Glen GS Tongs

Glen GS Tongs

I hand forge blacksmith tongs of all kinds but also like to use my channel to experiment and forge items I normally wouldn't make. I work with minimal tooling and in an unusually small workspace. Glen - GS Tongs

I was a carpenter for 40+ years but I've never seen windows installed before the framing is finished. They are going to be vulnerable to getting broken while the rest of the framing is being done. Just a little bit of unnecessary risk.

I have a piece of A33 i was gonna make one of these out of to punch the eye for a tomahawk, but i think i am gonna try to make one from an old ballpein hammer first.

It has been very interesting watching your progress building your house as i will likely be building my own soon but with a lot more help thankfully. Your deer is very cute and friendly but please stop feeding it as nothing good will come of it for the deer itself. Wild animals should not be fed human food at all and even food we think would be good for them often isn’t. I love you forging style and look to see more after the house is complete.

You moving back to the States or is it just a place of your own to stay when you come for a visit? You've made a lot of progress since the last video I saw of it, great job sir.

I would have passed out a case of brew and had that boom truck drag your logs. 😅😅

That’s coming along fast. Can’t wait to see it complete. Maybe a come a long to pull those logs. Use your car as an anchor.

Some nice logs for a local portable saw mill. Likely someone has one nearby.

Loving the updates Glen. You have a nice spot there, especially the deer. As my Dad used to say “Where there is a will there is a way”.

That truck and crane would have been good to shift those logs for you.

Might be easier to use the peevee by aiming the point into the log and let the arm drop around the log. then it is east to remove and the log can't roll onto the peevee.

Living a mere two hours North of you I can tell you shot this video before the weekend rains hit, and I bet you're glad you got the trusses in before the sky opened. Looks great! We had a baby deer on the property yesterday, cute little spotted number.

You could make deck with a garden door on the face of those trusses. Raised off the ground with a porch underneath. 🤔

Keep your exercise going and don't get down if the work isn't done at lightspeed! Your on your way to getting that habitation stamp!

The framing looks good, as well it should. You'll have to settle, on not using metal. And use wood in this neighborhood.
