When I first saw the movie in the theater when it came out, I told my buddy that I was there with right when he git Dave to admit that he ripped Tont T off Carlito should've whacked Dave right then and there. He would've been off the hook then and gotten away.

The kids in this story were real people. Chris Chambers was Stephen King's best friend as a kid, and he died just the way the story says he did. When King went to see the pre-release screening of the film, he had to go out to the hallway and cry because the movie had captured everything so well. With great insight, director Rob Reiner realized that the way to get really good performances from the kids was to look for young actors who were as close as possible to the roles they'd be playing. River Phoenix was calm and wise beyond his years, Corey Feldman was a deeply angry child, Jerry O'Connell was good-natured and hyper, and Wil Wheaton was a quiet, depressed boy whose parents took advantage of him and emotionally abused him throughout his life. Reiner saw all of this and ended up with these brilliant performances because in a sense, they _were_ their characters already. It's said that casting is 90% of the success of a film, and this one really proves that.

Bro, I really appreciate your humor and commentary but trying to follow what you're watching on the iPhone is almost impossible because you've got the movie playing on such a small screen. Anyway to edit so that the movie takes up more of the screen like I see a lot of KZreadrs doing?

THE FLICK would`ve been just "The 3 Gunslingers" in our normal 60s American written westerns, but there`s no Italian word for that so it premiered in `66 Rome as "IL Buonno Il Brutto E Il Cavttivo" the final in Sergio`s trilogy, Padna... I`ve watched many come before you and wince at the sound of the 1st ricochet and the gore entailed within the story surrounding the 62 New Mexico Civil War campaign that happens to get in the way of the chase for the gold... and in the end, they make you ask again did Blondie really have to leave Tuco hangin on the line, BUT he did have a good eye SO Keep on Rockin out the movie Sergio critiques ( Fistful of Dollars & A Few Dollars More) & giddyup MIDNIGHT REACTIONS

Great reaction. This movie came out when I was way too young to care about it. I watched it in my mid 20s and was in awe. They don’t make them like this anymore. It is credited as a leading influence for the revitalization of the Western genre of filmmaking in Hollywood. In 2007, Dances with Wolves was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

I used to see "chain gangs" on the roadside growing up in South Carolina in the 70's and 80's, but they weren't chained any more, still working in that South Carolina 90% humidity heat though!
