallfoursRC

    Interesting. The motor I originally used was 21-turn on 3S and I was still experiencing the "stall". Granted, the performance was more "scale", so I still give it points for realism. I know all motors aren't created equal; I would actually like to get a brushed system from Holmes Hobbies in the future. My Enduro Sendero truck has the stock Reedy 5-pole motor (it's quiet!) and I had replaced the Reedy ESC (from the video) with a Hobbywing 1080 which is a great combination. It performs wonderfully with 3S. The movement is very smooth. Thanks for the great comment!! :)
