With a couple of minor mods, this would be an awesome artist’s easel! It just needs sliding blocks at the top, so that you could clamp various sized easels-FROM THE INSIDE-of the canvas stretchers.
Once again, YOU ARE THE MAN!!! I desperately need infeed and outfeed tables for my saw, but don’t have the space for permanent tables-my wood shop shares my garage with a Mustang GT, so I have to be VERY space conscious in all of my shop fixtures and furniture. I think these will be PERFECT for what I need. Thanks, Izzy!
A cnc file would really be nice.
Very nice
Thank you that was very very cool
It's a death trap.
Awesome video thank you 😊
Nice build! very creative and practical! The hold-down T-slots everywhere certainly make this very versatile. Every tool does something particularly well so I wouldn't expect this tool to exactly replace a jointer or planer but it certainly comes close enough for most woodworkers.
Have you tried mounting any other power tools on the sled (e.g. a hand planer, or even a belt sander)?
I love this thing! Great design. I need more room. Lol
Great video. I really enjoyed the minimal talking format and the lack of silly comments and jokes.
Just got HERCULES router combo. So far im pretty happy and impressed
"I dunno... seems like a lot of work." <Sees 10mm socket> "I must organize like this immediately."
Very clever
You could swap out the cable for paracord. Need longer track so you can cut thru, nice setup
Patent pending? Brilliant design!
I'm curious about the red and blue item behind you at around 1:45. It looks to be a bolt/nut size chart. I'm really interested in it because it looks like it has larger sizes
Duuuuude👌
Hey Izzy! Man… I can’t believe how negative some of the comments are. I feel bad for people like that and how miserable they must be every day. Anyway… you mentioned you and Maggie were planning on trying to do videos relating to CNC stuff periodically… is that still in the works? Just curious because I am waiting for my foreman and would love to hear more from you on the topic going forward. Thanks!
my OCD loves you
Circular saw
Interesting....enjoyed it
cool build...I like the video more vocal.
hey izzy, youre amazing... what i will say is someone like jsk koubou is more perfectionist and comes up with some amazingly precise jigs and innovations, but yours are generally more practical, youre one of those guys that just gets sh*t done and thinks hard enough to come up with truly practical solutions, love it!
really nice, i think id rather have this than a planer and joiner, just does so much more and far cheaper
Thank you for sharing! I need at least two of each - and now I am inspired! Very crafty and clever. I miss Shop Notes!
Nothing awkward, btw that vice is cool, dam'n 😍
“Hydroponics” - wink, wink
Izzy, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tricks. These jigs will definitely get made fairly soon. Shop Notes was a fantastic magazine. I wish that there were still one similar to that being put out today. Thank you again for doing these videos.
where I can get the rock cart??
You could use this for creating dovetail joints if you clamp a piece vertically on your tilting table and come up with a way to lock one of the axes at measured increments.
"An organized shop that you can make a mess in". Well put.
Super badass!
The whole maker scene died about 10 years in terms of profitability. Parts are now a commodity and people just buy the machines and make it themselves.
I cut down 2 Deodar cedar that were 85 feet tall and about 90 years old. I got 2 slabs at the base that are a little bit short of 6 feet diameter. I am looking for some rails that won't sage when I run the router across. I like the idea of the plywood or something under the rails for support. Great idea!
Wow. That chamfer/taper side table is wild. I started this video thinking it would be just a well built router sled using nice linear bearings. Holy smokes, this is genius!
Got a hoot from this video.👍 I too build from anything.
Shop Notes is publishing again!
Excellent!!! Job very well done.
Execellent video, as always thank you.
what if it were Mounted perpendicular to the wall. (on the wall) and then the sawdust would fall down.. (as well be blown from the air assist) . and have a flat vacuum suction on the foot or even a Metal Grate below where it would suck up the debris (bark) and sawdust.. like do all that but prop it against the wall. or PIVOT from the floor orientation to the wall vertical orientation. [ Better yet., just use a predesigned MURPHY BED mechanism rack and pivot ] and hide it all away for hidden storage. ]
How does he keep the saw ON? 4:34 Look here. :^)
***paints thumb and finger green as to NOT cut off during next video(s)
Absolute genius!
Thanks for sharing. I need to make one to turn 12-15 inch dia pine wood (1 inch thick). need 25-50 pcs. What capacity corded drill do you suggest. I just need both Head stock and tailstock at 25 inch heigh. correct? Do I need thicker bolt?
this is beyond my build capabilities. when are you going to sell the kits 🙂
Your videos are honest and inspiring! Thank you for your passion for the home woodwoodworker, along with the family vibe in the background.
Do any of these jigs have metal versions?
No, Izzy! Don't put your thingy in the vice! Let Maggie do it.
The tilted base is absolutely brilliant!!! I'm building this.
