I hope you enjoyed your time in Windsor. Looks like you were here during the end of June. Hope you were able to catch the Ford fireworks over the Detroit river. It is always wonderful to see on both sides but Windsor has more waterfeont to catch it. I find Sue2knits has way more stock and choices. She is also a wonderful lady to spend time with. I usually drive out to her. Since Detroit is so close there are some wonderful yarn shops over there as well Michigan yarn, Spun in Ann arbor, Ewenique knits in Royal Oak etc. Unfortunately downtown only comes alive during certain times of the air such aa WIFF and Saturday market on Pelissier. Windsor and Essex county seems to have a lot to offer. Seems lots of people are moving here. I do wish they would liven up downtown like Kingsville, Amherstburg and Walkerville area. You should try and catch a tour ofthe Willistead manor, we are part of the wine trail so lots of wineries, great pizza (there is a documentary about Windsor pizza), the Gordie Howe bridge will be completed in 2025 as well.

Hmm, I wonder if you could make it work by knitting the smallest size and using fingering weight yarn (not DK as in the pattern). I forget how small a 1 year old is! Another option would be to find a toddler sized pattern (Tincan knits has a lot and free too I think) and then you could insert the cowboy hat and cowboy boot charts into that?

About your Isleburgh Toorie hat fit, I have the same problem. I don’t think my head is particularly small, but I want to fit just so and I don’t want it to be too long. I’ve done the same thing as you in making a hat too short because I don’t want it too long ha ha. I’m still searching for the perfect hat, apparently. I’m also somewhat of a loose litter. While I am quite brave in the projects I knit, it’s with a little trepidation when I start a new hat. Good luck! I hope you find lots of Leanne time. Take care. 🧶 ❤

Hi Leanne. I love seeing that you are filming from Saskatoon. I worked for about 10 years as a teacher in Kuwait. For a while I hade a colleague/friend who called Calgary home, but for several years when he worked at the same school he would bring me a very special gift from Saskatoon after he returned from his summer holiday - Saskatoon Berry Jam! Oh how delicious that was! I always saved it for very special occasions, or when I really needed a little emotional pick-me-up. Toast and Saskatoon Berry jam works like magic. Is there anything cuter than those frogs? I haven’t ever knit with un-spun yarn and I’m very, very hesitant to get onto that bandwagon. I’m afraid house chores are calling - my visit today will have to end. Until tomorrow. Thanks for the visit. Salam wa sa’aadah

Do you think I could use the chart from the adult sweater you made to make a smaller one? I've been knitting for over 50 years, but I would say I'm only intermediate. Unless you know of a pattern? Thanks, Leeanne!
@@theknittystew Thanks! I was thinking of doing the 2nd option, and just downsizing the charts somehow. I'll send you a pic if/when I get it done!
Fabulous as always Leanne 🥰 smiled the whole way through (as usual). Your floats 💪🏻💕 Spinning 😂 I’m not a spinner (yet?!#%) but I know once/if I start it will be a deep rabbit hole, enjoy! Wishing you a fun and relaxed summer, thanks for sharing, Karen 😘
@@casuarinagirl8067 Thank you Karen! 😊
I think its so sweet of you to knit a arm warmer for Mom #2. I imagine her loving it...
I enjoy your podcast so much Leanne! Always end up adding something new to my favorites or queue and add a new destination to my bucket list. I hope your time away rejuvenates and nurtures your soul. <3
Your podcasts keep getting better & better Leanne! You did a great job & it's so awesome to travel with you on your trips. I commuted to Windsor from Chatham for several years & good to see you include it. Good for you deciding to take a break. Wondering which sweater you will go to more often - the Zweig or the Sunset Highway?
About your Isleburgh Toorie hat fit, I have the same problem. I don’t think my head is particularly small, but I want to fit just so and I don’t want it to be too long. I’ve done the same thing as you in making a hat too short because I don’t want it too long ha ha. I’m still searching for the perfect hat, apparently. I’m also somewhat of a loose litter. While I am quite brave in the projects I knit, it’s with a little trepidation when I start a new hat. Good luck! I hope you find lots of Leanne time. Take care. 🧶 ❤
I might have to copy your first colorwork sweater because I love those colors together! Great podcast!
Yay! Thanks Nicole! Colourwork twins!
Love your colorwork hats…. And also your Sunset Highway wip. That was my first colorwork sweater to make and my favorite!!
It REALLY has the wow factor! Love Caitlin Hunter’s colourwork patterns.
I made the Garden Cardigan when it first came out. It’s a fun, easy pattern. I used mohair held with merino so I haven’t been able to wear it much, but come the fall, I know I’ll enjoy it.
Oh yes that sounds lovely!!
I so appreciate your podcasts and love hearing about your travels and yarn adventures! Enjoy your summer and can’t wait to see the catch-up when you return!
Thank you so much Melissa!
I enjoy your podcasts so much, so pleasant and relaxing. But you should definitely take time for you, and we’ll miss you. Enjoy your time and know we’re sending good thoughts.
Thank you Rosemary!
Thank you for recommending the Skimmer Socks - I had never come across them before but they will be perfect! See you when you return - enjoy your break!
Let me know how they work for you!
Patty Lyon's book "Knitting bag of tricks" shows how to avoid the holes created doing German short rows. Your sweater is gorgeous. Love that green
I agree there is a tip for resolving the purl short row in the book. It's an excellent resource
Yes, I had the same issue with German short rows on my no frills. Thought I goofed!
I’m going to have to search up Patty Lyon’s solution 👍🏼
Oh what a wonderful episode, once again! Your projects are beautiful and the bits of city tour/yarn shops tour are just amazing. I feel like I get a little chance to see places I’m now unable to go by myself. Thank you for taking us along. Until next one. PS I love Artistic Yarns by Abi! Salam wa sa’aadah
