Saka left back, Palmer LW and TAA RB. Guaranteed to create more than 4 chances in 5 games
Truth had been spoken.
No what is the reality is that you are expecting a 25-30 year old ronaldo doing ballon d'or things at 39. It was an incredible game from both sides alot of occasions but sadly luck wasn't on the side of Portugal vs France.
what ballon d'or thing did he do at 39?
@@Samiul-The-Weekend-Traveller that's the point i'm making... He is expecting to see a worthy ballon d'or ronaldo at 39 years of age
So you literally said he is just a normal player now. So why the special treatment? Why can’t he be blamed for some of his bad plays.
He is a below average player now.
@@Samiul-The-Weekend-Traveller Yes, in my honest opinion and respect aside, he is the weakest link in Portugal team. At least at the moment
Lmao blaming the striker who was absolutely isolated. None of the player provided him with the crosses. Bruno dropped a stinker. Switch Marcelo with any Portuguese teammate, watch him score the goals.
Taking all the free kick and pen for his self record is so selfish😅
@@dfaiz5431 tell me another better free-kick and penalty taker in portuguese squad than him? mfs can't even provide a proper cross/pass. lmao "... seLFIsh"
Ronaldo was a statue. He barely did any running and be real every defender had him in their pocket. He’s too old he should be a sub and come on in like the 70th minute or more
Impressive way to get some views😂
Gutted to see him go, price is about what I'd want given he's grown at club, local lad and bags of talent/potential.. hope he does well.
Brilliant deal. No complaints from Newcastle fans. How we got that is beyond me. Seen a comment here saying Championship player, think a fair few of us Newcastle fans would even say that's debateable.
He is not a bad young player. You will see it. NU would never sell him if not in a bad ffp situation. He worth at least 25-30 mill. When he was playing always playing with full heart.
Interesting how opinion is so divided on him though, no? It's the feeling more than anything, but they are investing in potential
Not a bad young player 😂. He’s the best thing to come out of our academy since Gaza! Only player we’ve had come out on top v City! This is a disgrace, and proves how corrupt this league is!
A bad deal. He's a Championship player. Does nothing in games. Brandon Aguilera and Scarpa are way better. Joke signing
Interesting take. Such a divided opinion on him. Maybe if the fee was £10m instead, you'd feel like it was a better deal?
😂😂😂 will come back after a few games and you will be eating your words.
Anderson is very slow and has provided little evidence that he's a premier league player. Solid technique but nothing special. Looks like a Championship player to me
Harsh! Give him time, you never know with a full PL season
£10-15m for Vlachodimos going out and Anderson for £35m with add-ons. Great deal
Vlachodimos was £4m
@@SylvainMarveaux9 We’ve sold him to Newcastle for a reported fee of €15m
@@Elcrisso1 it's £4m, not £13m
@@SylvainMarveaux9 It isn’t… but keep telling yourself that
@@Elcrisso1 Keith Downie confirmed it's 5 million Euro
Good points but Spain will probably play their first decent game against Germany .
prob 20m with 5m if scores 30 goals, 5m if we make europe and 5m if we win the league... will still have to be a potential outlay in the books of 35m. in reality its more like 5m a year spread over 5. top prospect, great business
I think it's a smart move, he was highly regarded before injury. His value will grow most likely
yes bro but wirtz is him
Least you know wrighty watches you lads 😂 Ps. The idea there are no other decent left backs that are english is a fing joke... Theres liveramento, Toffolo... All players of all teams should have a chance to shine... Not taking somone who once was good but not played all season and is still crooked was pure stupidity
I agree. Lots of good left backs out there but Southgate banked on Shaw being available for this tournament and it seems that it's backfired. Foden has struggled on that left without an overlapping full-back. Getting through by the skin of our teeth!😬
Worth trying, anything is better than what we are currently doing 😂
1. Trent in mid,NOO!! 2. Saka in LEFT BACK!
Not a Trent fan then?! 😂
been listening to Wrighty are you
You got there b4 me 😂
Check the title, we got there first! This is from our episode after the first England game, you can find the whole video on the channel 👌 perhaps Wrighty has been listening to us…
@FootballDiaryPodcast always hold my hands up when wrong 👐 !!! And that's why you always read the small print everyone.
Haha appreciate it mate! He didn't look bad in that Left back slot when we made that adjustment tonight to be fair! 😎
Cant get any worse
Remember when he came through and all the England fans were being racist towards him fuck England.
What absolute garbage coming out of your mouth
Im more worried about Anges Tottenham team next season, and Newcastle in top 4 race, than I am about UTD of Chelsea! Villa wont fear anyone in Champs League either! No-one will run right through us, or embarass us either. Losing to Olympiakos in semi was as bad as it will ever get under under Unai, and accepted that no problem, we know Unai neefs another year to get team fully where he wants it. Next season will be a massive challenge in Prem and Champs League! Crazy to think the FA Cup and League Cup are Villas back up trophy options now! 😂😮
Fascinating season ahead that's for sure. Villa will continue to grow
Wes Edens backed a basketball coach against mainstream views, and Milwaukee Bucks won the NBA Championship 3 years later! Unai wont even consider leaving until he's won a Trophy! And whtn are Villa are challenging for ALL Major Trophies, it would only be a massive contract offer AND "Club Control" by Real Madrid or Barcelona thst could possibly tempt him, but even that is at least 3-5 years away! He loves the Club, the bsckong his has from Owners and fans, and control of the project! He loves building the team and project! I dont think he will EVER get such job satisfaction anywhere else! He experience at Arsenal have actually helped Vills, as he now knows the pitfalls of an impatient Club and fans! Hes had to deal with Primadonnas like Mbappe and Abumayang, and he still got PSG / Arsenal to Major finals and won Trophies with chaos going on inside both clubs! At Villa he has the best working environment at the most rock stable financially heeled Club in World Football! On top of that, its one of rhe most traditional, historic, and beautiful clubs behind the scenes too! Absolute magic, class! Unai and Villa are one of those rare things in sport where all the parts fit perfectly. Ten Hag and Pocchetino must be worn out with stress trying to calm down on a beach somewhere mentally frazzled, while Unai is chilled at a table somewhere, possibly on a Super Yacht off the Egyptian coast in the Mediterranean, handling dome transfer business on his phone, excitedly waiting to return to work with an ever growing developing team 100% on board with his philosophy! I could write all day about this!;😂
To WIN the Euros Southgate would somehow need to get rid of most of the squads of Portugal, Spain and France which are all better than his no matter who he picks, and hope Germany somehow forget how to play football. To play well he'd need his players to turn up fit, listen to instructions, and show some backbone and leadership, the bravery to get on the ball instead of running away from it and hiding from the game, flapping their arms around and whining. They don't want to get stuck in and it shows horribly, they think they're France or Spain and can turn up and do what they want. But we aren't. This is what Southgate understands that has really helped us, but everyone seems now suddenly to have forgotten again, is that England is historically bang average. We've never achieved anything. This is the first sustained period of being competitive we've EVER had. EVER. So we don't actually know fuck all about winning international tournaments, as a nation, and the only person who understands that is suddenly getting all this stick for setting the team up to play with humility. But we really need that. And everyone who turns around and says "But we've got Bellingham and Foden!" or whatever, you are deluded and wrong, and saying the same things that England fans said before watching Gazza and Barnes get knocked out of tournaments, or Gerrard and Lampard, and so on. Because the players, the coaches, the fans, all of us, we just don't get it. We don't understand. We fucking suck. We have to play like we know we fucking suck. We have to play the Southgate way or we have no chance.
Are you blaming the players then? Or Southgate? Or just the English mentality?
Over the last 25 years Spain have had their golden era team, and then this current team with a break in between. I truly think this current Spanish team could play Italy 50 times and not lose with current players. However , I do see an Italy comeback in the next 6/8 years, same type of Timeframe it took the Germans after losing many players also
What was wrong with Foden ? Does he need a call from Pep? Re. 2nd half. Having listened to GS interview afterwards he referred heavily on training around "staying compact without the ball". My theory is that GS might have taken the opportunity to 'test' playing with out the ball. he is cleverer than we give him credit for, wanted to give experience for playing without ball, i.e. against someone like Spain. If keeper doesnt pull off a worldy we win 2-0 and we just move on to next.
Foden has got to step up hasn't he? No matter where he plays, he's got the ability to do so much more it's frustrating
@@FootballDiaryPodcast looking forward to how you folks analyse that s show tonight lol 🤣
I'm worried, not gonna lie. I honestly don't think Southgate is capable of getting this team to function as it should. x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1803863148384161923?t=RofC2-wKMVbmtHBG5psc3w&s=19 Comments like this worry me even more 😂

Italy, 18/1!!
Oops
@@FootballDiaryPodcast 😂 Can’t get them all right
As a neutral I’m going with Switzerland…I’m here all week
I feel like they're on a bit of a decline to be honest. Never write them off though!
It's increasing our ffp massively if it's just a swap plus the money as the market of the player coming in is used as part of ffp profits which I do believe that's going to be the case Juve want's less of an amortised cost as possible as the Italian league isn't exactly the most profitable they tend to do this type of deal alot because of it. So with Iling Jr,Weston and the fee it's working out around 60m for ffp with two players effectively on a free for us. Juve only pay what a few million a year as it's a lower actual fee they get two players off the book to cover the wages so it works for all involved. Gallagher deal is reliant on Luiz or Durán being sold we ain't getting him without a sale. Durán seems like he's distracted and they put in a massive bid so cash in on him bring in Gallagher and have Archer as backup striker for next season.
Lovely little bit of insight. Utv
The biggest question of Euro 24 is why didn't the ginger one move the light switch? I can't look at that.
I've been moved in for 6 weeks give me a chance 😂 but I agree. Bit of a DIY.
@@FootballDiaryPodcast Previous owner should be banned from B&Q. For life.
I been a Crystal Palace for around 5 years now and what a journey that it has lead to never seen us playing anything like this now. I always saw the potential of our staff and head coach. Roy was getting older now we are moving on and hopefully we can aim from Europe if you can atleast get top 9 I’d be happy because it’d be something different finally.
I agree. The model that your club is using now is proving successful and I think there is a succession plan in place now for promising players that may leave and in the past I don't think that's really been the case. Your recruitment has been great the last couple of years. Exciting times for palace fans! I can certainly see a top half finish for sure.
People forget he's the only manager relying on loan deals. The rest of the "big clubs" loan players out, we have to loan players in. So the point about recruitment is moot.
You could say that Martinez has probably been the only successful signing out of the lot. So if he's having input(which he has and a lot of the players he's brought in are players he's already managed) with the recruitment then you have to say he's partly responsible. I think there are some aspects he's been hamstrung by; like the fees spent on certain players. I'm not convinced over some of the names united are being linked with and with the lack of options out there, I wouldn't be against giving him another season. - Dave
That's how it's been since moyes was manager. Over paying for under performing players, I don't see how Erik was supposed to change that with no difference in the staff above him.
I still think the defence is a little thin for my liking had Maguire had not been injured he'd be a shoo-in 100% but I hope there is no injuries till next Sunday
Absolutely this, defence is a big worry!! Might force Southgate into 3 CBs and/or 2 deep lying midfielders
England has no Spurs for the first time since 1992. If England win, Sours will never recover. But they still have the Harry Kane curse to beat
😂
Erik ten Hag is not good enough for epl and champion league.
you mean reaching the semi final with a university age squad is not good enough for champions league? sure
Sure 😂
