My family and I are fine, some others, not so much. Biggest earthquake I've ever felt. Thanks for your well wishes.

I have used some of your principles and I got to say you have obviously put a lot of thought and experimentation into your tongs. The process can sometimes look over complicated but every detail has a specific and well thought out reason and makes for really exceptional tongs (Nothing fancy is something you say a lot but these really are exceptional tools) Thanks for sharing

Sometimes I might over-complicate things with tongs but in the process of trying this and that, I sometimes stumble onto a way that works better for me. Thanks for your kind comment.

Another very cool idea 💡. I'm the same way. On some things, I don't want it to be " pretty " , I just need it to do its job.

another really simple but effective "shaping tool". and might i say you must have "Foundry Hands" you use a Gas forge ( like most of us ) so we know it heats up the entire piece ...grabbing it no gloves ! kudos

I constantly cool the ends I'm holding. Sure, my hands have gotten used to heat some but I haven't developed any super power yet! Thanks Greg.

I've been using a hold down on top of a bolster plate then use a set hammer to drive it down. I think I did this in my last tong video. (Actually I forgot to do the offset before riveting in my most recent tong video. Last video it's in is my bent knee tongs.)

After a certain point, everyone seems to go about tongs in slightly different ways and so long as the tongs work, that's all that probably matters. Thanks.
