Feeling fantastic too🎉

The Stuttering Skater has mastered the perfect holds for this camera to get the most natural angles. It’s exhilarating to watch him negate his angles make it feel like you’re skating along with him.
Bueno. Gracias
A question... Why are your guysis skates so loose they are barely hanging on? I read that I need to tighten mine quite a lot..
I always recommend skaters tighten their ankle straps properly so that they support you better, but Lukas obviously likes his looser. However, there are moments when he overbalances on the outside edge showing that he needs to make a lot of adjustments with his body to balance.....this would be easier if he tightened his top strap. Many higher level skaters in my opinion don't do up their skates in the best way to support them, so don't copy that!
Super cool❤
what camera is that??
It's the Insta360 camera.
Cuki! Imádom! 😍
I guess the cameraperson might feel dizzy after filming this video.😄 Thank you, Asha, for another awesome video! Love your T-shirt❤
Thanks for watching! The T-shirt is from the Skatefresh range and available in various colours - I really like the black one..... if you want to see it's here; skatefreshtshirts.teemill.com/product/it-s-a-wheel-thing-mens-dffdfdfdfdfd/
i have a quesstion about sizing if anyone in the community can help :( ive been looking far and wide and still cannot seem to find any answer.. i have a skate thats a size 8 and after a few sessions it started to hurt my feet to the point i had to take the skates off.. now i got a size 9 and they are too big as i can feel my heel coming up. i dont see any half sizes in the skate i like and i am at a loss :( i dont want to buy an insert thats $200 or something, i really just wanted a skate that fits if anyone could help i really appreciate it..sorry to comment here i couldnt sign up for reddit
Sorry you're having this challenge but it's a very common issue when having ti buy online and being unable to try boots on beforehand. Can I ask you about the foot pain you had in the size 8s? Was it aa rubbing/too tight pain as in, was the boot putting pressure on specific parts of your foot eg little toe getting crushed or ball of the foot going numb due to the toe box being too narrow for your foot? Or did you have red, rubbed areas on your feet or the beginning of blisters forming? These are all signs of skates being too small for sure. However there are lots of different kinds of foot pains and rubbing, tightness, pressure points are just one cause of skater foot pain. The other kinds of foot pain are different and are more muscular, cramp-like or acheyness which intensifies to the point you need to remove the skates and then the pains instantly disappear. If you had those kinds of pains then they are less likely to be caused by the skates being too small and more likely are about extreme foot tension and 'gripping' with the toes. This is all unconscious and usually not obvious unless you really study it and put your attention in your feet and the soles of your feet when actually skating to see if you can identify one kind of pain from this other kind of pain. If it's the second kind, then this is caused by incorrect technique and having your weight too far back on your foot/feet, such as mid-foot or towards the heel. This causes the toes to grip like crazy to maintain balance and this gripping causes horrendous pains after about 5-10 minutes. Are you 100% sure your pains are the "skates too small" pains? Has this given you any further insights you can share?
@@SkatefreshVideos Wow thank you for the response!! And it felt more so being crushed by the boot. It is the upper part of my foot just below my toes was being crushed by the skate. Both feet started to go numb after skating with them for about two weeks. At first, I thought it was just due to me breaking them in and possibly the technique as you said but I read your feet should not be getting crushed or feeling any pain. They were getting so uncomfortable I couldn't even skate and had to take them off. As soon as I took them off, I had no pain in my feet at all after about 5 minutes each time I skated. I was thinking of buying mens because I have wide feet for a woman and even when they say its wide, it's usually not enough.
Rolling ba be no other way
Szuper! Imádom!😍
How can I skate with yall? I’m a local
Well rollerblade I mean
I was just in Miami for that event back in Feb. You can contact the local group there on Facebook called Soberollers.
@@SkatefreshVideos thank you 😊
🎣 I don’t get the comment. Do you mean that it’s difficult to think about where the camera is in relation to your next turn so you can change hands etc? If so, don’t worry about it, I think it looks great and I’m sure it would no matter what angle the camera is at.
What I meant is that I do a lot of transitions from forwards to backwards when I skate and this means swapping hands so the camera doesn’t whizz around as that looks kinda weird and can make the viewer feel a bit nauseous (not the intention). So I still have to figure out this stuff. More practice needed!
❤️❤️❤️👏👏
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Cool❤
Very cool! Now I have a sudden urge to go skate right now 😊
Do it! Go skate. You won’t regret it.
Would love to have your blue sky :-D - currently in Maastricht (lovely skating area) and were using every non raining minute.
I feel you. We’ve had the wettest winter ever so this sunshine feels very blessed (and needed!)
Nice narration and analysis. Love your voice.
Thank you kindly!
trust me no one is trying to copy speed skaters lol 🎉 most people skate for fun super casual
I'm afraid I have to disagree. Many (if not most) intermediate level skaters unconsciously lean forwards into a sort of 'speed skater stance' when they're trying to skate faster and this is often accompanied by the V-ing explained in this video. I agree that they're not copying them intentionally but it's more an unconscious thing that happens. Leaning forwards without the amount of knee bend that speed skaters actually use, then causes a host of other problems....
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ .👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nice pants 😎
pure art!
What's the weight distribution on both legs when backwards scissor just free riding? How do you manage to jump a one meter area with what looked a minimal of jump?
A cruising backwards Scissor position needs more weight on the trailing leg about 60-70% so that if you roll over a surface obstacle or rougher patch, the leading skate will be lighter so won't 'catch' on it and trip you up. The backwards jumps I do over metal covers (and other things that I want to avoid rolling over) do probably cover a distance or 1-3m with a pretty small jump. How? High speed. Video is a little deceptive in terms of showing speed and the most frequent comment I get in real life for example during a street skate is surprise at how fast I can go backwards. SO with higher speed and a tiny jump I cover several metres easily. If I was going half the speed I'd have to jump twice as high. Higher jumps are more risky as the landing needs to be very solid. But I'm not advocating people go super fast backwards unless they are comfortable with that speed. Backward speed takes many years to develop safely so no rush!
@@SkatefreshVideos ah ok makes sense everything.
Great Job first time with camera 🎉
Thank you!! 😁 Lots to work on
Nice
It's just a pleasure to watch you skate Asha. You make it look so easy. I just appreciate the skills.👌
Thank you. When technique is correct, anything then looks easy, at whatever level.
Amazing to watch you and hear all the little details especially the cobbles and how the road condition affects your decisions 😊
Yes there's a lot of decisions going on constantly as to where is safest to roll. I like avoiding stuff whether that's jumping it or missing it.... Happy this format is useful.
What frame is this? :)
That's the @NNskates 4x90 frame, slightly rockered.
@@SkatefreshVideos thanks for your anwser! Does it make that much difference to flat frames? I am looking for something more agile as i have problems carving well, sharp turns etc smooth movement /180's. Have never used rocker frames. Or do you suggest i practice more on my flat setup?
loved it and the commentary !! ... after this mornings discouraging trying to learn to skate in Tescos carpark, it was great to be inspired again .... keep up the posts !
Thanks for the feedback. Can you identify why your session was discouraging? Are you new to skating? I do hope something there unlocks something for you in a positive way. skatefresh.com/product/how-to-skate-beginner-level-full-course/
@@SkatefreshVideos Thanks, Yes I am 50y/o beginner with about 10 hours under my belt. Looking at content of your Beginner and Intermediate courses I felt that I didnt want to invest in the Beginner course and then have to buy the intermediate almost straight after and I could just move straight to the intermediate and save money .... but I just had a bad day today so think I just do need to start with the complete basics.
There’s probably nothing that will benefit you more than supremely mastering ALL the basic skills covered in the beginner course. Skipping those or having them half baked will come back and bite you later by getting stuck on intermediate stuff….. but let us know how you go.
It's our most favourite angle, we need more of it! 😊
😍
nice upload, like always.... also lovin the Stu, the cool quad skater in the background!
@skaterstu_brightonskate is our videographer and my partner while also being an incredible Quaddie skater. I prefer the footage from the Insta360 when he's holding it, but I needed to experiment with holding it myself. but that's not my preference. I need to build up some bicep strength first, it's not light!
Excellent excellent video 👏👏👏👏
This was superb. I could easily watch 8 hours of only you skating, it's like physical poetry.
That's very sweet of you, thank you. I'll try to keep composing the physical poetry....
any recommendations for routes to skate in brighton? i usually just go the length of the seafront or the backroads to shoreham. dont mind uphills but dont like downhills.
Lewes Rd and London Rd have now been resurfaced and they are pretty flat. But unless you gain some downhill speed control & reliable stopping methods, you'll always be limited on slopes. I'm running a Stops & Slides class in Brighton Sunday 9th June. This could be your first step to getting downhill fluency on your radar. Details here; skatefresh.com/inline-skating-lessons/brighton-skating-lessons/
I've also found the side and or the following cam view to be best, when skating backwards. One tip I'll give for the BEST quality possible, is to use the PC desktop app to export the video files. Do NOT use the mobile app, unless you want your files limited to 1080 resolution, which is a waste since the X3 captures 4K.
Thanks for that. I'm still figuring out all the settings. Next one will be better quality.
This was great - and really helpful too. Seeing UK streets handled 'out loud' is completely relatable. And I think I'm maybe doing the lunge turn after all when I thought I couldn't! - I don't know. More videos like this would be really welcome. Thanks for posting it 🙏
Good to know. I watch the USA/Canadian skaters and having skated there myself I observe how most of their main roads are larger, at least 2 or 3 lanes and all the traffic is going in the same direction. The UK's streets are tiny and narrow in comparison and usually always 2 way traffic, so this hugely increases the risks as cars are always pulling out onto the street etc. Street skating in the USA for me is so relaxing compared to the UK.....
