That is not the correct way of Kunku Dai. Lacking Koshi Waza
Question, is this more of gymnastics than dance or is this more of a dance routine than gymnastics?

What is the name of the song?
i just wish she knew her left from her right. i got all mixed up and had to turn the sound down so i could not hear her calling the left the right and the right the left. such a good video though.
very cool! thank you for posting these videos. you are a good teacher and your forms are impeccable.
your form is perfect. wow, you make karate look better than do most people. thank you.
Really nice vidéo. Sincerely great stance 😉😉😉👍
Love this Okinawa island styled Pinan Kata Thank You for sharing!
Nice form! I see elements of Shorin-Ryu's Pinan Shodan there.
this isn't a martial art it's a dance routine
No its kata
No its not,its dancing
@@rikardjohansson2999 this is very much kata it might be sports kata but that's just disrespectful to say that
In my opinion it's not, there is a thing called bunkai, where you apply the teknikes, this is just for show, she is talented and good at movements, but there is no budo teknike in it,just flashy teknikes, the US version of kata, the mcdojo way,and hence there is no martial art in it,just fancy
@@AresZooba11Please educate yourself and read/research the meaning of the Japanese word " Kata" and you will discover that she is just engaging in gymnastics with no knowledge of Martial/Self defense skills

Here he is doing Pyung Ahn Ee-Dan, which is Heian Nidan (Shotokan)/Pinan Shodan (Shorin-Ryu). The Korean version of the Pinan series is called the Pyung Ahn series. There are 5 Pyung Ahn as there are 5 Pinan. The Pyung Ahn names are; Cho-Dan, Ee-Dan, Sam-Dan, Sa-Dan, Oh-Dan. However, keep in mind that Funikoshi, when creating Shotokan the Heian kata from Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Pinan kata, he flipped Pinan Shodan with Pinan Nidan. He thought it made it easier for students to learn. So, Heian Shodan is Pinan Nidan. Heian Nidan is Pinan Shodan. So this would be the second kata in Shorin Ryu but the first kata in Shotokan. And since Most Tae Kwon Do and Tang Soo Do styles originated from Shotokan, you will see the relationship with Heian Kata...

However I am a fan of going back to the Okinawan roots as you get a more clear understanding of the kata and it's purpose of angles of the form, to better use techniques in self-protection. Iain Abernethy is one such Sensei. Hopefully this will help some of you out there get the most from this kata.... Must be a Korean approach.. this barely conforms with the Heian Traditional Japanese Shotokan kata. Can you Bunkai this kata based on what you’re demonstrating?
Good point
Pretty cool
Beautiful kata. I practice Shidokan (Kyokushin offshoot) and our Pinan 1 looks completely different than this. If both are schools of karate why are the kata so different?
Thank you! Our forms are from Tang Soo Do and has Shotokan roots.

@@candidob8683 Thanks for the concise explanation!
@@xGHOSTx-dq8bg You are very welcome! I hope the videos in the last response were a bit helpful as well. Keep Training! 😎
Absolutely love your excellent powerful kata young lady, you so deserve a karate black belt, strong loud KIAI, watch out men if you are foolish enough to dare attack this woman, she will knock your teeth out, crush your balls to a bloody pulp, split your spine in two, shatter your wind pipe, and if like me wear 4 inch stiletto heeled boots stamp your eyes blinding you, I would keep kicking your groin until you pass out, one of the many reasons us women take up karate especially for self defence against a male attacker oss x
I found this while on a quest to refresh my memory for all the katas I used to know. I forgot how difficult this one was back when I was young. Great tutorial!
Glad I could help!

Awsome
helped me get my orange belt
Overall solid form, good basics and good kicking. Tricking got a little repetitive and some transitions need to be faster. Keep up the great work!!
Thanks so much for your constructive feedback! I definitely agree and will spruce it up for next time :)
Satire?
Great Fundamentals. Strong!

Interesting seeing some these Karate styles interpret Shotokan kata in different ways
Thank you!
