  I find that having the chestplate in the offhand slot makes this way too easy. just have the mace out, and you can fly into them with rockets for drive-by hits

  All of these nerfs would be perfectly fine if not for the attack cooldown... Having it be _slower than an axe_ is absolutely TERRIBLE, and basically makes it impossible to use as a basic weapon. I was excited to finally get a decent alternative to the sword! >:( It would have been cool to have multiple viable standard weapons for different playstyles, but NOPE now you'll only ever need it for the exclusive specific purpose that Mojang deems it to be used for. Its like the trident all over again. Pretty good, but just slightly too niche to be used comfortably (especially in high-speed pvp combat, where it would feel too clunky to time hits properly with the slow cooldown). It wouldn't even be that overpowered since its base damage is so weak already, the only way to use it to its fullest potential would still require falling from high places. Its still BROKEN, don't get me wrong, but being able to one-shot things is only useful for killing bosses and stuff. Most normal mobs get two-shot by a Sharpness V sword anyways. The cooldown just makes it impossible to chain multiple hits together.

  People acting like this is terrible. But the moment we saw how op it was we already knew these changes would happen. It being so op didn't make sense to begin with. Plus it's still pretty damn good honestly. I think it's more so the fact that you can't one-shot the warden anymore that got people mad as a lot of people are still hung up on that mob. Like seriously, some people just have an inferiority complex or something.

  @@user-od2qc2od1y Dropping several blocks to kill a moving target isn't exactly viable if they're decked out in full enchanted netherite. Because better armor will require a longer fall. By then they'll have already moved.

  @@EggsBenedict-te4nj At least when it comes to survival servers I just don't see the point of going out of your way to obtain it And even when I think in pvp at best I see it as a companion weapon at worst I see it as a easily countered weapon

  Hey, I have a great idea. Try mace with firework-loaded crossbow. You are gonna love that. Hit the player with mace get in air launch rockets, hit with mace again, reload the crossbow and repeat.

  Tbh, I think the damage is perfect now. I assume that with the nerfed damage jumping hits are about the same as the normal damage before so it works out. I think the speed nerf is overdoing it though.

  @@user-od2qc2od1y they shouldn't add weapons that are blatantly stronger with no downsides. It's supposed to be used in specific scenarios. Adding a weapon that completely invalidates the best gear in the game is terrible game design.

  @@idekany Update: After more testing with the Mace I do find it fun to use I do not know if I think I would prefer it in most cases but one shotting a lot of mobs with windburst and density is very fun I can't speak much for PVP as I do not play it often but I imagine Mace would be used alongside swords and axes to pierce defense and then combo off of that
