    Hi thanks for making this video. Does anyone know how to get the LOD's to not pop though? As you move forward towards the object and backwards away from the object, both the model of the building and its shadows being cast popped noticeably. I have tried using Cross Fade but that still pops. So I am wondering if this is a setting somewhere or everyone is just fine with the popping? Thanks in advance.

    looks amazing, thanks for sharing! IMO the only thing breaking the illusion of Reality in this scene is the unrealistic glass (IMO it should be more reflective, now iit looks more like some plastic) and the flickering of the plants in distance . This is something that I have to deal with my HDRP scenes too and it sucks... Especially the part when having many plant prefabs it slows down my scene performance so much and I haven't found a samrt solution for that :/

  • @SetaLevelDesign
    @SetaLevelDesign4 күн бұрын

    I had a problem with windows elsewhere. Because while with SSReflection turned on, the windows looked perfect as they should, but there was a problem with the unity water, as it was not rendered when you looked at it through the glass. Theoretically, you just need to change the rendering order to make it work properly, but I couldn't find it in the Unity Water settings:/

    How are you able to add so many different vegatation/tree models? I can only add 3 different trees, then my project starts lagging a lot. :(

  • @SetaLevelDesign
    @SetaLevelDesign3 күн бұрын

    Weird. It's possible that the models you use are poorly optimized, because I've already seen one tree have 2M tris, so 10 of them on the scene and performance around 15FPS. And remember that it is best to add most models as terrain trees and not as objects, because then the performance is better:)

  • @crimsonvogel
    @crimsonvogel2 күн бұрын

    @@SetaLevelDesign Hmm, I"m using low poly trees. The biggest one is 18k tris (L0D0). My whole scene has 12M tris total (and I have 0 saved from batching, so maybe I have to learn how to batch)

    A thing I'm confused about: Isn't the SRP batcher supposed to override the GPU instancing?

  • @SetaLevelDesign
    @SetaLevelDesign8 күн бұрын

    That's right, but the choice is up to you and you can always turn off SRP batcher and use GPU instancing, and besides, in HDRP you can't turn off GPU instancing in paint detail because detail mesh doesn't support VertexLit or Grass:/

    Unfortunately, unity alone cannot cope with generating huge amounts of grass, you have to use, for example, Foliage Renderer/Nature Renderer or other methods. Here I showed how to do it in typical Unity and by using and understanding these techniques you can create a large area with grass, but not the entire map:)

    Hi ! and thank a lot for your tutorial, but I got an issue, in URP when I use it, it also lights up the shadow areas, so when I want to increase the intensity of my directional light everything is lit up and the shadow areas end up super-lit. Hello Seta. Can I buy environment assets and use them in my scene, when I sell my assets? I create castles and want to sell them. But I need some environment so that it looks nice. The scene looks empty without trees, bushes, etc.

  • @SetaLevelDesign
    @SetaLevelDesign15 күн бұрын

    Unfortunately, you can't do something like that because you can't resell purchased assets. And 99% of the time, the asset store will reject such a package. There are two alternatives to this. First, you would have to write to the creators of the asset you want to use, to give you permission in writing (very small chance) and the second, better alternative is to use models belonging to Unity, i.e. those found in HDRP Demo and Book of Dead. Then in the manual you include information about Third-party assets and unity passes such a package without a problem:)

  • @juliaalder2007
    @juliaalder200714 күн бұрын

    @SetaLevelDesign Thanks for the reply. To only offer for HDRP is not an option for me. I don't get it. Unity wants us to sell our stuff, but a huge environment just looks odd without vegetation. How are we supposed to render a video from the sample scene without a single blade of grass? I was really frustrated yesterday and made my own tree generator in Blender with geometry nodes. Then plants. It's really a shame that they don't give us anything which works in all of the pipelines. Even the Sample Assets from Terrain Tools have this crazy EULA license. 😵‍💫

    @@juliaalder2007 Unity Terrain is also available for URP, but you're probably looking for something for build-in as well. Yes, Unity should definitely provide a package for developers with basic assets so that they can be used for demo scenes.
