Hi, we're Alejandra and Warner, a conscious couple trying to live an alternative live. This may sometimes translate into us slow living in and renovating an off-grid stone cabin in the mountains of Spain (our base). And at others, into traveling the world, house-sitting, and calmly exploring and enjoying other cultures (our greatest passion). Have you tried taking vitamin D supplements? Living in a cold area where we're always covered up causes chronic vit. D deficiency. We should ideally get at least 20 minutes of sunshine on our skin every day, but in cold countries it's very difficult.

Yo soy gallega y llevamos un mes de junio horroroso, nos fuimos unos dias a Canarias para coger algo de sol.y muy habitual que la gente tenga déficit de vitamina D.el sitio donde estais es paradisiaco,pero claro el tiempo.....tened paciencia con constructores y todo ese mundo ,por aquí eso es un horror mucha espera y poca formalidad, en fin paciencia!!!!! Mucho animo!!

As a bad sleeper, magnesium has helped. Also vitamin B12. Also regular bed time and no screen time after 10. My sympathy it makes you feel exhausted

I ride a bike for fun and relaxation. I have an old one, probably about a hundred years old. I call my bike jelly because everything shakes like it's about to fall apart, which was nice living in a big city - everyone was moving to the sides when I was riding through the market square in the center of Krakow. Currently, temporarily living in a small Polish town, I ride through forests and meadows and tell my bike that it is a high-class mountain bike and that we can handle it in difficult conditions. 🚴 I have seen many channels on YT who receive electric bikes from sponsors and manufacturers. I think they would be great in your circumstances.
About health issue - Ale, maybe do test for Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases for example bartonellosis, barbesiosis etc.

I am the constantly thinking person who spends time productively, cleans, organizes, at high speed, and my husband is the one who maybe later, maybe relax, maybe play, maybe have a hobby, is a man at low speed, lazier. I think it's good that such different people pair up, because I would be so busy doing and thinking about everything on my own, without breaks and rest, and he wouldn't be able to handle anything without my mobilization, productivity and organization. Such relationships have a positive impact on each other, provided that people understand each other's needs and limitations.

Good idea! In the redesign of the cabin we have included three roof windows to bring more light in. We cannot wait till next year when the roof is renovated!

We're in the permit process for the other land, but since it's a protected area, this will take a couple of years. So in the meantime we're living and working in the place we're in now.

We got rid of a lot but not all unfortunately. We’re waiting for the weather to be better to do another round and be able to keep the windows open for a bit 😅

you are in a beautiful area there at the top of the mountains, an alternate lifestyle means 'slowing' down, living this way is hard work but you do it at your own pace til you start having animals... the wild flowers are amazing & wish i had that; stop stressing over things out of your control, things will happen eventually & even the builders will get there too, just book them in so it does happen. your trees are doing well now, perhaps put 1 or 2 raised small raised garden beds for a few vegetables; just had a thought for your septic outlet, cos it's always moist, mint would grow well there as would other water loving plants. also who needs animals when the neighbours animals always visiting you :)) loving your channel thanx for sharing
another question about the roof, will you be changing it out completely or are you planning on fixing it back to original, which looks like stone/slate?
@@selinab8532 We have to keep the stone slates, because the house is in a protected area. So we're going to take them off, install a new ceiling and put insulation and then put the existing stone slates back on.

Yes, we wish the works on the house could take place sooner because it’s so true that comfort is fundamental! As for the cows, they do rotate around but we’ve chosen to not have them coming to this land as they would cause too much damage to the plants etc. We love having them as neighbours though 😊

I love donkeys, too. If you eventually rescue keep in mind that donkeys should have at least one other donkey to live with. They get very depressed otherwise. Love your videos.

Cows are incredibly sweet, and not as dumb as most people think. It’s incredibly sad how they get treated 😢 Wow, what a heavenly spot by the water Yes, I love donkeys too!!! I wish I could have a donkey, a goat and chickens…….. Warner, I’m an Oma, and I think I’m a great driver, but then again, I compare myself to American drivers……….😳🙄😄
Driving in America is an art in itself haha. I was there for a half year road trip and it was definitely eye opening 😊 The spot by the water is our favourite in the whole valley. It's such a beautiful place. Hugs from Spain!
I have now watched the whole video, had to stop several times as i had so many comments, loved the video loved 😢 missing the cows segment really raised awareness on the downsides of the dairy industry.
