  Hey there....nicely shot video. Thank you for uploading! Do you mind sharing what # was this lovely campsite at the campground? And what time of the year was it when you camped there? I have been trying for months to secure a campsite at Porteau Cove and can never secure one other than in Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb. Each campsite gets booked literally exactly at 7AM PT 4 months in advance, i.e. when the booking window opens. Any strategies or tips on how to secure one will be much appreciated as well!

  Thanks for watching! This was site #37 and around Jan/Feb. Yea I was never able to book Porteau Cove during summer..😅 I pretty much gave up after months of trying.

  watching you videos out of time; was the kodiak a pain in our BC climate? I've owned tentipi and mec tents in the past, and about to go the kodiak route here on the island. (really enjoying your videos)

  It's relatively easy to set up but painful to dry it. It's a great tent but I don't think I'll recommend using it during rainy season.

  Ive been wondering as i want to get a portable wood firepit too...are we allowed to use our own in bc campgrounds? I read that we had to use the one on site? I hate that cuz campers dump all sorts of nasty stuff into those pits. 😢

  In BC campgrounds, official rule says you can only use it in the designated fire ring; however, I always ask at the gate if I can use my own and they always tell me it's fine as long as I keep it within my campsite. So yea, always ask at the gate and follow their instructions. I do agree that sometimes I find unspeakable things in those provided fire pits 😅

  Thanks for watching and we went there last year. I just checked the website and it's working fine. Make sure you go into Backcountry tab and search Garibaldi park. From there you can pick Elfin Lake for reservation.

  This is Porteau Cove campground in BC Canada. Site number is #37. I think it's one of the best sites because it's right next to the water and almost as big as a double site. Only downside is that it is far from the bathroom.

  If it's cast iron or steel, go for it 😎But if it's one of those lighter anodized aluminum ones with non-stick coating, they're not safe over a campfire.
