Hi my friend and thank you very much for your very big donation. It really goes a long way to helping out. I would like to give you my usual shout-out for your generosity in an upcoming video so please email me when you get a chance. Thanks so much. Glen 😬 gstongs@gmail.com

@@gstongs No... Thank You very much. You have inspired me and taught me much over the years with your videos. Your minimalistic approach to situations makes for a unique and interesting but simple solution to so many things. It shows me that you don't need all the expensive tools to get the job done. I look forward to seeing your new home. But honestly Im more interested in that shed. I cant wait to see what you have planned. As for the shout-out. None needed for me.. But if it helps in the cause for more support, feel free. We all need some help from time to time. I hope it helps in some way. Good Luck and keep fooling around. 😁
Welcome back to Earth.

Yeah, I can see how working on a property never ends. Trying to enjoy the journey... Thanks.
Awesome Glen!! Welcome back to the states. I bet when you're finished it will be as nice as your last home. That was a masterpiece of work you did on that property!!

Hey Jeff, Great to hear from you. I learned a lot from that place and all the mistakes I made along the way. Well, I'm still making mistakes but having fun! I really like this small property - much more manageable. I hope all is well with you brother.
Looks like a nice peaceful area mate. After living so long in the big smoke, I assume your ears are ringing at night. Keep us posted mate. I'd love to see the development.👍

Hi James, you absolutely hit the nail directly on the head. The first few days my ears were seriously ringing - the constant Taipei city noise still in my head... I'll keep doing updates. Thanks.
Very exciting.

Yes, exciting but exhausting. Thanks.
If you can get yourself a set of harrows, use that in your pad. Better than rebar or page wire for concrete. Keep us posted, please.🤙🤙
@gstongs

I used those welded wire sheets - pad seems good but it could take a while to know for sure. Glad you enjoy these updates. Thanks Scott.
❤ awesome!

I'm really glad you're up for these updates. I want to get back to blacksmithing videos but it will take time. Thanks.
Great to see you in CONUS working on your dream! It looks like all is in order just waiting for the batch truck and pumper to roll up! Keep us posted when time allows Glen!!

Yeah Robert, things are moving along and I'll keep doing these updates. Your input and advice is greatly appreciated. It can be daunting but I'm all in and having fun. Thanks.
Welcome back to the states and glad things are moving along well this state can be slow on things like permits have been in the trade the years looking good 👍🏻
@gstongs

Funny you say that as I waited quite a while for the permit. And inspections along the way also take time. Thanks.
So excited to see the progress on your property, Glen! As we noted before, I am just a couple.of hours South of your property. Can't wait until you are here and settled in!

Hey Steve, we may get to that point where a meet up is good. I'll keep posting updates as I can. Thanks for your support and I haven't forgotten your shout-out - well, I did forget for my next video but coming... Thanks.
Welcome Glen to the USA. Washington produces more apples, pears, red raspberries, and sweet cherries than any other state. And, more than 75 percent of all the hops grown in the US.
@gstongs
27 күн бұрын
I like all those fruits so good for me! I haven't had a beer in a long while though hops are in other things. Thanks for your well wishes Ron.
Getting a good start at it Glenn! Congratulations on your new home. Hmmm slope, may be a good place for a French drain. Hmmmm smithy floor. Consider cattle panels. Welded "wire" that's pretty heavy gauge. I did that on a smaller style foundation mean avg 4 in thick in a storage unit 10x16. Foundation is still there some 30 plus years later . Blessings friend and best of luck Crawford out 🙏🏻🔥⚒️🧙🏻♂️

Thanks Crystal. I may take you up on that. And feel free to come down and visit.
I'm interested in the house building stuff Glen, do what you need to do. I like that you're not building a great big workshop, although I imagine compared to your balcony in Taiwan that is pretty big. If you keep sharing, I'll keep watching, liking and saying hello.

I'm very glad you're interested in this and so I will continue to post updates. Nice to do something different - nerve wracking at times but I'm also having fun. Thanks.
Your property looks great so green unlike here Keep posting your progress on your home

Hi Alan, yeah, it's very green right now - lots of intermittent rain and sun at this time of year and grass and other green growing quickly. Thanks.
Awesome Glen. You finally be back state side one of these days. If you werent so far away from texas id bring my framing trailer and we could whoop that house out in a couple of days.

Hi Glen, I purchased all my tongs from you when you were in the other house and that little blacksmith shop. I hope this one is just as good.😀

It seems we've come full circle. I more clear about what I want and don't want now and so my shop will be small and cozy. Thanks for your support and I hope your tongs are working.
Coverage of the building of your home would make great content. may God bless your efforts.

Awesome stuff man! I'm 6 months into building my 12x20 cabin with a shed roof by myself. Just a little at a time.
@gstongs

I can't take as much time (at this point) as you but the little at a time approach is the way to go, if possible. Thanks and good luck with your cabin.
Good luck with your job Glen

Hi Reg, this sure is a long road to go down; lots to do and manage. Thanks for your well wishes.
Hope inflation doesn’t scare you off.. Are you moving back here permanently?
@gstongs
27 күн бұрын
Eventually it will be permanent but for now, Taiwan is still my full-time home. Inflation here is no joke... Thanks
Looks like a beautiful lot! Love the trees. Keep us updated on the progress. Will you be living in the US permanently once your house is completed?
@gstongs
27 күн бұрын
I like my small property. I feel at peace out there most days. Eventually I'll be there full-time but Taiwan is still home for now. Thanks.
Welcome to Washington, I’m in Snohomish if you need a shop.
@gstongs

I really appreciate your offer. The blacksmithing community is very accommodating. Thanks.
Hey Glen …good deal being in USA….that crazy ping- pong- gong is going to move on Taiwan. The computer chip manufacturing there is out of this world cash wise and it’s huge. Always mention on stock reports…..good to see construction going on it makes for a change. Stay well…..Steve B.

I guess it's good to have an exit strategy. But Taiwan will always be home whether I'm there or not. I'll keep up with the updates. Thanks.
Will you be moving to Washington and doing your blacksmithing there?
@gstongs

Eventually but Taiwan is still in my near future. Thanks.
Welcome back. Will you be having a Hammer in? Hope you make it to Arizona to share your expertise
@gstongs

With the small shop I want to build, any hammer-in will be cramped. Thanks for your well wishes.
Greetings from Whidbey Island, Washington. Where in Washington will you be living?

I'm in NW WA, Shelton - I used to live in SW WA. and that's where I'm staying for the time being. Thanks.
Uh oh.....leaving Taiwan. Something bad about to happen over there?
@gstongs

I'm not leaving - just taking a sabbatical. I'll always consider Taiwan as home even if I'm here full-time. Thanks.
